Beautiful house in a stunning location

  • 5 of 5

This house is ideal for holidaying with extended family. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything needed for the whole group plus more! The feather duvets and pillows were a luxurious touch which we all appreciated. Enough towels and extra pillows if needed. The extra blankets were lovely and cosy which were ideal to snuggle up in front of the beautiful log fire in the evenings. For the children (and adults) there's a great swing in the garden which you can swing so high in it gives you butterflies! Jasper was an ideal host. always available when needed but never obtrusive. Nothing was too much trouble for him. He even offered to lend us his canoes and drop us down the river with them. His brother Ben kindly lent us some bikes which was amazing and over and above what we expected from them. The location was fantastic for walking and hiking. The beach was only an hour away. A must do is hiking to the top of Rodneys Pillar about 15 mins drive away. The views from the top were breathtaking. The River at the bottom of the garden is really pretty and great for jumping in from the bridge if you dare (3 of my group did!). Overall a fantastic holiday in an ideal location with perfect owners.

Lovely short break

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Penylan at Easter & had a wonderful time. The beds were comfy, lovely linens, the kitchen well equipped (we cooked for a family party so I can vouch for this!). Property clean & well maintained with a beautiful open log fire so very cosy. Owners very friendly & helpful. Farmhouse felt homely, spacious & views to die for. Great pubs nearby & walks on your doorstep.

I would wholeheartedly recommend this property for a genuine welsh break.

Activity and Interests

Car: recommended

Special interest holidays:

We have a great music recording studio in the farmyard buildings which can be hired with or without the house.

We also run courses here: Music workshops; Writers retreats; Yoga weekends and more - ring and ask what's coming up.

The Welsh coast is just under an hour away, and Snowdonia mountains not far either but there is a lot of lovely walks just out the door so no real need to drive far if you don't want to.

Birmingham, Liverpool and Manchester airports are only 1.5 hours away and the local town Welshpool 15 minutes away has a train and bus station.

Meifod is half a mile, Welshpool about 7 Shrewsbury 25 so very easy access.
