Grade 2 Listed Granite Fisherman's 2B Cottage w/ Sea Views & Open Fire, Sleeps 4

Overview

Property

Cottage in Sennen Cove, Cornwall, England - Peaceful Location Off Main Thoroughfare But Only Minutes From The Beach, Cafe And Gallery

Cormorant is a very pretty two bedroomed cottage with sea views and an open fire. Built as a Coastguard House between 1800-1850 it retains all the character of an old Grade 2 listed cottage whilst benefiting from a full and sensitive renovation. It is situated off the main thoroughfare at Sennen Cove on an unmade track. This gives it a quiet secluded setting whilst still only being a stone's throw from the sea front. Sennen Cove at the very furthest tip of the Cornish Peninsular is a fabulous location for a holiday. It has a broad sweeping sandy beach, perfect for sun seekers, surfers and anglers. it has all the ingredients too for the little ones, with white sand, pools and streams for endless play. Dolphins, seals and basking sharks are regularly seen in the bay. The small village stretched along the seafront has a very good pub, restaurant, cafes, gallery and shops. Linked to the coastal path, the cliff walks in both directions allow access to some of the most beautiful coastal scenery anywhere.

About the Owner

.We bought Cormorant in 2005 from a very old and dear friend. Being a real eccentric he loved it in its very rough untouched state. When we bought it we had to do a major renovation as there was no bathroom or loo and not even running water. We were thrilled to own it as many years previously it had been owned by Robert's relatives who were fishermen working in the Cove. For us it meant a lot. We were therefore very keen to keep as many of the traditional features as possible whilst modernising the kitchen and making space for a bathroom. We think it is a wonderful property and we hope you will too.

Valentine's weekend at Cormorant Cottage

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent a lovely weekend at Cormorant Cottage in February 2015. We found the cottage to be spotlessly clean, well organised and very comfortable for a proper mini-holiday with our dog. We loved the open fire and the cosy living room, efficient modern kitchen with dining area, and the views and noise of the waves were so relaxing and beautiful. We would recommend this cottage for a perfect, quiet getaway with plenty of lovely walks and cosy fires. We were made to feel very welcome with little touches like plenty of kindling, some tea/coffee & fresh milk. You can see some pics of our holiday here: http://bit.ly/1Cv9DvS
