Modern House in Carlyon Bay, St Austell, Cornwall, England - Stunning Location - Beach, Coastal Walking Path & Golf Course Within 10 Minutes Walk

"Beam Reach" was built in 1970 by an architect for his family. It looks as stylish & modern today as the day it was built.

2016 is our third year welcoming guests, so you too can enjoy this stunning home.

OUTSIDE -- Almost an acre of lush garden, with a private large Pool (heated in Summer), and fully fenced for safety. There are two patios - the upper looks over the garden and over tree-tops out to sea, the lower is more shelter with views of the garden and a perfect spot dining.

INSIDE -- Oversize Living Room opens to upper patio with amazing views. Large dining kitchen, is fully equipped with everything you need for the perfect holiday; including range cooker, dishwasher and american style fridge-freeze. There's also a Separate Dining Room, WC and Laundry Room. Master Bedroom with 6 foot super-king bed and on-suite. Second Bedroom with 5 foot king-size bed. Third Bedroom with two 3 foot single beds (or one 6ft super-king bed). Fourth Bedroom with two single beds - recommended for children. Fifth Bedroom with two 3 foot single beds (or one 6ft super-king bed) and en-suite Bathroom. Family Bathroom in addition to the two en-suite.

NEARBY --Beautiful location close to the Sea and South West Coastal Path. The Beach and a luxury hotel with Spar and Golf Course are within 10 minutes walk. The Coast Path runs east along the cliffs for miles to Par and beyond. To the west, the path drops gently along the edges of fields to Georgetown's historic village harbour, around 20 minutes walk. IN THE AREA -- The Eden Project with the worlds largest indoor Rain-forest is 15 minutes drive. St Austell town centre has a large shopping area and parking about 10 minutes drive. The coastline has dramatic cliffs and sheltered bays, some with charming villages, others with beautiful beaches. In-land there are the moors, dramatic views of old tin mines, and endless possibilities for keen walkers.

About David Watson

'Beam Reach' has been our wonderful holiday home since 2001.

The nieces & nephews, our parents, brother and sisters have had many years of wonderful holidays here.

Although we live in London, the family is spread across England, and some of them now live abroad.

The kids are now all grown up, but we still meet up here in sunny Cornwall especially in the winter (it is the warmest part of Britain!).

We love the big rooms, and it's a great house for all the generations together.

We can spend all day hanging about the pool (and summers seem longer here), but we've also planted the gardens to be lush and colourful year round.

We extended the house in late 2015, adding a fifth bedroom with it's own en-suite bathroom.

Why David Watson chose Newquay & St Austell area

We looked for several years before finding 'Beam Reach'.

We wanted something modern: big rooms, big windows, high ceilings, views - no cottages for us!

Somewhere for the *whole* extended family to meet up.

The sea view was essential, but the huge garden and swimming pool was the surprised that sealed the deal.

We bought from the architect who built and treasured the house, we've modernised and upgraded, but we try to keep his original vision.

What makes this house unique

Our family say the house is big enough to spend a whole week without leaving the grounds (except for quick trips to the big Tesco's that's close by).

Lounging by the pool. Enjoying the view. Lunch & Dinner outside on the sheltered patio - surrounded by the wonderful garden.

Cosied up around the real fire in winter.

But, there is lots to do as well.

It's great for Golfers (that's my brother) and Sailors (all of us). We love visiting the Cornish gardens, and this area is famous for them. And then there's the Eden Project, and the wonderful old harbours like Georgetown.

The Carlyon Bay Hotel is close by, great for food, and a wonderful Spa (serious pampering).

But, most of all, its that the house is big enough for all of us to spread out and relax.

Outside: A spectacular location and beautiful garden with pool. There are two large patio, one outside the living room with distant sea views, and a more sheltered patio outside the Kitchen. The Garden is huge, almost an acre. It is fully fenced, has large lawns and beautiful plants and trees. The 15m swimming pool is separately fenced for safety, and heated during the summer holidays. The gardener comes on Wednesday mornings, to keep it looking beautiful. Utility Room: Separate utility room with Washing Machine and Tumble Drier Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Hotel Quality Bedding and Towels provided. The house is cleaned and linen changed weekly on the changeover day. Other: Separate Dining Room next to the Kitchen, seats 10. Separate Utility Room with Washing Machine and Tumble Dryer.

Just like it is in the Pictures!

Came down to Cornwall for 4 nights for my sister's hen do, the house is exactly how it looks in the photos, which I was pleasently (and greatfully) surprised by!

Tesco is a 5 minute drive and so is the beach. Spacious driveway, bedrooms were all a good size and the house was clean and tidy on arrival. The Lounge had a huge DVD collection of all genres and also a good selection of games, not to mention the stunning view! Kitchen had every utensil you could possibly need and it was great having a seperate larger dining area which had extra chairs if needed.

We opted for the heated pool at an extra cost but was worth it considering we came in the first week of April when the weather was a little chilly. The pool was clean (aside from the few leaves that managed to find their way in) and was also chlorine free which was an added bonus.

David was really helpful and always replied back to messages. All relevent information was given before arrival so it made the trip very smooth and relatively stress free!

Would definitely recommend staying here.

Amazing

We have just come back from what I can only describe as a perfect holiday for the time of year in this country. The house is just fabulous. We have three small dogs and they have had the best time ever in the huge secure garden, also on the dog friendly beach which was only a short ride away. The house is very well equipped with everything to make your holiday effortless. The swimming pool just tops it. The whole family were in there everyday as it is heated to a very nice temperature.

The house is within easy reach of many places that you would want to visit.

This is the first time we have stayed at Beam Reach but I can honestly say it certainly won't be the last. Can't wait for the next time!

Absolutely Fabulous!!

We all had a fantastic holiday in this fabulous location in Cornwall. The family went on holiday to celebrate a 40th birthday. The children thoroughly enjoyed the house and the novelty, that in their eyes, it was an upside down house was great. (The bedrooms being downstairs and the lounge being upstairs!) The pool was used every day and the children even loved night swimming too - having their own private pool was certainly a highlight. The house was very well equipped to accommodate our two families, in fact it had much more than we could have expected. It was very clean and tidy and the gardens themselves are amazing too. All in all a beautiful house which helps to create lasting happy memories.

The location of the house is fabulous with stunning views and lovely coastal walks. A great location for driving to all parts of Cornwall and local amenities are good being only 5 minutes away. As a family we would recommend a trip to Hangloose at the Eden Project if you are adventurous. We all enjoyed the Skywire - the longest zipwire in the UK which reaches speeds of 50mph flying in the 'Superman' position across the top of the Biomes! The children also enjoyed the Giant Swing which launches you out over the clay pit. This is only a 10 minute drive from the property.

We would recommend this house to anybody travelling and staying in Cornwall and would certainly return to the house again. Thank you for sharing your amazing property - it is Absolutely Fabulous!!

Lovely spacious property and beautiful garden

Lovely week in this spacious, light, modern home. Well equipped and laid out with a super lounge on the top floor with great views to the sea. We took 6 teenagers with us, always a challenge, and they thoroughly enjoyed sitting around and swimming in the super pool. The garden was a delight, fully enclosed and safe for the dog.

The coastal path was a short walk away and only 20 minutes to walk to Charlestown where there was a pub and several eateries.

The weather was so good we didn't venture too far from the pool, but we visited The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan; all just a short drive away.

David was great to deal with and responded quickly to any queries we had, we even had a good chat with the gardener! We will be booking again!

Brilliant a holiday you will not regret booking.

Okay where do I start?

Well I could tell you that Beam Reach is clean, well presented and has all the required kitchen utensils but you can read that elsewhere and that is really the boring stuff. Yes there are lots of pots and pans, two cafetieres, a large American fridge and fresh towels and linen everywhere but you don't want to know about that . . . . . . .. . you want to know about the pool!

It's huge, I've seen domestic pools before but this is on a different scale and in length it would not shame a small parish leisure center. It also has a salt water system (not that you'd know) which is something I'd never even realised existed. I can't tell you the science but there is no chlorine added at all and it doesn't even seem particularly salty and is kind on the skin and the eyes.

Booking Notes:
A Deposit of 500 Pounds is required to make a booking. After a 7 day cooling off period, this in not refundable if you decide not to stay.
The remaining balance must be paid 30 days before start of rental period.

A Security Deposit of 500 Pounds is payable with the second payment.
The Security Deposit will be refunded in full if there is no damage to the property.

Changeover Day:
You can arrive anytime after 4pm, and you will need to check-out by 10am.
- June 2016 - changeover day is Friday
- July to October - changeover day is Saturday
For the rest of the year, the changeover day is flexible.

The Pool Heating is ON during during July & August
The pool heating is switched off at other dates, but please speak to us if you would like the pool heating at other times. We are happy to put it on for the cost of the heating.
