Lovely cottage in Bransgore, Nr Christchurch, New Forest, Hampshire, England - Peaceful Location,15 minutes drive to the Beach

This pretty, detached, ‘chocolate box’, thatched holiday cottage lies a few miles from the Dorset coast, on the edge of the New Forest National Park which is hugely popular for excellent walks, cycling and horse riding routes. The cottage is an ideal retreat for families, with many character features and a hot tub in the garden’s summer house. Enjoy sandy beaches at Mudeford, Bournemouth and Poole. Burley and Christchurch are just 3 miles away. Shops mile, nearest of 3 pubs, 100 yards.

Kitchen with dining area, gas/electric range (for cooking) and tiled floor. TV. Large living room with wooden floor, TV/DVD. WiFi. Snug with TV/DVD. Small step down to compact double bedroom with additional bunk above (for +1) TV/DVD. Bathroom with roll-top bath, shower attachment and toilet. First floor: Two double bedrooms, one with 6ft bed, one with additional single bed (for +1). Both bedrooms have TV/DVD. Shower room with toilet. Some rooms with beams and low ceilings/doorways.

Four Oaks can sleep 8, however due to the compact bunk room arrangement (on the ground floor) it is not really suitable for 8 adults. It does however comfortably suit various family dynamics. This point is only highlighted to avoid any disappointment as I wish guests to always enjoy Four Oaks for all that this beautiful property and region have to offer. From April to Sept the minimum stay is 7 nights and changeover day is a Friday. However, we may be able to be a little more flexible for your requirements if the situation allows us to.

The cottage was genuinely fantastic - roomy, to a very high spec and fantastic for the dogs. The area is very friendly, the shops are a short walk away to provide everything you might need. From a small (excellent) bakery to a family butchers providing great meat for dinner. The garden is a nice size and the hot tub was a lot of fun - there are even plastic glasses in the cupboard for when you head out there - there is literally everything that you might need. I think the real test for a holiday is if you would go back - and the answer would be a definite yes. One note, the WiFi can be patchy but the owner has done all he can to help that. It works but walls in an old cottage are very thick so just move closer to a router and problem solved... plus why did you go to the New Forest if you were going to work or stream media! Put the phone/tablet/laptop down and pour yourself a glass of something nice!

Beautiful, comfortable, perfect holiday cottage!

From the jaw dropping first impressions to discovering that this cottage comes equipped with everything you could possibly need and more. All the mod cons mixed with traditional and comfortable items make this the ideal holiday home. We were four adults and one toddler who did not want to go home! Thank you so much to Mike and Alex who go that extra mile to make everything perfect. A special place in an ideal location for exploring both beach and forest. Highly recommended - worth every penny

The Crown & Three Tunns both 400M at 100 Metres Nearest Train : Hinton Admiral at 3 Miles Nearest Restaurant : The Carpenters. The Crown & Three Tunns both 400M. at 100 Metres Nearest Beach : Avon beach (lovely) at 5 Miles Car: recommended

Coast/Beach:

Main local beach is Avon beach: postcode BH23 4AN - 12 minutes drive / 5 miles. Lots of parking, café, kiosks, shops and beach hire (inc canoes). Boat trips at Mudeford Quay a short walk away.

Adjacent beach Friars cliff is quieter (postcode BH23 4TA) which is sandy and slightly stoney. In the middle of the beach huts is the award winning Beach Hut Café serving homemade produce. Steamer Point car park has 4 disabled spaces.

Car is recommended.

The Three Tuns (3 mins drive) and The Crown (2 mins drive) are the recommended pubs esp The Three Tuns for food.
