A wonderful self contained apartment within a former Rectory set in 2.5 acres of peaceful grounds teeming with birds and wildlife. The recently refurbished apartment is fully centrally heated and although joined to the main house is completely private and has separate access through the private courtyard which has an outdoor seating area. There is ample parking within the grounds very close to the property.
The Apartment is situated in a quiet village which boasts a church mentioned in the Domesday book, the fabulous Tudor built Barsham Manor and a delightful pub. It is in a perfect central location , just a short drive from the gorgeous unspoilt beaches of the North Norfolk coast where you will find mile after mile of sea and sand, perfect for relaxing on a warm summers day but just as exhilarating for winter walks wrapped up against the cold. A short drive will take you to the Georgian market town of Fakenham and Pensthorpe Waterfowl Park as seen in the BBC's Springwatch shows, and within easy reach of other interesting towns such as Walsingham , Holt and Burnham Market to name but a few. Slightly further afield is the magnificent city of Norwich home to the famed Cathedral, fabulous shops, restaurants, the Canaries football team and Alan Partridge! Bird reserves such as Titchwell and Cley are also a short distance away.
New for 2016 guests can now take advantage of our Sports and Remedial Massage service at the property by a fully accredited, Insured and ITEC qualified massage therapist, including Postural Analysis, Deep tissue Massage, Myofascial Release and Full Body Relaxing massage. The best place in Norfolk
The Cottage was clean welcoming well furnished comfortable with everything you would need for a great holiday. Great location for visiting Norfolk Broads Norwich and North Norfolk coast lots to see and do.

Lovely peaceful retreat thoughtfully set up in the wing of an old Manor House. Heather & Russ were very pleasant and helpful and we would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment and look forward to a return visit.

Me and my partner stayed in this beautiful apartment only for a few days however from the start we were made to feel welcome and at home. The hosts were friendly, approachable and keen to help but weren't intrusive. The apartment was absolutely faultless, not a speck of dust, very well equipped and comfortable spacious rooms and bed. There is plenty of parking on the vast sweeping drive!
We are nature lovers and enjoyed watching the various wildlife of a morning which visited the garden, especially the cheeky jackdaws on the bird feeders! While we stayed we had the luck of fantastic weather which resulted in gorgeous sunsets from the bedroom....very romantic!
There was also a swinging bench, garden table and sun loungers provided in the courtyard which would have come in useful had we had a longer stay.
It is close to local towns and not far from the beach of Holkham which is possibly one of the most gorgeous beaches in England!
We are planning on returning again soon this time for longer! A home from home!

We spent a delightful week here in this lovely apartment in April. We cannot recommend it highly enough for comfort, cleanliness and convenience. The kitchen is equipped with everything you could want, the, the sitting room and bedroom are tastefully decorated and furnished. Heather and Russ ,the owners, are welcoming and friendly and if you are birdwatchers, Russ is your man!
We were looking for somewhere convenient to go bird watching and visit local places of interest. I read the previous reviews and thought I'd book. I was not disappointed. It is in a great location. Pretty central for all the places we wanted to visit, yet it's set in a peaceful location.
The accommodation is spotlessly clean and well equipped. It is comfortable and spacious.
The friendly owners are well worth taking the time to talk to as they also know some lesser known bird watching sites.
I will be back.....!

Activity and Interests
Beaches can be found at Wells next the Sea 7 miles , Holkham 10 miles, Sheringham 15 miles, Cromer 20 miles ,Hunstanton 20 miles , Brancaster 13 miles(all mileage approx.)
Use of a car is recommended.
We are 7 miles from the historic town of Wells next the Sea, about 9 miles from Holkham Hall and beach, 3.5 miles to the historic market town of Fakenham , 5 miles to Pensthorpe Bird reserve, about 2 miles from the famous pilgrimage town of Walsingham , about 14 miles to Holt , 11 miles to Burnham Market and 15 miles to the Cley nature reserve .
The nearest local shops can be found at Fakenham which has Morrison's, Tesco, local grocers , a weekly Thursday market and Auction, Banks NatWest, Nationwide, Barclays and HSBC, Fakenham Racecourse, a Cinema, and Bowling. Restaurants can be found in most towns and the village of East Barsham has a Pub with a very good restaurant.
North Norfolk is renowned as a good spot to watch birds and for those keen birdwatchers amongst our guests we are always happy to point them in the direction of some of the off the beaten track places to go , apart from the wonderful reserves of Titchwell and Cley. There are lots of National Trust properties such as Blickling Hall within a reasonable distance and plenty of gardens to visit for those with an interest in Stately Homes , not forgetting Sandringham of course. Watersports are also a popular pursuit around the coast, as is cycling and we have the facilities in our outbuildings to be able to store any of this equipment if needed.

We require £100.00 deposit to secure your booking and the full balance paid four weeks before the first day of the holiday. If the booking is made within the four weeks then we will require full payment with the booking. If we do not receive the final payment four weeks before then we reserve the right to cancel the booking and keep the deposit.

The apartment is booked Saturday to Saturday , departure by 10.30am on the last day of your stay and arrival no earlier than 3pm on the first day of your stay.
