Oak Cottage Sleeps 2 (1 Bedroom)

Oak Cottage is one of two adjoining cottages, all at ground level, designed for two people and set in quiet countryside. The comfortable lounge has leather armchairs, gas 'wood burner' effect fire, colour t.v. (Free sat), books and games and leads to the well equipped kitchen/diner with gas cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer and washing machine. The bedroom has either two full size single beds, or one super king-size bed - you choose! The bed(s) are made up ready for your arrival. The en-suite bathroom has a w.c. hand basin, corner bath and separate shower cubicle. Free Wi-fi is available, also central heating for the cooler weeks. The garden and patio area is enclosed with bushes, giving privacy and some shade at all times of day. Heating, electricity and bedding are all inclusive, but if you require towels, there is a small extra charge per person.

About the property


Our cottages are set in quiet countryside on the edge of the Pembrokeshire National Park and very conveniently situated for visiting the many towns and villages, beaches and beauty spots in both Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire, including Saundersfoot, Tenby, Narberth, Pendine,Laugharne, Colby Woodland gardens, Aberglasney and the Botanic Gardens of Wales to name but a few. The two cottages are adjoining and share a courtyard and car park with our own property and have their own private gardens. They are finished internally to a high standard, with comfort and cleanliness paramount to our presentation.

About Barbara Day

We have been holiday letting since 1986. Now semi-retired,we love our corner of Pembrokeshire and are pleased to be able to share it with others who also appreciate the peace, quiet, nature and beauty. We are always happy to offer our guests help and advice on where to visit and forward interesting information from previous guests, if required.

Why Barbara Day chose Pembroke, Tenby, Saundersfoot & The South Coast

We were hooked the first time we saw this property and its location. It is peaceful and quiet, with views over farmland to Carmarthen Bay. Within half an hour, you can be in a town, up a hill or at almost any of the beauty spots in Pembrokeshire and quite a few in Carmarthenshire as well!

Changeover day is Saturday. Bookings run from 3 p.m. on the day of your arrival to 10.00 a.m. on the day you leave. We may vary this for short breaks by arrangement.

Notes on accommodation: We will accept 1 pet, strictly by prior arrangement with ourselves. Service dogs are welcome, but please inform us when booking. Outside: A small, private garden with patio and patio furniture is provided with your cottage. There is a courtyard to the front, shared with the other cottage and ourselves, with access off to the car park, all enclosed within the boundaries of the property.

Lovely Clean Cozy Cottage

Ideal location for exploring Pembrokeshire. The cottage contains everything you would need for an enjoyable stay. It is equipped to a very high standard and is spotlessly clean and cozy with gas fire and central heating. Decorated to a high standard, the cottage is exactly as you see it in the photo. Very friendly and approachable owners who go out of their way to make your stay as pleasurable as possible. Highly Recommended to friends and relatives. It was recommended to me by my parents who have stayed here on many occasions. This is the second time I have stayed here and will be returning again.

Well located but bedroom and lounge need updating

Rather dark and smelly, kitchen utensils include 1 bent and burnt wooden spoon, 1 old serving implement 1 old spatula, no ventilation in the kitchen. Seriously needs updating. When we complained about the 'Luxury King-sized bed' (4 inch lumpy mattress) the owner walked out. But his wife did go and get a mattress topper which meant we could at least get to sleep. Its a pity because this could be nice if they spent some money on it.

Owner's Response: Our cottages were refurbished just 4 seasons ago and since that time we have received only compliments, particularly regarding comfort and cleanliness. We dealt with the comment regarding the bed, to the customers satisfaction, within 12 hours of receiving the e-mail and were not made aware of any other issues at that time, but note that it is well documented that the drying of laundry in an enclosed space quickly creates an unpleasant smell. It is unfortunate that our cottage did not meet customer expectations on this occasion.
