Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 7 nights

About the property

Cottage in Lussac les Eglises, Nr. Bellac, Haute Vienne, Limousin, France - Close To All Amenities, Yet With Plenty Of Peace And Quiet

The cottage is believed to be at least 150 years old. There are the remains of 2 bread ovens and it may be that the building was once a bakery for the hamlet. The house has a large lounge / dining area with a lovely wood burner. Outside the back door is a private patio. The cottage has priority access to a large heated in ground swimming pool with pool alarm. The pool is heated throughout the late spring and into the autumn. Also there is a 1 acre private nature reserve close to the property and plenty of places to walk and enjoy the peace and quiet.

In the spring and early summer there are many summer visiting birds to supplement our native ones nesting nearby....Hoopoes, Golden Orioles, Nightingales, Kites and Shrikes to name just a few....In the spring and autumn we witness thousand of "Grue" Grey Cranes migrating....they are a splendid sight and sound.

In the summer months the reserve, the young cider orchard and the large meadow are alive with butterflies.

About Mark and Michele Spearing

We, Mark and Michele Spearing, moved to France from Somerset with our 2 children in 2004, Mark is an electrician who's been registered here since 2005, Michele has worked both here and the UK as a Registered General Nurse, she's still involved with healthcare.

If you've the inclination to take your holiday in France further and buy a place here we can offer unbiased advice on everything from buying and renovating a home to schooling, universities, working and learning to drive. Michele can even introduce you to someone who can teach you to fly (rather her than me thinks Mark).

Mark and Michele Spearing purchased this cottage in 2005

Why Mark and Michele Spearing chose Bellac area

We bought the property to retire here in France there's space here, plenty of space, though the traffic can be horrendous as only last week I had to wait for a flock of sheep to pass, before I could pull out onto the road!

What makes this cottage unique

We can help and advise on all aspects of moving to France, from buying to selling and working and schooling.
