Lovely cottage in Bransgore, Nr Christchurch, New Forest, Hampshire, England - Peaceful Location,15 minutes drive to the Beach

This pretty, detached, ‘chocolate box’, thatched holiday cottage lies a few miles from the Dorset coast, on the edge of the New Forest National Park which is hugely popular for excellent walks, cycling and horse riding routes. The cottage is an ideal retreat for families, with many character features and a hot tub in the garden’s summer house. Enjoy sandy beaches at Mudeford, Bournemouth and Poole. Burley and Christchurch are just 3 miles away. Shops mile, nearest of 3 pubs, 100 yards.

Kitchen with dining area, gas/electric range (for cooking) and tiled floor. TV. Large living room with wooden floor, TV/DVD. WiFi. Snug with TV/DVD. Small step down to compact double bedroom with additional bunk above (for +1) TV/DVD. Bathroom with roll-top bath, shower and toilet. First floor: Two double bedrooms, one with 6ft bed, one with additional single bed (for +1). Both bedrooms have TV/DVD. Shower room with toilet. Some rooms with beams and low ceilings/doorways.

Four Oaks can sleep 8, however due to the compact bunk room arrangement (on the ground floor) it may not be wholly suitable for 8 adults. It does however comfortably suit various family dynamics. This point is only highlighted to avoid any disappointment as I wish guests to always enjoy Four Oaks for all that this beautiful property and region have to offer. From April to Sept the minimum stay is 7 nights and changeover day is a Friday. However, we may be able to be a little more flexible for your requirements if the situation allows us to.

Patio with table and chairs seats 4. Rear Garden: Large grass garden leading out from the kitchen to a patio area with gazebo, large table and chairs to seat 6, and summer house with seating and a hot tub. Access to utility room from kitchen outside also with 2 washing machines and 2 dryers. Utility Room: 2 washing machines and 2 spin dryers. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The cottage will of course be fully professionally cleaned for your arrival. Towels and linen are included. No cleaning during a one week stay. One clean during a fortnight stay. Other: Snug - Room between kitchen and living room with TV, Freeview and DVD player and toy box. Also access to the internet via a PC. Ideal as a Reading room or a Play room for children.

Great cottage, location and locals are wonderful!

Not only did the cottage surpass our expectations but so did the surroundings. There is so much to do locally and the information leaflets left in the cottage were a god-send. The local pubs are fantastic and the people in the Carpenters were so friendly! Can't wait to go back :)

Perfect for our large family

The house was cosy and inviting with a huge kitchen dining hall, perfect for our large family with two babies and dogs.

It was very well appointed, enough of everything, comfortable beds and a large sitting room. The enclosed garden was brilliant for the dogs, playing croquet and boules. The babies loved the play house too.

The cottage was in a superb location for the forest and beaches and within walking distance of shops and pubs.

I would recommend this very comfortable homely house

Everything you would want and more, excellant property best we have stayed at in this country

We had great weather which helped, the area is ideal for sightseeing plenty to interest all, local Inns are friendly and serve good food and drink. the cottage had everything you (and dogs) needed for a comfortable stay.

Fun family holiday

We have just had an excellent week in this cottage. We have 2 young children and everything we needed was there. Surrounding area brilliant for cycling, walking and pepper pig world. Lots of pubs. Especially enjoyed eating at the crown inn food and atmosphere was lovely.

The best we've ever stayed at! We loved it!

We've stayed at lots of holiday homes over the years. Four Oaks is 'the' one that has ticked the most boxes for us. The location is excellent for the lovely beaches and stunning New Forest. The cottage is beautiful, tastefully furnished, thoughtfully equipped and the hot tub was a lovely bonus. We'll be back!

The cottage was genuinely fantastic - roomy, to a very high spec and fantastic for the dogs. The area is very friendly, the shops are a short walk away to provide everything you might need. From a small (excellent) bakery to a family butchers providing great meat for dinner. The garden is a nice size and the hot tub was a lot of fun - there are even plastic glasses in the cupboard for when you head out there - there is literally everything that you might need. I think the real test for a holiday is if you would go back - and the answer would be a definite yes. One note, the WiFi can be patchy but the owner has done all he can to help that. It works but walls in an old cottage are very thick so just move closer to a router and problem solved... plus why did you go to the New Forest if you were going to work or stream media! Put the phone/tablet/laptop down and pour yourself a glass of something nice!

Adjacent beach Friars cliff is quieter (postcode BH23 4TA) which is sandy and slightly stoney. In the middle of the beach huts is the award winning Beach Hut Café serving homemade produce. Steamer Point car park has 4 disabled spaces.
