It was built in 2011 to a very high standard and is furnished with contemporary furniture throughout. 155m². 4 large bedrooms, 3 bathrooms. Double height open plan living room/dining/kitchen with huge picture windows. Mezzanine gallery with second TV. Wifi access included. Range of books/dvds/games available. Wood burning stove. Balcony with views over old Veysonnaz, across the Rhone valley to the Bernese Alps - amazing 24/7. Secure heated basement for ski/bike storage. Parking Space. We adore Veysonnaz not just because it is a traditional Swiss alpine village within the fantastic 4 Valleys ski area but also because, in any season, the climate is wonderful, the mountain setting is breathtaking, and the diverse range of activities is fantastic for all ages, abilities and interests. There is so much to entertain children, parents and grand-parents alike - and in any season too!

Why Nicki Hancock chose Veysonnaz

The location is arguably the best in Veysonnaz, all things considered. Being centrally located just off the main street (Route de Pra) it is not just close to the gondola, but also convenient for the concierge, wellness centre, supermarkets, shops, play areas, some friendly bars and excellent restaurants. Yet it is a delightfully quiet, secluded, sunny and relaxing location. To top it all, the views over old Veysonnaz, across the Rhone valley to the Bernese Alps are amazing 24/7. Sun-downers on the balcony are magical!

On a practical note the great transport links (by road, rail & air) are also a real bonus, not just for the relative ease of getting there but also because they make Veysonnaz a great base from which to explore the Alps.

What makes this apartment unique

The ski season starts in mid-December and runs through to mid-April. Veysonnaz is part of one of the world's best ski systems, The vast 4 Valleys region is suitable for people of all abilities and ages - there is truly something for everyone: board parks, world cup race pistes, freeride championships, numerous ski de fond trails, torchlight descents and snow-walking on raquettes. The snow reliability is excellent thanks to the high altitude. This is the same ski area that encompasses Verbier but Veysonnaz is quieter and less expensive. Even during the peak season there are virtually no queues and it still retains its peaceful small resort charm. Away from the crowds and the queues, but with easy access to the vast 4 Valleys, Veysonnaz is truly a hidden gem.

"We stayed in this superb apartment in September 2013. We travelled from the U.K. by car (544 miles from Calais) on motorway or near motorway roads until the short climb to the resort. Very easy journey. We brought frozen meals for the first few days which makes catering simple too. The apartment was excellent: well located within the village and having stunning views over the valley and mountains. Veysonnaz has several restaurants, a few pleasant bars and a small selection of shops. The apartment was extremely well furnished and very comfortable. A car parking space was outside the door. The area is very good for walking and cycling, and we will certainly go again and try the skiing season and would also like to revisit to see the mountain flowers sometime."

"We have stayed at this wonderful chalet twice now during the ski season. The chalet is very well equipped, comfortable and has amazing views across the valley. The chalet is in a great location in the heart of the Veysonnaz - just a 5 minute walk to the gondola, a 1 minute walk to a great coffee shop and patisserie for a morning croissant. The ski area is large and Veysonnaz is well connected to the rest of the 4 valleys. We had a great week of ski-ing and managed to get across to Verbier for lunch on our last visit."

Summer Holiday Sun & Fun Club

Many people overlook the Swiss Alps as a destination for any season. The mountains are beautiful during spring and summer when they are verdant and lush. Autumn on the other hand is a technicolour of yellow, orange and red hues - quite different from the white winter wonderland most people envisage. A unique micro-climate provides over 300 days of sunshine per year and a Mediterranean climate. The area is idyllic for a wide range of outdoor activities, providing opportunities to take in the amazing scenery of Veysonnaz and the Valais region.

The Valaisans have a multitude of local traditions and festivals which take place throughout the spring and summer months. The "inaple" ascent of the cows to the pastures in June and the famous Combat des Reines cow fighting festivals between the combative Eringer cows of the Valais are traditions that are still alive and well here. The International Alpenhorn Festival is held at the end of July at Tracouet.


Lac Leman is 1 hour away with it's lakeside towns of Montreuz & Vevey, beaches and watersports.
