About the Owner

My name is Koreen and I am lucky enough to have been born in West Cornwall of Cornish Parentage. Having travelled widely as a child and as an adult I have never wanted to settle anywhere other than my native Cornwall. I am a Cornish Language Bard and teach Cornish Language in my spare time. My partner is not a Celt, but having spent a good deal of his adult life in Anglesea and Scotland has chosen Cornwall as his home. Robert has a passion for the sea, loves attracting birds into the garden where he spends hours every day tending his plants. George (our little terrier) also enjoys the sea and spending time in the garden. We love Cornwall and take great delight in sharing all that Cornwall has to offer with the many visitors that Cornwall attracts.

The cottage has been refurbished to a very high standard.

It is very spacious, well equipped and has a pretty garden.

On arrival we received a warm friendly welcome from owners Koreen and Robert.

The fresh cut flowers,complimentary Cornish Cream Tea,and not forgetting free Wifi !

were added bonuses.

Would definitely rebook if visiting this area again.

Very reasonable rates as well.

Fantastic

We were welcomed by Koreen on arrival, such a lovely lady. The fresh scones, jam and cream was greatly appreciated after such a long journey, she had even bought some milk so we could have a brew. The cottage was lovely had everything needed for our stay. So clean and homely. The beds were comfortable. The wet room downstairs was a welcomed bonus with 3 children. The location was ideal, quiet and not having to worry about parking yet just a stones throw away from Penzance. We had a lovely break. Many thanks.

Excellent family holiday cottage

We spent Spring Bank Holiday week in this superb cottage that is within walking distance of Penzance and located in a village on local bus routes. The local amenities are good and only a short walk from the cottage, larger stores are a short drive away.

The cottage is lovely, spacious ,light and immaculately clean. The bedrooms are spacious and ideally furnished for holiday clothing. There is a wet room ideal for use following a day on the beach. The living area downstairs is large providing choices for dining, either as a family around the table, breakfast in the kitchen or al fresco in the garden. The cottage is extremely well equipped with all you may need for a family, including some games for playing whilst awaiting dinner. On arrival the owners were welcoming and helpful providing extra local tips in addition to the folder full of pamphlets and ideas to enhance the holiday. An excellent family holiday cottage well worth visiting one I would recommend to all.

Perfect Holiday Cottage

We have just had two weeks in this cottage and it is faultless. It is a superbly located cottage, easy walking distance from Penzance, but handily near bus routes from the village of Heamoor. There is a local pub, fish and chip shop and small village shop all within less than 5 mins stroll from the cottage. There are also big supermarkets in Penzance that are only 5 mins in the car going the back roads out of the village that made shopping a doddle.

Inside, it is beautifully presented, light, spacious and airy. The house was immaculately clean and fresh linen halfway through the holiday was a lovely touch. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. The kitchen has everything you'd need including Tupperware for last minute picnics!!

We had many a perfect evening spent in the private suntrap of a garden-as it was south facing and perfect for winding down after a busy day sightseeing.

The owners were really helpful on our arrival day making us feel welcome and at ease. They provided loads of tips of where best to go and see, and in the cottage is a folder full of ideas and pamphlets.

Overall this was a perfect holiday cottage and as our first holiday as a family we will certainly be looking to make this a tradition!!!I just can't praise it enough!!

As you discovered there is so much to see and do that two weeks is not nearly enough time to fit everything in. We are delighted that your stay has made you feel that you must come back to Cornwall again. I am biased as I was born here in the far West of Cornwall and so I feel that there is no place better anywhere in the world. I take great pleasure in pointing people to places that I feel are a must see, but even greater pleasure when I hear that my favourite places have become their favourite places too. I know that you particularly enjoyed the scenic short train ride from Penzance to St Ives. Mousehole and the lovely little cafe you found near the rock pool. The seal sanctuary at Gweek. Gwithian Beach and Godrevy lighthouse in Hayle. Porthcurno and The Minack theatre. Your trip to The Lizard and the little cafe there. The walk from Sennen to Lands End. I know that you did loads more than that, including cycling from Wadebridge to Padstow and enjoying Rick Steins fish and chips. Visiting some of our fantastic gardens including Morrab Gardens in Penzance as well as National Trust properties. I hope that your next visit is as memorable for you as this one was. Location

My family are from Pendeen and whilst I love the wild and rugged North Coast of West Penwith I wanted to be within walking distance of Penzance with its less volatile weather and the chance for level walking that the town has to offer. I chose Heamoor as it is on the outskirts of the town, which is quieter but still within a 15 minute stroll of the sea front. The town is full of places to eat, places to visit and things to do, but when you go home you have peace and quiet. If you want to go to any of the sandy beaches or visit the wonderful sub-tropical gardens as Penzance is on the A30 every where is easily accessible.

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

West Penwith offers many attractive beaches which include among others, St Ives (10.5 miles), Carbis Bay (9 miles), Sennen (9 miles), Marazion (6 miles), Porthcurno (9 miles) and Gwithian (12 miles). Penzance Promenade is 1.5 miles distant and can easily be walked within 15 minutes.

Travel:

As the property is located 1.5 miles from Penzance railway and bus stations it is possible to make use of public transport during the duration of the holiday. However, in order to visit all of the many attractions that Cornwall has to offer it may be desirable to come by car or hire a car for part of your holiday.

Penzance 1 mile, Mousehole 4.5 miles, Marazion 6 miles, Carbis Bay 9 miles, St Ives 10.5 miles, Sennen 9 miles, Portcurno 9 miles and Giwthian 12 miles.

Further Details:

The market town of Penzance has an eclectic mix of elegant historic buildings, art studios, well stocked individual shops and award winning restaurants. As well as branches of national banks and supermarkets.

Providing that the property does not suffer any damage or loss this deposit will be fully refunded within 1 week of the end of the holiday.

The cottage itself is light and airy. The rooms are of generous proportions. There is a lovely little garden. Within a few hundred yards there is a 'corner shop', a local bakers, a family friendly pub serving locally sourced beers and food, a fish and chip shop, a post office and a chemist. As the railway station is only 1.5 miles away and the town 1 mile you can enjoy a car free holiday as well as a carefree holiday.

Please see the photograph of the stairs in the lounge. You will see that one side of the stairs is open to a window which has a deep recess you should be aware of this when considering this property. We do provide a travel cot for babies and very young children. As a consideration to all our guests the property is a non smoking establishment. Outside: There is a small pretty fully enclosed Mediterranean style garden with two benches and a table and chairs. There is a separate outside area for drying clothes. There is unrestricted on street parking in front of the cottage. Utility Room: The utility room is equipped with a washing machine and a tumble dryer. There is an iron and ironing board.
