Apartment in Port Isaac, Cornwall, England - 5 Minute Walk To Port Isaac Village And Port Gaverne Cove

Ocean View is an apartment on the ground floor of a converted Edwardian house at the top of Port Isaac village. It is a lovely light and airy apartment with a large bay window fitted with French doors opening onto the front garden. From here you can sit and enjoy the wonderful views over Port Isaac bay. There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with two single beds. There is also a small south facing patio area leading off the kitchen. We welcome up to 2 dogs. Between 1st May and 30th September our changeover day is Saturday.

Fantastic views from a beautiful cottage

Stayed here for a long weekend and thought it was lovely! Great location with parking nearby, the local shop and only a short walk to the sea and village centre.

I had my dog with me and this property was really accommodating, especially with a secure small garden at the front.

The property was in good condition and very clean.

Couldn't fault it!!

I'll definitely return :)

Somewhere Special

The photos do not do this property and location justice. We were expecting something good but we were not prepared for just ‘how’ good. The freshly made scones and tea on arrival, from the owner was the warmest and best we have experienced along with the thought and care taken into the entire apartment. The apartment was much bigger than we expected, especially the kitchen and bedrooms. The apartment is bright and comfortable and the views from the front lounge of the ocean just remind you everyday how you really are somewhere special!

The position of Ocean View apartment was truly wonderful. There are panoramic views of the sea and hamlets beyond to keep your eyes glued to for hours, right from the lounge and the front garden! We were lucky enough to have about 7 sunny days during our 2 week stay, therefore we got to enjoy the glorious sunsets some nights as the sun dropped behind the horizon, above the opposite restaurant. If the views were not enough we even saw seals during our stay from the front garden!

With the lovely little shops and cafes across the road plus the art gallery next door the holiday had a communal buzz and atmosphere about it. Although near Port Isaac main car park, there is still plenty of distance between it and the apartment, and you don’t really notice it at all!

We have stayed in 4 different places in Port Isaac over the years and we rate this as the best!

We shall certainly return!

Fabulous stay

A lovely flat, bright, sunny and clean. Fantastic view. Useful use of garden for dogs and watching world go by. Owner very friendly and approachable , left us a smashing cream tea. Fully equipped and handy to have wifi. Will come again.

Loved the apartment!

The view from the apartment was fabulous and we enjoyed the front garden even in October. The apartment had everything we needed and really nicely kitted out. And the location was ideal so we could easily walk to the harbour or down to Port Gaverne. We loved the apartment and our stay.

We have just returned from a lovely week at ocean view in port isaac. The apartment is in a lovely position. The french windows open up to a view overlooking the sea - perfect for relaxing breakfasts and evening meals. The apartment is well equipped and just a few minutes walk along a coast path to charming port isaac . The owners live upstairs and are very helpful. Hoping to return next year

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

Port Isaac an old historic fishing harbour is a 6 minutes walk via the sw coastal path.

port gaverne, a small pretty cove with rock pools at low tide is a 5 minutes walk away.

Polzeath and trebar with strand both large sandy surfing beaches are a 10 minute drive.

Daymer bay a large sandy sheltered beach, ideal for small children is a 10 minute drive.

Travel:

Newquay airport is a 30 minute drive from Port Isaac.

Exeter airport is approximately a 1 hour and 15 minutes drive away.

The nearest train station is Bodmin Parkway a 30 minute journey by car. There are also bus links from the station to Port Isaac via Bodmin and Wadebridge.

Distances:

The coastal villages of Tintagel and Boscastle are a 15/20 minute drive.

The Eden project and Fowey (both on the south coast) are a 40 minute drive.

Llanhydrock a National Trust property takes about 25 minutes by car.

Bodmin moor is also only a 15 minute drive away.

Further Details:

There is a co-op store (open 7 days a week 7am to 10pm) with an in store bakery and a cash machine just 5 minute walk from the apartment. There is a deli selling fresh seafood just a 2 minute walk away. In the old village there is a bakery and also "fish cellars" selling fresh fish.

Further afield there is a Tesco's in Wadebridge which is a 20 minute drive or in Bodmin there is a Morrison's, Asda and Sainsbury's which are all about a 30 minute drive away.

Please note the nearest Bank and Post office is in Wadebridge.

Booking Notes:
Please email to confirm that the apartment is available on your chosen dates and we will reply as quickly as possible. A 25 % deposit is payable to secure the booking which is payable either by cheque or Bank transfer and the balance is due 8 weeks before the start of the holiday. Between 1st April and 30th April we may be able to offer short breaks .Please email to enquire. Between 1st May and 30th September all bookings are for a minimum of 7 nights and are a Saturday changeover

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is a Saturday. The apartment is available from 4pm on the first day of your holiday and we ask guests to vacate by 10.30 on departure day.

Notes on prices:
From 4th October until 1st November 2014, 3 night weekend bookings Friday to Monday) and 4 night weekday bookings (Monday to Thursday) are available for 60% of the weekly rate.

A deposit of 25% is due to secure the booking and the balance is due 8 weeks before the start of the holiday. The deposit can be paid by cheque or by Internet Bank transfer. The balance can also be paid by either of these ways.

  • Notes on accommodation: No parking space with the apartment but public road just outside and pay and display car park opposite. Outside: There is a small front garden for the use of guests in the apartment. From here you can sit and enjoy the wonderful sea views and watch the boats in the bay or you can just open up the French windows leading off the living room and enjoy the ocean from inside! There is a picnic bench as well as 2 fold up wooden chairs,a small wooden coffee table and 2 canvas fold up chairs. Leading off the kitchen is a small patio area which is south facing and a sunny spot for morning coffee. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All bed linen and towels are supplied (not beach towels) as well as tea towels and hand towels and for bookings of more than 7 days all linen and towels will be changed at the end of the first week.
