Set in a village location not in the hustle and bustle of Salcombe but not far away.
I live in England with my wife and two daughters. My wife and I are both full-time working professionals and spend all of our free time with our children in the South Hams visiting the wonderful coastline and places to visit. It seems our busy work lives are left behind as soon as you enter the Devon expressway which is one of the main reasons we love the South Hams so much. Exploring the coastline of the English Riveria is fantastic. Exploring the inland scenery of Dartmoor is equally amazing. Our South Hams home is within 2-hours of our main residence and working life, far enough, but not too far ! our Children is why we work so hard so it is only fair to give them quality time we can all enjoy.

We started visiting Devon in particular South Hams, Salcombe and surrounding areas in 2006. Over the years we continued to return and it was clear that we wanted a property of our own in the area to further enjoy those repeated experiences. We wanted somewhere we can retreat from being the busy family that we are. We bought our property in 2013 and refurbished it through-out so that we could let it out to other families in and around our own visits. All of our family members use the property and it serves as a central location to all of the attractions and places to visit within the South Hams. There is something to do for all ages and the access to the area is straight off the A38/M5.
My young daughters favourite past time in the South Hams is beach, boating and crabbing at The Crabshell Inn. We have a boat that we launch in Salcombe and find this the best way to travel around the area taking in the amazing coves and beaches that you can also access by car. Chillington is fantiscally located between Salcombe and Dartmouth. We find we get the best of both worlds visiting these two fantastic ports as well as the villages and beaches between them. Star point being so close to our home is great for a 'chill' day - It is never busy being such a long beach - Its also great for mackerel fishing and bbq's.
Our property is located between Salcombe and Dartmouth. It offers a central location to all of the events, attractions and coastline scenery that the South Hams has to offer. We like family beach visits and there are twenty to choose from in the area. Inland is a vast amount of natural wildlife and nature reserves. Other local attractions include sailing/boating in Salcombe, watersports at Bantham, coastal walks, seafood bistros and restaurants, seasonal regattas at Salcombe, Frogmore and Dartmouth. Beach is 1.75-miles. Our property is a bungalow and was refurbished to keep in mind the access for senior persons as well as younger families. The gardens are enclosed and the shower is a wet room. The local village offers traditional shops such as local stores, butchers, bakers.

Really nice, well equipped bungalow situated in a pleasant village. Really good location for accessing local places such as Kingsbridge, Dartmouth and Salcombe. Beaches are also a short drive away. There are plenty of places to eat locally including a nice pub in the village. The property also has bbq facilities and a nice garden.
Just returned from a great week in Devon staying at this lovely quiet bungalow which is presented to a very high standard of decoration and fittings and very clean on arrival. Outside the garden is neat, sunny and private with comfi garden furniture. the property is just as described.
In short just a really lovely place to spend a week in Devon knowing you had a home from home to return to each evening. The owner "Alex" was very helpful and prompt at replying to questions we had on booking and providing some local knowledge before arrival.

We were really impressed with the central location with easy access towards Dartmouth and to the West towards Salcombe. The local pubs and Bistros provided lovely wholesome food with seafood selections. The house was very clean through-out and the beds even had memory foam mattresses. We would definitely book again, private enclosed gardens too.
As a family of four we really need a home from home when we go on holiday and Bungalow Cottage fitted the bill perfectly. The bungalow is conveniently located in beautiful South Hams, within easy reach of Kingsbridge, Dartmouth, Salcombe and Totnes. We found many perfect walks on our doorstep and were only a very short drive from the beach. The property was in excellent order - very clean and comfortable. The washing line was also a bonus - it's great to be able to wash and dry your stuff if you need to. Overall I would recommend the property and location for both families and couples - the peace and quiet has to be experienced to be believed! I will definitely book next year.
We enjoyed a comfortable fortnight in South Hams. Located within easy reach of Kingsbridge, Dartmouth and a wide variety of beaches we were never short of something to do. The house was spotless though it would benefit from the addition of a dishwasher.
