Great place, comfortable, clean and modern!

First visit to Mevagissey, and the town was a very pleasant surprise. The flat was great, quiet location but very close to the town. Had a bit of difficulty finding it at first, as the house is set back via a small driveway. The flat was new and modern, very clean and had everything we needed. It was very comfortable, and we wouldn't hesitate to book there again.

Good choice, great location and house

I like details and I can say everything was perfect

The house is new inside and very well equipped

Nice and new kitchen and bathrooms

5 minutes walking from Mevagissey dock

Lorraine is a nice host

To find something to improve it’s not easy. By the way It could be even better to have a bit more basics like shower soap...

Stylish and well equipped

Spacious, well equipped and beautifully presented. I stayed with my 3 children in October and we all loved it. Everything was immaculately clean when we arrived, Lorraine, who has the apartment above, came down to welcome us, and the scones left ready for us were a lovely touch. And how nice to find somewhere set up for families with 3 children, with 3 singles in the second bedroom.

One point to note, although it's central to Mevagissey it's at the top of a very steep hill, so with a 6, 8 and 10 year old in tow we didn't walk into the village centre, we drove down and parked. Otherwise I would have been giving a lot of piggy backs up the hill!

Fantastic

The apartment is the best we have stayed in for comfort,cleanliness and privacy

It is very well equipped very well planned and spacious

We felt at home there

My son has a learning disability and found Mevagissey difficult to get around with its lack of pavements,but we still found lots to do and enjoyed our short stay

I would recommend it to people who enjoy walking and don't mind the busy streets

The apartment is fantastic

There are few holiday places that actually deliver exactly what you see and read about...BUT...Mevagissey and The White House Apartment exceed expectations! The stunning interior and exterior of the property take relaxing to another level as you are surrounded by luxury and beauty. The views from the apartment are stunning and no matter what the weather Mevagissey always has something to offer. Lorraine & Simon are great hosts and have created something truly special with the White House Apartment. We'll definitely be back again!

Distances:

Mevagissey Harbour 5 - 10 min walk, St Austell - 10 min drive, Truro 25 min drive, Eden Project 20 min drive, Lost gardens of Heligan 5 min drive. Falmouth / Newquay 45 min drive - (all times are approx).

Further Details:

Narrow streets and steep valley sides lead down to the centre of old Mevagissey where the distinctive twin harbour provides a safe haven for the many fishing boats that land their daily catch of skate, lobster, plaice and sole. In typical picture postcard style, pubs, cafes, galleries and shops cluster around the harbour walls and line the pretty streets.

Named after two Irish saints, St Meva and St Issey, the village dates back to at least 1313 and during the 1800s Mevagissey prospered on the back of the abundant source of pilchards out to sea. Around the maze of streets you’ll find plenty of seafood restaurants and there is nothing more sublimely Cornish than tucking into some local scallops or mackerel and ending the evening with a walk along the harbour wall with lights of the village twinkling on the water.

Nearby are The Lost Gardens of Heligan which underwent a famous restoration after decades of neglect and now brims with an amazing array of sub- tropical flowers, trees and plants and the Pentewan trail, an easy-going 5 mile round trip from the beach at Pentewan to the village of London Apprentice and back. The trail runs along the bed of an old narrow gauge railway which once took clay and tin ore to the harbour at Pentewan until it silted up and the railway ceased operation in 1916
