About Richard Thomasson

Richard and Francesca Thomasson have lived and worked abroad for a number of years and they bought the house in 2014 for their eventual retirement.

Both Richard and Francesca have family connections in Kent and they love all that Canterbury has to offer and the convenience of the cross-channel terminals and London, all within easy reach, and of course the beautiful Kent countryside and coasts.

The house is located to the south of Canterbury city centre which has sight-seeing, shopping and restaurants to suit all tastes. The city centre is a 10 minutes walk and there is a regular bus service to the city centre with a stop by the Mews. Kent County Cricket ground and a well-stocked Sainsbury’s local store are around the corner.

Modern, clean property with everything you need

Within a 15 minute pleasant walk to Canterbury centre, the location of this property is ideal for exploring. The house was very clean and well maintained, and the neighbours are friendly. Everything we needed was to hand, and we couldn't have asked for more. Small touches like board games and DVDs, everything you could want in the kitchen, heated towel rails and fans, made a very pleasant stay. The owners sent clear instructions and were friendly and helpful. The city of Canterbury has a lot to offer, from historical sites to modern shops. Brilliant! Can't fault this property at all. Would definitely recommend it and we hope to return again.

A fantastic property immaculately clean

First of all, great communication pre holiday. Then perfect arrival instructions, met with a bottle of wine to greet us and an absolutely immaculate property.

The location is great. We were only a short drive from all the lovely places to see on the coast and close to Canterbury centre.

We had a walk up to the Gate Inn which was a lovely meal and good service.

We loved the summer room at the back, and the bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen facilities were pristine, well stocked and had everything you would need.

Would definitely return here if we were staying in the area again, and would highly recommend this property to anyone looking in this area.

Sainsbury local just round the corner too at the side of the cricket ground!!

The location is perfect for Canterbury centre and the surrounding countryside and coast. If you like cricket you can watch the game through for free from what I call the 'Sainsbury's End'.

Great City - Great Stay!!

Very comfortable house within 10 minutes walk to the city and the benefit of a bus stop just outside. Very well appointed with everything you need and quite delightful neighbours who are very happy to provide advice and directions. Great selection of good restaurants in the city centre and some lovely old country pubs within a 15 mile radius. A great success and we will certainly return.

beautiful house, great location

We spent 2 weeks with our 3 children in this house. It is a beautiful place with a garden and good parking. Furniture, towels, kitchen appliances etc. are all of good quality. The house is beautifully furnished. It is rather new and well- maintained. It was very clean when we arrived. The house looked even better than expected.

The neighbourhood is nice. It is close to the town centre (within walking distance) but quiet.

This place offers good value for the price and I would highly recommend it. We would like to come back!!!

Lovely property close to Canterbury centre

Very well equipped and beautifully maintained property, ten minutes walk from Canterbury centre. Parking outside the house for two cars. The owners of the property are very quick to respond to any requests and the neighbors are very friendly.

We really enjoyed our stay in Canterbury. The house was clean, well equipped and within walking distance of Canterbury centre. It was a real home from home, and we would recommend this property to anyone wishing to visit the area.
