Five Mill Lane is our tastefully decorated, luxury self-catering holiday cottage.

The cottage can sleep up to 4 people (with space for a travel cot), and offers the perfect base for exploring Framlingham, the Heritage Coast and all of Suffolk. Located 2 minutes walk from the centre of Wickham Market, 10 minutes drive from historic Framlingham and 15 miles to the coastal resorts of Aldeburgh and Thorpeness.

Featuring a king size bedroom with adjacent bathroom, and a twin bedroom with en-suite facilities, the cottage has been refurbished, decorated and furnished to a very high standard - and has been independently inspected by the official English tourist board and graded 4-star with a "Gold Award".

With a large kitchen diner, and folding sliding doors onto the patio and garden, it is ideal for families or small groups of friends who wish to self-cater but in a property offering high standards of accommodation.

Five Mill Lane is available for weekend (Friday-Monday), mid-week (Monday-Friday) and full week breaks.

About the Owner

We adore Suffolk and the whole area is a bit of a hidden gem that we think more people should discover.

We live in Framlingham, just 5 miles from Five Mill Lane in Wickham Market. We also have a second holiday cottage in Framlingham which dates from the 1500s, and run our own home (a converted windmill!) as a 5-star rated bed and breakfast.

We would love to welcome you to either of our cottages, or our B&B, and a relaxing stay in beautiful Suffolk.

Nice place to stay

We enjoyed our stay in this cottage. It is well equipped and in a quiet place. The whole family had much fun with the "Wii".

The only thing we missed in the description of the cottage is that the stairs are very steep (not suitable for young children or elderly people).

beautiful, relaxing cottage

The cottage and Five Mill Lane, was an amazing and beautiful place to stay, It is a very modern cottage with all the faclities that you need. The cottage is a very clean and well maintained property. The owners were very helpeful by means of contact through e-mails all ways staying in touch right up to the time of our trip and only a phone call away if needed while there, which we did not need to use as everything was just lovely. This really while your away on hoildays felt very homely and like you were a guest in someones home, not just stuck in a motel somewhere. Amazing sights near by sucha as Pebble beach along with amazing historty if you have the time to travel around a bit. Pubs near by if you want to eat out or a local supermarket if you feel like cooking yourself, with everything you need in the Cottage kitchen.

Would most definitely return to the Cottage and recommend this amazing beautiful cottage to anyone wanting to travel. you won't be disappointed.

Absolute joy of a cittage

This property is probably the best equupped self catering we have experienced in many years of holidays in UK. Not only was it clean but in a property that sleeps four to find enough china and cutlery so that it was only necessary to set the dishwasher once a day was a joy. Lovely fluffy towels and comfortable beds were another joy. Thenwe looked in the fridge and found wine, cake, milk and croissants so that we didnt even have to look for the local coop until the next day. Excellent value for money. We will definitely recommend and hope to return later in the year. It was a shame there was no pub in the village within walking distance but there were plenty of eateries a shirt drive away.

Lovely Cottage

My wife & I stayed at this cottage for 4 nights in September. It is well appointed throughout with a super kitchen/dining area with large opening doors which lead onto a well equipped patio. The cottage is located on a quiet lane but has all the facilities of Wickham Market on the doorstep. It is ideal for visiting the many interesting villages and coastal towns nearby. We would recommend this cottage to any one.

We think that Five Mill Lane in Wickham Market is ideally located for discovering Suffolk. Just 2 hours drive or train from London, yet only 15 miles from the coast at Aldeburgh, and only 5 miles from the pretty market town of Framlingham. Tucked away in a lane just off the High Street, Five Mill Lane is 2 minutes' walk from a local supermarket, café, and shops and yet quietly located to relax.

Changeover days are normally Friday or Monday. We rent Five Mill Lane by the week, long weekends (Friday-Monday) and mid-week stays (Monday-Friday). Please contact us directly for our mid-week rates.

You can arrive later than your booking commences, and leave earlier than your booking ends, however prices will be charged to run to/from Mondays/Fridays.

Arrival time is 4.00pm or later, and departure time by around 10.30am.

Wickham Market is a small market town, but within incredibly easy reach of the A12, and the coast, so it is the perfect base for exploring the whole of Suffolk. Perfect for families with a garden and patio area directly accessible from the folding sliding doors in the kitchen/dining area. With an open fire, it still retains it's character and charm of a property from the 1800, but brought right up to date with a large modern fitted kitchen, and full equipped - graded 4-star GOLD by VisitEngland.

  • Your rental includes all bed-linen, towels and tea-towels, plus essentials to get you started such as tea, coffee, salt pepper, dishwasher tablets, etc. A full access statement is available on request however as the cottage dates from early 1800s there are 12 relatively steep stairs to the first floor bedrooms, and some floors upstairs are a little uneven, so may not be suitable for those with restricted mobility. However there are toilet facilities on both the ground and first floors.
