Overview

About the property

Morning Cottage in St Ives, Cornwall, England - Sleeps 6 People, Ideal Location Just Steps From The Town Centre And Beaches

Morning Cottage is perfect for a family holiday. It is close to all the many attractions of St Ives including the beautiful beaches and town, but in a peaceful location. The kitchen is well equipped for your comfort, although there are so many wonderful restaurants, cafes and pubs in St.Ives you probably won't want to cook. The cottage has 3 bedrooms (2 twin and 1 double with king size bed) and sleeps 6. It has a very large living room with comfy seating, TV and electric piano. There is a bathroom with bath and overhead shower as well as a separate cloakroom and also a warm shower outside for washing off the sand after trips to the sea. For the less energetic it is great to sit with a glass of wine on the patio overlooking the sea. The top bedroom has a large window facing the sea and a rocking chair - an ideal place to sit and watch out for dolphins passing by.

About Sarah Bennett

I used to visit my grandmother in St Ives when I was young, and now I have my own house here! I am married with 4 children and we all love spending time in St.Ives

Sarah Bennett purchased this cottage in 2009

Why Sarah Bennett chose St Ives

St Ives is a magical place and so beautiful. I'm not very keen on the seagulls trying to steal my ice-creams but on sunny days I do love to sit on the rocks near the cottage watching out for the porpoises, dolphins and seals that sometimes pass by.

Quirky little property with great views and parking

  • 4 of 5

Had a lovely two weeks in this quirky cottage. The owner, Sarah, was very helpful and easily contactable. My husband had to duck quite a lot but low doorways are the norm for fisherman's cottages in St Ives. There are the added advantages of two toilets, especially for a full house (our party was four adults) and parking for two cars. The views are fantastic from the top floor bedroom and the weather was hot which all added to a great holiday 😊?

Lovely location and very homely

  • 5 of 5

We’ve stayed in many places in St Ives over the years, but this property beats them all hands down in terms of location.

Comfortable, a home from home and with all the amenities you could possibly want (the washing machine is a godsend with a grubby five year old boy!), we made good use of the outdoor shower to wash sandy toes and I enjoyed sitting out in the garden reading my book and watching the waves crash over Porthgwidden after I’d put my son to bed.

In addition, Sarah, the owner, was incredibly helpful and a pleasure to deal with when I had some queries.

With the added bonus of parking, glorious views and a stumble away from the beaches, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to return.

Lovely cottage, great location, perfect views

  • 5 of 5

Our week at Morning Cottage was great. The cottage is well furnished, has a lovely kitchen which we used to cook our fresh fish and seafood landed at Newlyn. The bedrooms are comfy, especially the top floor with views of the beach and harbour. Sarah the owner was very helpful with recommendations for pubs etc. We'll be back!

The only place to book in St Ives!

  • 5 of 5

Having owned property in St Ives, and also been a regular visitor for over 10 years, I think I can speak with some certainty. The four things you want in St Ives from your property are:

PARKING by the property

CENTRAL LOCATION in Downalong as it is a flat walk everywhere

SEA VIEW in this case of two different beaches from the house

CLOSE PROXIMITY to the beach.

All these are met at Morning Cottage and you can even park TWO CARS at the house, not somwhere up the road if you are lucky.

We also appreciate a traditional fishermans house not an apartment with who knows what going on under and over you.

So there you have it, the best location possible and everything inside just lovely. Hope I have not shot myself in the foot for future availability!

A beautiful spacious cottage in prime location.

  • 5 of 5

My family and I spent a fabulous week in St Ives. Morning Cottage is beautifully positioned for the Beach and just a short walk to St Ives harbour. The cottage is very well equipped and very comfortable with plenty of room for 6 adults and a baby and convenient parking.

Wonderful escape to the seaside

  • 5 of 5

We came for a girls holiday and a getaway from the city. Morning Cottage was lovely, very homely and with all facilities we needed. The views from the attic room and kitchen were breathtaking. It was fantastic being only a couple of minutes walk from the beach, we were spoilt was mostly amazing weather whilst we were in St Ives and so we spent a lot of time there! The St Ives festival was on so we had a lot of fun seeing musicians and art instillations over the week. On a raining day we went and painted pots, which we loved and got very into! The food in the area was amazing, endless treats of pasties, fish and chips, pub dinners and bakery goods! We had a wonderful time and will definitely be returning to Morning Cottage and St Ives!

Location

Car: not necessary

Coast/Beach:

There are several beautiful sandy beaches within walking distance of the house. The nearest ones are less than a minute's walk. At Porthwidden and the Harbour beach you can sometimes see seals and dolphins close to the shore. Porthmeor Beach is famous for its excellent surfing and is about 3 minutes walk from the house.

Travel:

It is not essential to have a car in St Ives as there is so much to do locally. There is also an excellent train service running from the top of town, just 15 minutes walk from the cottage, and regular coach trips to a variety of landmarks in the surrounding area. The nearest airport is Newquay, which is about 50 minutes drive from St. Ives

Distances:

Although there are numerous things to see and do in St Ives itself, there are also many attractions within an hour's drive of the cottage. These include the Eden Project, St. Michael's Mount, the Minack Theatre (built into the cliffs), Lands End, Paradise Park (always a favourite of mine!) and The Seal Sanctuary.
