Cottage in a Small Peaceful Village, Boasting 3 Large Bedrooms and living space

Overview

Property

Updated: 14-Nov-2016
Cottage in Paul, Mousehole, Cornwall, England - Close Proximity to Mousehole Harbour

Pedn Brose cottage has just been fully refurbished to a high standard that we like to keep. This property is our home from home and is much loved by all our family. Our cottage is ideal for memorable family breaks by the coast. The cottage is in a small friendly village with beautiful surroundings. The village church has a monument and is the burial ground for the last native Cornish speaking lady from Cornwall.

About the Owner

We are a young family who bought this cottage in 2013. We have completely refurbished it to a high standard. Creating a home from home and a wonderful holiday home for our guests to enjoy. We have added lots of personal touches to create comfort in all rooms, including pictures, cushions and decorative items. The house is very well equipped, making it a very comfortable place to stay.

Exceeded expectations

What a great cottage, in a great location. We stayed in August with another couple and their two kids (10 and 14) and we were all very comfortable and happy. The directions were a bit more confusing than they needed to be (opposite the church - turn in at the pub - you're the next house down the hill- would suffice) but we got there! We wanted for nothing in the collage and made use of the BBQ. The hot water is controlled remotely by internet so a blip in the connection left us without but we phoned the owners and it was sorted immediately. We finally found the recycling bags that had been tidied away in the back shed (every county does this differently so this could have been clearer). But these are minor things, I would and have recommended this cottage. It was nice to be just outside Mousehall and to walk into town (you really don't want to drive if you can help it). There are many places to eat and visit, don't overlook the cafe at Lamorna, it's better than you'd think!

Fabulous quiet Cottage beautifully appointed

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful quiet Cottage has been a perfect place to escape for a week with the dogs. It is very modern and homely on the inside with all the amenities you could wish for within a stones throw. The cottage itself is old worldly from the outside but with all the modern comforts you could ask for inside. It's been easy to just stroll down in to Mousehole or drive no more than 30 minutes to some of the best beaches, walks and scenery in the country. Top marks to the owners.

Fantastic holiday base

  • 5 of 5

A great home-from-home to explore the fantastic Cornish coastline. We spent two weeks there and loved every minute...the cottage is immaculately presented, spacious and comes with fast Wi-Fi (essential if you're checking work emails like we were).

Very well stocked with everything you need and little touches - like a cream tea on arrival - makes you realise that this is very much a family-run property.

There's the Kings Arms pub a few mins walk away in Paul and just down the hill are the delights of Mousehole.

Would recommend for families or couples looking for a place to stay in Cornwall.

Location

From the Owner

After many years of holidaying in the south of Cornwall, we fell in love with the area. It wasn't a hard decision to buy a property here in Paul. The cottage is in a small, quaint village with a friendly local atmosphere. The cottage is only minutes from Mousehole harbour, which is the ideal location for us. We have spent many days at the harbour with our family on the beach, and enjoying the atmosphere with the locals and holiday makers.

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

Mousehole harbour and beach is within 10 minutes walking distance. The beach is a small area along from the harbour which is a great place to take the children for a paddle in the sea. There are many nice beaches not far from Paul. Recommended are Sennon, St Ives and Hayle beach.

Travel:

Nearest airport is Newquay, 1 hour by car. Nearest train station is Penzance, 15 mins by car.

Distances:

The cottage is a 10 minute drive to Penzance and the shops. 15 minutes to St Michaels Mount, 25 minutes to Lands End and a 30 minute drive to St Ives. There are many scenic coastal walks around Mousehole, Paul and Lamorna.
