Seagulls, Starfish and Butterfly Rest are stunning contemporary self catering bungalows within St Ives Holiday Village. Both properties have been totally renovated and are set in a peaceful area with woodland views from all windows. The interiors are fresh and contemporary with an open plan kitchen / living room, leading to a double bedroom,twin bed room and a family bathroom. The bungalows are a perfect place to recharge your batteries and so are an ideal retreat for couples. Families with small children will love the seaside themed interior aspect and the properties are just far enough from the car park to warrant a reasonably safe enough place for children and parents to relax outside. The 2 double front aspect doors open fully to let the outdoors in, and the woodland is literally on your doorstep. The beaches and hustle and bustle of St Ives are only about a 10 minute drive away, allowing you to then return back to your peaceful retreat at the end of the day for a nice deserved glass of wine on the patio. All the amenities of St Ives Holiday Village are a 5 minute walk away and can be used if you wish and are currently open late March to October. ( charges may apply). Both bungalows boasts a truly unique setting where all manners of wildlife can be viewed from inside and out. Rabbits, squirrels, jays, robins,finches and of course seagulls regularly visit, and cuckoos, woodpeckers and owls can often be heard.

Double glazing, underfloor heating, and a log effect electric stove make them a cosy year round retreat for couples and families. A real hidden gem !

Outside private 'pebble beach' dining area with picnic table and chairs. Directly facing the woodland where a host of wildlife can be observed. Outside light and candle lanterns provided. Your very own pebble beach in the woods. Bliss!

Hi - my name is Tina and my husbands name is Mike and we are the owners of these lovely bungalows.

After travelling from Yorkshire to Cornwall for our holidays for the past 20 years, we eventually made the plunge to 'emigrate ' down here 3 years ago. The idea was to move down here for a less hectic pace of life and everything was going to plan until 1 day I spotted a holiday bungalow for sale and hauled my lovely husband off to view it. It was a real mess but I saw straight past its dated, smelly interior and could instantly see the swan lurking within. So - we bought it and the hard work began. Mike doesn't do anything by halves so within a week or so it was knocked back to a bare shell and then the real work started !

We worked every minute we could, and when we werent physically working I was ordering and planning, and eventually after spending twice as much as we intended,we were almost there. . Every evening 2 Seagulls would visit us, firstly landing on the roof and then making their way to the front door requesting any left overs we had. This is why we decided to call it ' Seagulls Rest ' ..

Mike ( who like I said never does things in halves), then wanted to buy more , so the whole renovation process started again with Starfish and then Butterfly Rest. We have learnt by our mistakes along the way, and there were times during all the hard work, that I wished that I had never seen the advertisement, but the end result is that our hard work has paid off.. We now have 3 beautiful bungalows available which I personally manage myself. It is hard work but I am from Yorkshire and I believe that if you " want a good job doin - then do it yer Sen!"

I am always available for potential guests to phone me (07899962463), and will always answer any questions you have openly and honestly. If I think my bungalows aren't for you I will say so, as I would rather you not book than book and then be disappointed in anyway. X

Beautiful and spotless bungalow. Great location with a bus that runs from the holiday park into st Ives.

The little surprise of fizz and cake made our day after a long drive down!

Beautiful, clean and bright.

From the booking process through to departure Tina was very helpful and welcoming and made us feel that we had definitely chosen the right place to holiday with our two girls. Seagulls is beautiful, great use has been made of the space which is very clean and homely with everything you need. We received a count down plaque for the girls and received very thoughtful welcome gifts which all added to the experience of dealing with someone who wants to ensure her guests have a great holiday.

The girls loved playing in the woods outside every morning and evening, they were able to have some freedom in a safe environment, made friends and saw lots of different wildlife, their favourite being the squirrel who came every morning and evening for nuts!

Great base to explore the rest of Cornwall and the bus from the holiday park was hassle free and took us right into St Ives.

Would definitely recommend this property to anyone wanting to have a peaceful and beautiful base to relax and explore all Cornwall has to offer, top holiday!!

Wonderful place

Seagulls Rest is a wonderful place. Clean, contemporary and well furnished and located in beautiful woodland. Lovely walks are right on your doorstep. The best thing though is the owner's attention to detail - even down to the bird feeders outside topped up for your arrival. A wonderful stay. Absolutely recommended!!

A lovely relaxing break

We were looking for a place to stay for a short break, near to St Ives and Hayle as I have family close by, but suitable for a toddler and with parking. Seagull's Rest was the perfect option for us! Tina was so helpful from the first enquiry and right through the booking process. The property was beautifully maintained, clean and in a lovely quiet spot. Our three year old son couldn't have been more excited to see a family of rabbits living outside his bedroom window! Lovely personal touches like a cake, bottle of fizz and a bucket and spade for our son on arrival made it even more special. Thank you for a lovely, relaxing break Tina! x

Perfect weekend

What a fantastic place to stay! Set in woodland it was extremely peaceful, ideal for a relaxing break away. Close to the station for the St Ives railway and a few miles drive to Carbis Bay and St Ives. The bungalow was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated throughout with so much attention to detail. The owner, Tina, has thought about everything her guests may need during their stay with a very well equipped kitchen and also games and dvds to enjoy. The bottle of wine and cake on arrival were a lovely touch - thank you. We only dined out one evening as we wanted to make the most of this fabulous little place. Tina was extremely friendly and so easy to contact, the booking process was simple and our enquiry was answered immediately. Have nothing negative to say about this place and if in Cornwall again we will definitely be back!

Lovely place to stay

Property was spotlessly clean and decorated really tastefully. We saw loads of different kinds off bird including 3 woodpeckers and the walks round the woodlands are excellent. Its very conveniently located for days and nights out in st Ives and surrounding area. Near to great scenic train ride along the coast to St Ives and Carbis bay. Well worth the drive down. I will be honest - because of the dreadful state they were in, they were relatively cheap ! Also as soon as I walked in I had a vision of what they could become. Slowly as they started to come together that vision became a reality and the think that pleases me the most is when guests text me when they arrive and say " wow Tina this is gorgeous , I love the attention to detail, you have though of everything ".. Believe me I try very hard ! X

Horse Riding. -- Old Mill Stables is an ABRS approved riding school just outside the entrance to the park. It is a 5 minute walk away.Telephone number 01736 753045


Porthkidney is a dog friendly beach approx 5 minute drive.

Carbis bay is approx 5 to 10 minute drive.

St Ives beaches are approx 10 minute drive but can also be accessed via local train or a bus services.


A car is the easiest way to arrive and get around but not essential.

Newquay airport is approx 40 minute drive away with hire cars available.

Main train line runs to Penzance and St Erth, where a taxi can be taken to the park.

Public transport runs directly to and from the park at certain times of the year.


Nearest airport = Newquay 30 miles

Nearest ferry = Penzance 6 miles

Nearest train = Lelant saltings 1.5 miles

Nearest motorway = M5 110 miles

St Ives = 10 minute drive

lands End = 35 minute drive

Falmouth = 40 minute drive

St Ives comes into its own during the Christmas period and is a great place to do Christmas shopping. Its unique gift shops are stocked with local art, cornish clothing and unusual stocking fillers. Exploring the beautiful lanes of shops is a pleasure, before calling into one of the many quaint tea rooms for refreshments.

New Year in St Ives has become a famous celebration with street parties, fireworks,and almost compulsory fancy dress. The electrifying party atmosphere spills out from the bars and restaurants and onto the streets with an amazing midnight climax. Not for the faint hearted but definitely not to be missed.

Close by Angarrack, ( the secret village hidden away behind the M&S / Next retail park ) , comes alive during the festive period when they welcome everyone into the village with a spectacular christmas light display. The not too far away village of Mousehole also has an amazing harbour light display each evening from December 14th to January 3rd.

A refundable cleaning / damage deposit of £100 is required.

A £100 unrefundable deposit is required to secure the booking with the balance becoming payable 6 weeks prior to holiday start date.

Prior written consent must be obtained from the owner before any pets are taken into the holiday cottage. A £30 charge is also applicable.

Changeover Day:
Change over day = Changeable / as agreed at time of booking.

Arrival time is after 4pm and departure time is before 10am. The key is located in a secure locked box and guests will be given the code prior to arrival.

Notes on prices:
Holiday cancellation insurance is the responsibility of the guests and is NOT included in any of the prices.

Prices can be changed at the owners discretion.

Prices include cost of electricity and the use of bed linen and tea towels.

£100 deposit is required to secure the booking with the remaining balance being due 6 weeks before arrival.

From the Owner

Apart from the bungalows lovely seaside themed interiors, the location of my bungalows is what I most love about them. The squirrels literally do come right up to the windows requesting their breakfast, and the woodland walks are a joy. The bedroom windows back right onto the dense woodland and if you take the time to stand and gaze all manners of wildlife can be seen. One very late summer evening, ( when I had the unusual pleasure of staying in Starfish Rest, beacause I had family staying), I went outside for some fresh air and 2 young foxes were nosing around in the grassy area literally 2 yards away from where I was quietly sat. You are surrounded by wildlife, all you have to do is take the time to look. On the other hand however, all the hustle and bustle of St Ives is a short 10 minute drive away. During the summer months, parking in St Ives can be a bit of a nightmare, and this is where the open topped bus service becomes very useful. It currently runs from Spring Bank until September, and pulls right into the holiday village at least hourly, and runs into St Ives or Penzance. It's last return visit from St Ives is quite late so it is ideal for meal out with a few drinks in St Ives, without anybody having to be the designated driver. Another way to travel into St Ives without the hassle of parking the car is to use the park and ride at the bottom of the hill and catch the train in. The views from the train along the coast are second to none and a family park and ride pass is very reasonable, and the station in St Ives is literally a couple of minutes walk from the beach. I personally manage and clean all 3 of my holiday let's, and try to get to know as much as I can about my potential guests without coming across as nosey! This is so that I can make them as personally inviting as I can, So please tell me as much about yourself. I am genuinely interested and try to make your holiday in my bungalows as pleasant as possible . Please phone me anytime X
