These character cottages are set in the grounds of Portclew House Country Guesthouse, an ideal location for any holiday. Each cotage has its own car parking space and private garden/patio with patio furniture, however guests of the cottages are welcome to use the spacious grounds surrounding the guesthouse which are the perfect place to play family games or just while the time away. We are positioned close to the coastal footpath and sandy beaches.

The Coach House (Sleeps 8-9). The Coach House has 4 spacious bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bath/shower room, comprising of two double rooms, one twin bedded room and one bunk bedded room. There is plenty of space for an extra bed or cot in one of the double bedrooms, sleeping a maximum of 9 people. The large well lit kitchen has a range cooker and freezer and also a large ash dining table which has plenty of room to seat everyone around for those special family meals. There is a spacious lounge with plenty of comfortable seating. This building was originally a stable and cart house with the stable hands sleeping upstairs. The lawn to the front and side of the cottage is the perfect place to have a barbecue or dine outside on the garden furniture.

Gardeners Cottage (Sleeps 2-4) Gardeners Cottage has just one double bedroom with room for a cot/extra bed, together with a sofa bed in the lounge area. The ground floor bathroom has a bath with shower over. The cottage has a well appointed kitchen with pine dining table and chairs, which leads into the garden. The beamed ceiling gives the lounge area a warm, cosy atmosphere. This outbuilding was used to store the gardeners tools and equipment.

The Upper Old Farmhouse is situate on the first floor of this detached building. It has one double bedroom and one twin bedroom and has a sofa bed in the lounge area. The bathroom is light and spacious and has a bath with a shower over.

The Old Farmhouse is a large building which was originally the home of the Farm Manager and lends itself to be converted into two separate units. The Upper Old Farmhouse is accessed via an original external staircase and has a well equipped kitchen and living area. The Lower Old Farmhouse is situate on the ground floor of this property. It has one double bedroom and one twin bedroom and has a sofa bed in the lounge area. The bathroom has a separate shower and bath. This accommodation has a rear door from the living room leading onto the garden. The kitchen is well equipped with fridge/freezer, dishwasher etc to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

Special interest holidays:

Pembroke Town is just a few miles away when a visit to Henry VII's birthplace at Pembroke Castle is a must. Bosherston lily ponds should not be missed nor St. Govan's Chapel.

We are ideally located for all beach lovers and water sport enthusiasts who should visit the bays at Freshwater East, West Angle, Manorbier, Tenby, Broadhaven South, Freshwater West and not forgetting the paradise found at the hidden bay of Barafundle.

Heatherton Country Park, where you can try your hand at such activities as golf, archery, go-karting and paint balling.

Folly Farm is a must for the younger visitors to the area. This Adventure Park and Zoo has plenty of indoor and outdoor entertainment.

We are positioned close to the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park coastal footpath where you can experience some of the most breath taking views in Pembrokeshire and catch glimpses of the many species of birds and wildlife that inhabit this wonderful coastline.

Coast/Beach:

The bay of Freshwater East is just ½ mile away and is within walking distance although there is quite a steep hill to climb back up. However there is a car park at the bottom of the hill with a flat walk onto the beach. There are plenty of other beaches to visit within a few miles including the Barafundal Bay which has been voted amongst the best in the world.

Travel:

We are just 1.5 miles from the nearest train station in Lamphey. The public bus service also runs from Lamphey. There is also a coastal bus route called ‘The Coastal Cruiser’ which runs right passed our property a few times a day (every day in peak season) and is ideal if you wish to walk the coastal path just one way.

Distances:

There is a small mini-market at the petrol station in Lamphey just 1.5 miles away where you can get your day to day essentials. Supermarkets can be found in Pembroke, Pembroke Dock and Tenby. For lovely gift ideas and galleries you should visit Narberth.

Further Details:

There is a pub in our village, The Freshwater Inn, which is within walking distance just ¼ mile, and another place down by the beach. In the nearby village of Lamphey you can find The Dial Inn, Lamphey Hall Hotel and The Court Hotel. Stackpole has a very good pub which appears in the Good Food Guide called Stackpole Inn and there is also a good eating place in Jameston called The Tudor Lodge. All the villages around and about have good places to get a meal and in Tenby you are spoilt for choice.

A 25% deposit is payable at the time of booking. All cheques should be made payable to Portclew Cottages. The balance of your booking is due 4 weeks before your arrival date. In the absence of payment being received by this date we reserve the right to cancel the reservation and all deposits previously paid my be forfeited. Bookings will not be accepted by persons under the age of 21 years. The Tenant shall leave the cottage in a clean and tidy condition at the end of the let.

Changeover Day:
Friday and Monday. Short breaks are available except during school holidays.
