Secure Villa In Quiet, Gated Residence, Private Parking & Lovely Secluded Garden

Updated: 31-Jul-2016
Villa in Cap d'Agde, Herault, Languedoc-Roussillon, France - Beaches And Centre Port With Its Restaurants Shops And Bars Are An Easy 15 Minute Stroll Away

When we bought our little villa in Cap d’ Agde we considered the following criteria: • It must be in a warm area, i.e. in the south. • It must be easy to get to in the shortest possible time, with flights not costing an arm and a leg! • It must be near good beaches for safe family swimming. • It must be near shops and services. • It must have its own secure private garden for sunbathing and for the children to be able play safely. • A car must not be a necessity. Shops, restaurants, services, doctors, beaches, tennis, tourist information etc., must only be no more than 15 minutes walk and the airport must only be a short taxi ride (less than ten miles). • Having said that a car must not be necessary, it must have its own private secure parking. We found our little house, in Le Cap d’Agde, in the Languedoc Roussillon region to fit the bill in all of the above respects. In addition it is near the historical town of Agde and has some beautiful drives to picturesque villages not far away. It also benefits from the security of being in a gated residence, with a place to park the car in its own private driveway. The rear garden overlooks an attractive wooded area which is a way down to one of the many nearby excellent beaches.

About the Owner

I am French and living in the south of England with my English husband and son of 11 who is bi-lingual, thanks to many holidays in Le Cap d'Agde. We love our little house in this popular resort with 14 km of beaches, and sun all year long, and feel sorry every time we lock the front door to come home!

We purchased our Villa in 2003 because, despite being walking distance to the beach and centre port, it is in a secure residence with electric gates and is safe for children playing.

A car is not necessary, so sometimes we fly to nearby Cap d'Agde/Beziers and sometimes we drive.

Convenient, pleasant, a great little getaway

  • 4 of 5

Firstly the property, it's not big, not small, for a family with sons (10 and 12), it was ideal. It was comfortable, with the important mod cons, such as dishwasher. No wifi, no TV, but we didn't really miss these.

The property is in a gated development, within a short walk of the beach, and the town's lovely harbour area. The beach is great, plenty of facilities, nice sandy beach.

The harbour area is nice in the evenings, plenty of restaurants and bars. A car is quite handy if you're planning to drive down, though the traffic can build up at times, since it's an extremely popular area.

It's not exactly one of the top end French resorts, but I think it's all the better for that. It's more of a proper French holiday, with lots of normal French families enjoying their holidays, or spending their entire summer down there.

The weather was perfect in July, a little hot towards midday, but the villa featured an efficient air conditioner in the main room.

Near to the Villa there is a cycle trail, which follows the coast. If you take bicycles, it's a great place to cycle.

Overall we would highly recommend the villa, and we look forward to going back there in the future.

Quiet location but short walk from amenities

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Sophie and Tom's lovely villa this summer. It is located in a gated, and very quiet private community, but is only a short walk to the bustling harbour, shops and beach. The house was clean and well-presented and has a rustic feel to it. One of its best features is a wonderful secluded, sun-trap of a rear garden and terrace. This got a lot of use, all times of the day, but especially in the evening for long, lazy dinners outdoors. We certainly plan to return again.

Peaceful stay in a charming villa

  • 5 of 5

We holidayed for the first time in the South of France last year and now we are preparing to return to the same little house at Cap D'Agde.

The property is set in a gated community, with a good mix of both residential and holiday lets. We found this to be most helpful as the locals were more than willing to suggest the best places to visit while we were there.

The property sleeps up to four in two comfortable double beds. It has air conditioning, a secluded patio and lots of peace and quiet.

The beach, town and beautiful harbour are all within walking distance and there are plenty of good places to eat without using a car.

We flew from Luton airport and it was just a two hour hop to Bizier and then only a further 7 km to Cap D'Agde.

From the Owner

We chose our Villa in le Cap d'Agde because, of easy access by road, the A75 (due North/South and the main route to Spain) via beautiful scenery and the spectacular Viaduct de Millau, the world's highest road bridge. Also, the nearby Cap d'Agde/Beziers airport now has flights from many UK airports by Ryanair. these are at fantastic prices all year round. Despite being walking distance to the beach and centre port, the villa is in a secure residence with electric gates and is safe for children playing. A car is not necessary, so sometimes we fly to nearby Cap d'Agde/Beziers and sometimes we drive.

Sailing, swimming, golf, International Tennis Centre, spectacular beaches, and the Cap d'Agde's many restaurants, bars and shops are all within walking distance. In the evenings you don't need to bother taking the car! Aqua Land and the famous Isle de Loisirs amusement park with its many big white-knuckle rides are walking distance, or a very pleasant Coche d'Eau ride across the port, a must to try at least once at night!
