Casa Laranja is a bright, stylish apartment in the heart of the old town of Albufeira. Casa Laranja is a 2 bedroom apartment sleeping 2/4 and has a small balcony facing south west to catch the evening sun. The apartment is on the first floor with lifts for easy access in the Bay View apartment building situated minutes away from the beach and sea, restaurants, bars, shops and local attractions. Entry to the property is via a fully tiled and fitted reception area with seating, toilets and access to pool area. Outside the communal swimming pool, children's splash pool and garden areas have decking and sunbeds. There is a large communal terrace at the top of the building with views across Albufeira and the sea. There are taxis, a bus stop and coach tours stop just the other side of the church and underground parking is available upon request.

Casa Laranja is a 2 bedroom apartment with a balcony, sleeping 2/4. (Rental Licence 8469/AL) Originally it had 1 bedroom but now also provides a separate bedroom at the back of the living area. This new bedroom provides total black out (with no windows) from the bright sunshine and has 2 single beds, a wardrobe and a bedside table. The main bedroom has a double bed, 2 bedside tables and a wardrobe. The balcony runs the length of the main bedroom and can be accessed from a small alcove between the bedroom and living area. The living area has a sofa, a dining table and 4 chairs. The air conditioning unit provides cool in the summer and heat in the winter. The fitted kitchen has an oven and hob with extractor fan, fridge with freezer area and microwave. A kettle, toaster, iron and ironing board, cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils are provided. The bathroom has a bath with a shower over it. There is a hairdryer and a safe.

About the Owner

My sister and I love the Algarve. Our Mum has lived here for nearly 30 years and we have visited many, many times. My Mum has a number of stray animals (9 dogs and 9 cats) so we decided it would be easier to buy apartments of our own nearby. We like our holidays near a beach, interesting things to see, lovely walks to see the local landscape, good markets and local shopping. We like to have places where we can eat local food and drink within a few minutes walking distance so that there is no need to drive - then there is no need to draw the short straw and miss out on the local wines.

Perfect location, stress free

We had never been to Portugal so weren't sure what to expect, organised airport pickup through Julie which was so easy and hassle free. Perfect location to walk to a couple of beaches (so helpful to have the beach towels and parasol available for this- thanks Julie). Also walking distance from marina and right in Old town. Very quiet at night, beds comfortable for 4 adults, apartment spotless and good shower. Literally the only thing that could be any better is more pillows! We were able to leave bags in reception and use the pool/sunbathing area for a while before flight. Brilliant apartment, thanks.

Very well equipped apartment in wonderful location

Just enjoyed a lovely week in this apartment, which was very well equipped, clean, everything you need for an great holiday.

Transfers were arranged by the owner, which worked perfectly and we were greeted by Sara on arrival at the apartment, who showed us around. The complex reception staff were all very friendly and informative. We made good use of the swimming pool on site, which never got busy.

Fantastic location, 5 minute walk to the beach and numerous restaurants, would highly recommend Shalom II for a lovely meal.

Zoomarine make a good day out.

Great base for Albufiera

the appartments provided a great base for us as a 5 min walk to the beach and town, very well equipped kitchen and spacious rooms. Good size bathroom and really appreciated the selection of towels provided. Tthe property was immaculate and modern. The day of arrival was very smooth as taxis organised by the owner and we were greeted with a friendly welcome at the apartment. Albufiera was great for the whole family, the kids loved the water sports and facilities on the beach. we loved the fantastic range of restaurants! We completed 4 trips including 2 water parks , caves and dolphin searching which were all great fun and easy to arrange. I would most definitely recommend this apartment and Albufiera old town. My only criticism would be that the balcony was too small, however plenty of outdoor seating area on the terrace.

Perfect location!

Having stayed in one of Julie's one bedroom apartments in September 2014 (Casa Azul) with my husband, we returned this July with our 16 year old son to Casa Laranja. The location of the Apartment is perfect for the beach, which offers various watersports (a great hit with my son!) and the bars and restaurants, both just a few minutes walk down the winding cobbled streets. Our stay was for 10 days and again we didn't hire a car as there really is no need, unless perhaps you wanted to explore further along the coast or mountains, which we have done in the past. The apartment is clean, bright and well equipped although (you know I am going to mention this Julie!) it would be fantastic if there was a washing machine! We like the location as it is quiet, but everything is within easy reach. There is a handy shop just down the hill for bread and other provisions. Also two restaurants at the bottom of the hill both with terraces overlooking the beach. 'The Beach Basket' is our favourite! We were met at the airport by taxi arranged by the owner and greeted at the property by Terry who showed us everything we needed to know about the apartment. Home from home! We will definitely be returning next year - if not before! Thank you once again Julie.

Location, location, location

This apartment turned out to be very well located for all our needs. Just a few minutes from both the beach and the square. It is at the top of a hill but nothing too daunting. The pool area was quiet and restful and we had Merlins bar just across the road. There were loads of towels and essentials when we arrived. The balcony is small and there is not a great view but otherwise the apartment has everything you would need for a relaxing holiday. Would like to go back in the morning!!

Fantastic Apartment

Spent 7 nights here in September 2014. Great apartment with everything you could possibly need. Lovely quiet pool area and close enough to some lovely restaurants and bars . No noise on an evening ensures a good nights sleep.

This is the second time we have stayed at Bay View and will definitely return.

Location

From the Owner

We love the area because it is just away from the hustle and bustle of the busy tourist area of Albufeira but close enough to walk to all the activity if you want. It is right in the old town so we can walk to the beach (got masses of lovely shells in Jan), to the marina, masses of restaurants and cafes and shops in a couple of minutes and the local beaches are so wide and stretch far into the distance. It is easy to get to, centrally located on the Algarve and has something going on most of the time in an every day normal Portuguese town. There is a lot to see at most times of the year from almond blossom in the spring to seeing the oranges picked during the picking seasons and there are always Festas and the carnivals in Feb\March.

Activity and Interests

Car: not necessary

Coast/Beach:

There are 250km of beaches on the Algarve so you can choose a different beach each day. The closest beach is 3 minutes walk away and the old town square is about 6/7 minutes. If you turn left out of the building and head to the little museum at the end of the road, turn right and you can walk along paths on the cliffs above the beach all the way to Albufeira Marina in 15 minutes

Travel:

Faro is the international airport for visitors to the Algarve. Travelling by road should take about 50 minutes depending on traffic and the route you take. It is about 48km from the airport to the apartments. A car is not necessary but if you decide to hire a car all the international car hire companies are at the airport. Buses and trains go to Albufeira from Faro near Faro marina.

Distances:

You are in the old town of Albufeira with churches, museums and markets. Furthest east is Vila Real (last town before Spain) it is about an hour (95km), to Sagres the furthest town west is about 1 hour 10 mins (83km) and into the Serra de Monchique about 45 mins (55km). Visit Zoo marine (8km from apartment), Aqualand, a splash and ride waterpark (11km), Parque Aventura, moving along trees in a series of games (4km) and the international sand sculptures exhibition at Pera (10km).

Further Details:

There is a taxi rank and bus stop one street away, where local buses, open top tour buses and coaches for tours stop. There are fairs and festivals throughout the year. Highlights are the jazz festival held in the summer in towns across the Algarve, food festivals such as the chicken festival at Guia and the Sardine festival at Olhos d'Agua. There are many 'Festa's' with processions honouring patron saints followed by entertainment and fireworks in the evenings and of course the annual carnivals in February or March depending on the timing of Easter. Water sports are available for those that are feeling active. In July and August, many sports events are held on the beaches. You can hire bikes, go horse riding, scuba diving and play tennis. But for those that want to relax, stroll to Fishermans beach to spend a lazy day enjoying the sun. And if you love walking, there are miles of walks along the cliffs and beaches. You can walk from the old town to Sao Joao via the beach and a cliff top walk with some stunning views of both Albufeira and further down the coast towards Vilamoura and Faro. There are many old churches and museums to visit – try Misericodia chapel, Igreja Matriz and don't forget to have a look around Sant' Ana church – right on your doorstep. A Gipsy / Flea Market is on 'Rua da Escolas' (near the municipal canteen) on the third Saturday of every month and a Market twice a month in Caliços on the first and third Tuesday of every month. There are masses of restaurants in Albufeira including traditional Portuguese food such cataplana and locally caught fish, Italian, Chinese, Indian and fast food outlets like McDonalds – practically anything you want. There are plenty of local bars and cafes. If you want to eat in, there are small local shops close by and a Lidls is a short walk away. If you have a car, there are many shops at the 'Algarve shopping' complex (15 minutes drive) and numerous larger shops such as Intermarche and Continente in Albufeira.
