About the property

Cottage in Almondbury, Nr. Huddersfield, Yorkshire, England - An Ideal For Walking Or Touring Centre

Cruck Cottage is surrounded by beautiful countryside and is the ideal base to explore the area. A network of footpaths from the garden gate will take you in 10 minutes to the Iron Age site on the summit of Castle Hill to enjoy wonderful views across Huddersfield and the tributary valleys, or on easy rambles through woods and fields or longer hikes over the Pennine moors. The Peak District and Bronte country are both within easy driving distance, as are the excellent shopping centres of Leeds, Manchester and Sheffield for those in search of a little retail therapy. There is plenty of culture to be found in the area with local museums, a theatre, galleries of nationally known artists, and many musical events, including the 10 day Contemporary Music Festival which attracts artists from all over the world. There are craft shops and mill shops, open markets and flea markets and the largest number of Grade II listed buildings outside Bath!

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: The main bedroom is a family room which can also be used as a twin. The fact that the second bedroom is a single room means that it is not suitable for two couples. We accept one dog after a telephone discussion, but, sorry, no cats. Outside: There is no private garden but there is access to fields through the back gate. Parking is by the front door of the cottage. Utility Room: There is no separate utility room but the washing machine and dryer are in the arched cellar, thus minimising any noise and steam. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bedlinen, towels and tea towels are included in the price. The property is cleaned between visits with bedding and towels changed weekly.
