Located on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Langourla near the town of Dinan, our luxurious, modern Barn and Charming Cottage offer the perfect setting for exploring The Cotes D'armor. The properties themselves sit in a rural area making them the perfect setting for outdoor activities including cycling, canoeing, swimming, walking and there is a beautiful golf course a short drive away in Pleneuf Val Andre. In the village is also a fishing lake with fitness trail, providing a peaceful evening walk. The properties are within walking distance of the local amenities include, a shop, 2 bars and a bar/restaurant. The renowned Jazz Festival takes place in the village during August.

The Barn

Luxurious, modern newly renovated 3 bedroom barn with large sitting room with a wood burning stove for the cooler evenings and fully fitted kitchen including a microwave, cooker, fridge, freezer and six seater dining table. Utility room with washing machine and dryer. Downstairs toilet. Satellite TV with video. Upstairs, bedrooms: 1 king with en-suite shower room and satellite TV, 1 double and 1 twin. Luxury family bathroom. The upstairs is carpeted. Underfloor heating downstairs. Patio and BBQ with furniture to seat six. We also provide Mamas and Papas baby accessories which include cot, highchair, changing mat, 2 stair gates, baby bouncer and step up stool at no extra cost.

The Charming Cottage

Our delightfully renovated 3 bedroom cottage with sitting room has a wood burning stove for the cooler evenings and fully fitted kitchen including a microwave, cooker, fridge, freezer, six seater dining table and washing machine. Downstairs toilet and shower room. Satellite TV with video. Upstairs, bedrooms: 1 double 2 x twin. Family bathroom. Outside: Patio and BBQ with furniture to seat six.

Although next door to each other, The Barn and The Charming Cottage are independent of each other, have separate gardens and patios, and can be booked separately. Alternatively for larger parties of 6-12 people, both properties can be booked.

Dinan is without doubt one of the most attractive and best preserved medieval towns in Brittany. With its 1.8 mile (3km)-long ramparts, half-timbered houses, attractive port and cobbled streets filled with art galleries and craft shops, it is a great day out. Nearby Merdrignac, has an outdoor swimming pool, crazy golf and a beautiful lake. Canoeing is available at Hunaudaye lake. Pleneuf Val Andre and Erquy are great for those who prefer the prom and shops while enjoying a day at the beach, the menus at the many seafood restaurants are also well worth visiting. Further south are some beautiful sandy beaches and the idyllic town of La Trinité-sur Mer, great places to explore with lots of marinas and beautiful scenery. The town of Carnac is approximately 1 hour 20 mins away a must for anyone interested in archaeology. The Carnac Stones are an exceptionally dense collection of megalithic sites around the French village of Carnac, in Brittany, consisting of alignments, dolmens, tumuli and single menhirs.

About the Owner

We are two families, The Brown family and The Yates family. The Browns purchased the house originally, after spending many years holidaying in France and really enjoyed the country and the laid back way of life. The Yates family joined in the venture four years later, to renovate the property. We take pride in our achievement of the finished house and love to spend time there ourselves.

We visited many different areas, but Langourla was the place for us. It's a lovely tranquil village with many amenities close by. The residents of Langourla are very friendly and really do make it a home from home.

Coast/Beach:

Pleneuf Val Andre and Erquy are approximately a 45 minute drive and have beautiful beaches as well as shops and restaurants.

Travel:

Nearest Ferry Port: St Malo approx 60 minutes drive.

Nearest Airport: Dinard approx 60 minutes drive.

Car is essential.

Distances:

Picturesque Langourla is approx a 15 min walk and provides 3 bars and 2 shops. Merdrignac is approx 15 min drive and has large supermarket, shops, bars, an outdoor swimming pool, crazy golf and a beautiful lake. Dinan approx 45 min drive is a most attractive and preserved medieval town. Further south are beautiful beaches and the idyllic town of La Trinité-sur Mer, with lots of marinas and beautiful scenery. It is an explicit condition of our letting, you have our cottage or Barn for the period booked by you, that we shall not be held responsible for any theft,accident,injury or mishap howsoever caused, either to persons or belongings, in or around our property, during your stay at the barn or cottage. We therefore strongly recommend that you take out adequate travel,accident & sickness insurance, for all members of your party for the duration of your stay in Langourla, as is normal practice.

Terms and Conditions

Arrival and Departure

1. Please arrive at the property from 4pm onwards on day of arrival. You must vacate the property by 10am on the date of departure.

2. Please ensure all used bed linen and towels are left in the kitchen on day of departure.

3. Please make sure that all lights are switched off and windows are closed on departure day.

4. Please leave the key in the key safe on departure day.

5. Please ensure that all used crockery and cutlery has been washed and put away.

6. Please do not feed the neighbours cats. It encourages them to sit outside the house and not all our guests would appreciate that.

  • Notes on accommodation: Bed linen and towels are included in the cost. All beds are made up on your arrival. Ideally the property must be vacated by 10am on changeover day and arrival time is 4pm to allow for cleaning of the property. Outside: Outside the property is a private patio with BBQ and furniture to seat 6 people. There is also a childrens playarea with slide and swings. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are included. The property is cleaned thoroughly before and after each booking. We do not charge for the cleaning, but ask that you leave the property in a clean state or a charge could occur.
