My husband David have always lived in Sussex. We have five children, two of which are twins, and two grandchildren.

We share our home with Sadie our dog. She is a very loving but crazy Labradoodle!

I enjoy cooking and baking cakes. David is a keen gardener, and enjoys tennis. We both enjoy long walks on the beach and in the local countryside.

Excellent facilities and value for money

This was about the best quality for value cottage that we have ever stayed in. There were all the facilities you could have asked for and everything was clean, tidy and new. The cottage had loads of character and even though it looked small on the outside, it proved to be like the Tardis and opened up into a roomy, light interior that was ample for a couple as well as big enough to provide some privacy for a family. It was in an excellent location, being a handy base for both Sussex and Kent as well as only a couple of minutes from the coast. We were very comfortable during our stay and wish to thank the owners for making our holiday such a success.

Lovely little cottage

This holiday home was perfect for us and we'd definitely stay again. Bags of character and not expensive. Very clean and comfortable, and the owners very kindly left us everything for a much needed cup of tea and welcome card on arrival. The cottage was also very well equipped and in a central position to visit many places with our two teenage sons.

High Spec Beautiful Clean Cottage

The Ark, in Little Common, was perfect for us as we wanted to visit Eastbourne, Bexhill-on-Sea and Hastings to do The Art Trail. It is only a short drive to the beach from where you can walk in all directions. We found the cottage to be much bigger than we expected, it had everything we needed and was really clean. There is a little patio where you can sit and have breakfast or a drink in the evening. I would recommend this as a great base. Even if you don't have a car the bus stop is nearby. We had a great four days helped by magnificent weather and were able to visit The Towner Art Gallery, The De La Warr Pavillion and the Jerwood Space. Vicky and David the owners were very quick to respond to us whenever we contacted them. Highly recommended!

We always wanted a typical English cottage with character and a little history. The Ark has all of this. It was original built in the early 1800s. Named "The Ark" because someone once said that it looked a bit like "an upturned boat"! Its original owner was a famous local smuggler and there are interesting records of his illegal exploits in the Smugglers museum at Hastings. The single story cottage is set in a secluded position but close to the centre of Little Common village We obviously both love this little corner of England as we have lived in this area all our life! This area has just about everything. Close to the seaside - just a couple of miles away, but also near to the Sussex countryside. There lots of historical,and interesting places to visit just on your doorstep.

Approximately 2 hours from Gatwick Airport by car. 1 hour 30 minutes by train. 2 hours and 30 minutes from the port of Dover


2 minutes walk to Little Common village with local public house etc.

Bexhill on Sea a seaside town 2 miles way. Historical Hastings 8 miles away.

Brighton shopping, cinemas and seaside, also famous Royal Pavilion 20 miles.

Ancient towns of Rye and Battle (Battle of Hastings 1066 Abbey)12 miles approx. Batemans - Rudyard Kipling's home - approximately 12 miles.

Numerous National Trust properties and gardens within easy driving distance.

Public golf course 1 mile.

Regular train service to London just 1hour 45 minutes away. Walking distance to local shops, restaurants, takeaways. Buses to nearby towns and seaside. The cottage is fully equipped, quiet, but not remote. A single story property with every thing on a level would suit the less able. There is a pretty secluded south facing courtyard garden to the rear of the property with a picnic table and chairs for relaxation, or alfresco dining, accessed via French windows. Although warm and cosy with gas central heating the cottage also has a wood burning stove and a supply of logs. Power shower, and TVs in both bedrooms as well as the sitting room. Renters have an opportunity to stay in a truly unique property.
