A gorgeous detached cottage, ‘Neil’s Worden Barn’ is a lovingly converted former grain barn (converted during 2002) in a rural setting, on a quiet country lane 1 mile outside Bradworthy village, 9 miles from Bude beach resort, North Cornwall. Sandymouth excellent sandy beach is 6 miles. Under 2 miles to the fabulous Tamar Lakes Water Park and Nature reserve with hire facilities for canoeing, windsurfing, kayaking, sailing & coarse fishing (Carp up to 30 lb and with a good head of 20 lbs, perch, roach, bream,Rudd, Eels). Upper Lake has a large cafe/restaurant with cream teas and a range of food. Adjacent is a child’s activities area with climbing frames, swings etc. The nature element of the Lakes has been developed over recent years with miles of circular walks, Bird Hides on both upper and Lower Lakes, you can even walk from the lakes into Bude along the Bude Canal which flows out from Lower Lake.Further afield in North Devon is the famous fishing village of Clovelly. Visit Hartland Abbey impressive country home (about 9 miles away, privately owned). The barn was converted during early 2002 to provide higher standard and very inviting accommodation, retaining the character of the original building. Small garden area. Bradworthy village has a lovely thatched pub (good food,beer garden) and General Stores shop. Combines a quiet tranquil country setting but with easy access to beaches, the spectacular coastline (miles of beach and cliff walks),amenities of Bradworthy village, Tamar Lakes. Nearby BUde offer many attractions including rowing (Boat hire) up Bude CAnal, a huge free open air beach swimming pool, stunning cliff walks.

Lovely barn conversion, quiet country setting but near Bude beaches. Water Sports and fishing at nearby Tamar Lakes and Nature reserve near Bradworthy.

Activity and Interests

Special interest holidays:

There are 2 lakes with water sports hire and coarse fishing. There are wooded areas and lovely circular walks including a cycle trail. The lakes are home to various bird species and there are bird watching dens which visitors are able to use. Typical circular walks around the lakes takes 1 hour! Upper Lake is the newer of the two lakes and the largest at 80 acres. There is a visitors centre with car parking, a cafe/restaurant and children’s play area with climbing frames etc. A little further on is the sports centre with canoe, kayak,windsurfing and dinghy hire. This lake is one of the top coarse fishing match competition centres. Carp up to 30 lbs; 50lbs bags of bream and 20 lbs bags of Rudd can be expected; also perch,eels. At the end of the day drop into the thatched 16th cent family run Bradworthy Inn (restaurant, Beer Garden) at Bradworthy a just 2 miles away.
