About the property

Situated close to Le Bettex, in the hamlet of Les Communailles, 15 minutes drive from St Gervais. - 5 mins drive from amenities at Les Bettex, inc' ski school, & ski lifts to the Evasion ski domain,

This comfortable apartment is available to rent throughout the year. It is ideal for holidaymakers and family's wanting a quiet and stunning location close to Le Bettex ski facilities and not far from St Gervais village centre. It has WI FI - is tastefully furnished and well equipped. The apartment has magnificent panoramic views overlooking the Mont Blanc mountain range.

Le Bettex:

Situated a five minute drive / 20 minute walk from the apartment, (and a bus service in the peak winter weeks) Le Bettex has multiple facilities for the skier and snowboarder and provides access to, from and within the extensive "Evasion Mont Blanc" ski domain, with 445 kms of Pistes to explore.

A centre of excellence for instruction, the nearest Ecole de Ski Francais is based here, The ski and boarding instructors provide both private and group tuition for all ages and abilities and speak numerous languages. Facilities include nursery slopes, safe sledging areas, a crèche, restaurants, bars, ski hire shops, grocery stores ( in season) and car parking facilities.

In the summer, tennis courts, a playground, and walking trails are available and easily accessible. The Telecabines link the village of St Gervais with Le Bettex and provide access for walkers, hikers and mountain bikers to access mountain trails at higher altitude.. The area is frequently used as a base for horse and pony rides and hacks. Farm animals graze the local meadows and mountainsides - flora, fauna, bird and wildlife can be found in abundance.

Les Communailles:

A small hamlet with magnificent views providing access to and from the extensive "Evasion" ski domain.. Please note that a button lift operates from this hamlet. Beginners lacking in confidence should use the facilities at Le Bettex..

Les Communailles gives access to various walking trails.

Two restaraunts are situated in the hamlet providing both meals and bar facilities. Opening times vary according to seasons - please check.

Paragliders can be seen "landing" in Les Communailles during the ski season.

St Gervais:

This charming and traditional savoyard village is situated approximately 15 minutes away from the apartment. It is easily accessible.

The tourist office can be found in the centre of the village which provides a base for and information on The Companie of Guides and the Ecole de Ski Francais.

There is a wide selection of hotels, restaurants, bars and shops.

Two mini supermarkets, a butcher, delicatessens, boulangerie and pattiseries provide a wide selection of food for those wishing to self cater. An outdoor market is held every Thursday .

In addition to a swimming pool and sports complex, there is the "Patinoire" - an ice rink which is home to the local ice hockey team.

The Tramway du Mont Blanc rack and pinion railway has a " station" at St Gervais although the starting point is to be found at Le Fayet in the Valley.

Numerous events are held in the village throughout the year.

Le Fayet:

Le Fayet is home to the multi purpose thermal park which has a swimming pool and sporting facilities such as rock climbing. During the summer months art work can be seen displayed amongst the trees that surround the park and driveway to the renowned spa baths " Les Thermes Saint - Gervais - Les - Bains" where you can indulge in various treatments.

Departure point for the famous Tramway de Mont Blanc rack and pinion railway and where information and tickets can be obtained regarding trips to the Aiguille Du Midi and ice caves in Chamonix.

Nearby, the beautiful Lac de Passy with dedicated beach and swimming areas, crazy golf and paddle boats - windsurfing, sailing, sport and fitness trails are amongst the facilities provided.

Bowling, paragliding, hot air ballooning, golf, and horse riding are also located in the valley or nearby, as well as a cinema, casino, rafting, go karting and an outdoor swimming pool. .


A delightful traditional town with horse drawn sleighs. In addition to restaurants, bars, designer clothes and shoe shops, galleries and a casino, there is a sports complex with indoor / outdoor swimming pool and Patinoire.

Megeve hosts many cultural and sporting events throughout the year.

Les Contamine-Montjoie:

A Traditional Savoyard village with access by gondola to 120km of piste, cross country and highly rated off piste ski-ing. This Terrain is also part of the "Evasion" ski Domain. Les Contamines needs to be accessed by car. Facilities in the summer include a lake with dedicated beach and swimming areas,walking and mountain bike trails, horse riding and numerous organised activities..


Famous for the Valley Blanche and multiple amenities.

St Nicholas de Veroce.:

A beautiful traditional village with a recently restored baroque church. Also part of the Evasion Ski Domain.

Lac De Passy in the valley has dedicated beach and swimming areas, paddle boats, windsurfing and crazy golf.

Geneva and Annecy are fascinating lakeside towns well worth a visit.

The apartment is available to rent throughout the year. The lounge has direct access to the front and side terraces which are equipped with comfortable furniture and a dining table and chairs. The hallway leads to both the double bedroom and bunk bedroom ( both with fitted wardrobes), bathroom, seperate toilet and main entrance.

John and I are based in Hertfordshire. We like to make use of the apartment as often as possible. The apartment is used by and provides great enjoyment to all members of our family including our dog - a lively and slightly mad gordon setter.

We feel priveleged to have a home in this area of outstanding natural beauty and tranquillity.

We were attracted to this ground floor apartment by its peaceful location and outstanding panoramic views. Having an enclosed, elevated and completely private garden / side terrace, we hope it will be of interest to families with younger children as well as guests who will appreciate the additional outside space

We recognised that the close proximity to Le Bettex and Les Communailles ski domain would also be advantageous.

The area has numerous activities available locally both in summer and winter.

What makes this apartment unique

In addition to the apartment being situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty, It has been furnished and equipped to a high standard, with both care and attention to detail. Hopefully, everything visitors to the apartment could need or want has been provided and we will continue to maintain it to this same standard for the enjoyment, comfort and benefit of ourselves, our families and our guests.

We would ask that you respect this mountain retreat and hope that you love being here as much as we do ourselves.

Whenever possible we will be flexible on the length of stays requested and to accomodate guests wishing to make use of cheaper mid week travel offers.

Notes on accommodation: The apartment has electric heating and plenty of hot water. Selection of books and games in English. No smoking and no pets - thank you. Outside: Double aspect. Terrace with seating to the front which leads to a sloping garden. Accessible from the lounge. Enclosed terrace to the side - decked and grassed areas. Accessible from the lounge and double bedroom. Furnished with steamer chairs and a garden table + chairs + sun umbrella. Utility Room: Washer /Dryer in kitchen area. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and Linen are provided in the rental cost for a maximum of 4 people. Cleaning and beds changed following guest departure. Should additional towels be used -eg for swimming, please launder them in the washer dryer prior to departure. Thank you. Lovely apartment

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful apartment. We’ve never had such fantastic views from a ski apartment before, especially when the sun is setting and Mont Blanc turns pink. Amazing! Very clean, fully equipped with comfy beds. Great selection of dvds also.

Mostly skied from Les Communailles but unfortunately the shuttle bus was very hit and miss so usually had to walk 10-15 mins in all our ski clobber up the hill, which became tiresome in the end. Needed snow chains to get up driveway to apartment which was no bother but didn’t want to keep taking them on and off to take the car elsewhere.

Le Bettex, which was approx 20mins walk in normal footwear, was great for ski and boot hire. Ski passes could be bought at either place. Good selection of slopes for all abilities.

Walked down to St Gervais one afternoon from the apartment, which was really good. Needed ski poles as slippery at times. Took 2hrs approx to get down, had a wander round St Gervais then got the gondola back to Le

Bettex (one way ticket - 6 euros each). Used google maps to find our way to avoid using the road as much as possible.

Accommodation excellent facilities excellent very peaceful . Perfect base for siteseeing and to come back to comfortable beds and nice hot water very clean . Would definitely visit again

A lovely apartment in a stunning location

My family and I stayed in the apartment for a ski holiday in the February school holidays, 2017.

There were four of us and the apartment was just the right size.

The apartment is well located, around 5 minutes drive from Le Bettex and the ski car park.

It faces directly at Mont Blanc and the Dome Du Gouter and Mont Blanc's summit can be seen from the sitting room.

Everything in the apartment was of good quality and well maintained. It was spotlessly clean and we couldn't fault anything.

John the owner was easy to deal with and everything went smoothly.

Lovely quiet location, outstanding views and good sized, comfortable accommodation.

Myself, my husband and two young children stayed here during the Feb half term 2016. When we arrived it was snowing really heavily and visibility was poor, so the detailed instructions helped us locate the property quickly. The accommodation is excellent, it was bigger than we thought it would be and the photographs don't do it justice. It has the most amazing views of Mont Blanc and this was stunning when the pink evening light came down on it. The kitchen is very well equipt, although we would have liked a toaster, as it took us a while to stop burning our toast on the grill! the bedrooms are comfortable, we all slept really well during the week, with enough storage space in them to accommodate a weeks worth of skiing clothes! We struggled with some of the heaters, some seemed to work others didn't at times, however overall the apartment was always warm and cosy (although I would suggest bringing thick warm socks/slippers as the floors are cold). Bathroom was well equipt with lots of storage space and a fantastic warm shower/bath, the water was always mega hot. Lounge/dinning area was large and spacious, and the DVD player was a godsend as we were unable to connect to wifi while we were there. Passwords and details had been given to us and are in the apartment too, however we still were unable to get in working. Lots of books and games to occupy us though, so who needs the internet anyway? outside space was excellent, obviously it was covered it lots and lots of snow when we went, but I think the garden and balcony area would be a real sun trap in the summer months. Overall the apartment was even better than we nhad expected and it was clean, warm and welcoming when we arrived. Parking space was never a problem and you could catch the free ski shuttle bus to take you to Le Bettex at the bottom of the road if you didn't want to deal with parking issues/snow chains etc. or you could walk 10-15 minutes but not a good idea in ski-boots! The owners were excellent in communicating with us and we would recommend this property to friends and family. Would we stay there again, yes we would, just need to be aware than most eating places/larger food shops are in St Gervais, which is a lovely spa town, about 20 minutes drive away. We ate out twice, both in St Gervais, both restaurant's we had to book in advance, L'Eterle (pizzeria) and La Galeta (steak/regional food) also La Affiche is a lovely bar/café, all spoke good English and welcomed children.

The French port of Calais to St Gervais Les Bains is approximately a ten hour motorway journey. ( Motorway Road Tolls Payable ) with numerous service stations and rest areas available.

By Air:

Geneva Cointrin Airport, Switzerland.

Switzerland is approximately one hours drive away from St Gervais.Les Bains.

Car hire is available from the airport. ( child safety seats can be ordered from the car hire company at the time of booking as should snow chains and winter tyres in the winter months.)

Directions will be provided to the apartment based on collection of a car hired from the Swiss side of the Airport.

The "Chamonix Bus" also provides transport between the Airport and St Gervais Les Bains with a drop off point at Le Fayet in the valley

Taxi's are available locally as well as at the Airport..

By Train:

Rail links from the airport in Geneva via a city centre connection to St Gervais Les Bain rail station situated at Le Fayet in the Valley.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day: Saturday - however, we try to be flexible and meet the needs of our guests whenever possible.
