Casa de Tranquilidad in Caleta de Fuste, Fuerteventura, Canary Islands - Peaceful Location 30 Minutes Walk From Caleta De Fuste.

Relax in a lovely split level house, with gardens and pool with breathtaking views over the Atlantic Ocean, Caleta de Fuste (El Castillo) and it's harbour. A great location for exploring the whole island, no where is more than 1 hour away by car. The living area to the front is separated from the bedrooms and main bathroom at the rear by . At the front of the property is a large Pagoda stretching the whole width of the property, giving shade from early afternoon for those who want shade and for those wanting to catch the rays the garden offers sun. The areas at the front and back are walled and enclosed.

We are a married couple in our fifties who decided we wanted to get out of the "Rat Race" and come and live on this beautiful island.

Why Karen Rogers chose Antigua

We originally bought this house as a holiday home with the view to retiring to it, however within a year we decided to emigrate and have spent 7 lovely years in this house and made many improvements to it.

We have had the opportunity of buying another property which suits our lifestyle better as we have 2 dogs and they will have much more land to enjoy.

We only live about 5 minutes away and you will be dealing with us directly rather than through an agent or third party.

We hope you will enjoy our house as much as we have.

What makes this house unique

The property is convenient for discovering the island and for those who do not want to venture that far there is plenty close to hand.

This villa had everything we needed, including a lovely small pool which was freshly cleaned for our arrival and the owners came and cleaned again for the second week. A comfy leather sofa outside in the shade or sun loungers if you prefer the sun and great views out over Caleta and the sea. The accommodation inside was very spacious, plenty of bedroom wardrobe storage and with a good entertainment system with lots of films available and wifi was a huge bonus. You can manage without a car for a short break if you are fit (taxis are cheap or there is a land train part way up the mountain) although I would recommend a car to explore the island. There are a couple of lovely restaurants within walking distance. (Nestor's and Pickled Palm).

The owner was excellent at communicating via email which made the whole booking process very smooth.

Peaceful with lovely sea views

Karen was waiting for us when we arrived. She was most welcoming and showed us around. Before our departure she had advised us that there was no need to bring shampoo, toiletries etc as the house was fully stocked with these. This was a great help to us travelling with only hand luggage. She had also done a small shop for us so that we didn't have to worry about this on our first night. Karen gave us lots of local knowledge as to where to eat etc.

The house itself was clean and tidy and had everything we needed. Karen even came very quickly one night when there was a small problem with the television. The property is situated in a very quiet residential area about 4k away from the main restaurants and night life. This was great for us as we enjoyed the walk down twice a day. There is an excellent taxi service but we did not need it. I would recommend this house to anyone wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of resort life but still be within easy reach of bars, restaurants etc.

We loved sitting on the patio eating our breakfast by the pool or sitting on the comfy sofa to the right of the pool reading a book.

Karen PS for future guests main restaurants and shops about 1 1/2km max walk, takes 30 to 40 mins depending how fast you walk and which end of town you walk to, taxi just under €4.

everything as advertised

we really enjoyed our time at this property. we found that it was very well equipped and clean throughout . we found Karen to be very helpful and friendly, we had a late flight into Fuerteventura so Karen got us some essentials to keep us going until we could go to the shops the following day. we would strongly recommend this property to any one looking for a nice and relaxing stay. the views at night are amazing . Big thank you to Karen from Rocky Lynn and Matthew.

Lovely will be booking again ....

Lovely villa pictures do not do it Justice the views are amazing Karen who owns the villa went out her way to make us feel so welcome ..She took us to the airport after are lovely stay .. there is everything you need for a self catering holiday .. Sky television washing machine iron .. Board hair dryer .. very clean .. towels bedding i could go on. It's a bit of a walk down the hill but half way down there's pubs restaurants walk 15 mins more your on the beach are more bars and restaurants get a taxi back around 4 euros

Not worth the money.

Booking process was simple,and straight forward.

We visit Fuerteventura a few times a year and have been doing it for a few years now.

It is equipped for a self catering holiday,even though the furniture and utinsels etc are showing their age.

TV had freeview channels on a very old TV.Internet Wi_Fi is present,not that reliable.

House had a strange layout.

Parking is on the road, you have to park right up against a wall,(that is if you are lucky enough to get a parking space.)so your front seat passenger has to be dropped off before you park.

Pool is not a pool ,it is four feet deep the size of four bath tubs,and had no cover,so gets filled with leaves etc

,never saw it being cleaned or the filter working.

At checkin you are left with plenty of towels,as they are not replaced during your stay,nor is the house cleaned .

Bedrooms have no windows.

No ceiling fan or A/C.

No shower cubicle,shower over a discoloured bath.

No toilet roll holders,toilet rolls are left on the cistern.

No smoke alarm or fire extinguisher.

You can not use the back yard,as it had a wooden shed, covering about 80% of area.Other storage units with tools and two large gas cylinders.

You cannot use the roof terrace as the stairs were blocked by two gas cylinders.

Noisy neighbours,who have dogs that bark all the time.

I don't know if this property is registered with the Tourist Authority as a holiday rental property,as we saw no paper work in the house to prove this

Not recommended,not worth the money they charge.

I have got photos and videos to support my observations.

Owner's Response: This review was posted a few days after I advised guest that their damage deposit would not be refunded due to the hundreds of pounds worth of damage to our property. Sadly this is the first time we have ever needed to retain any security deposit, photos of damage have been sent to Owners Direct. I will cover some of the points, any other questions please contact me. TV 42inch Samsung Flat Screen (not a Smart TV but has USB ports) WIFI Movistar 10mb Broadband and ADSL, the fasted available. WIFI in the house is reliable, sometimes like anywhere it does go down on the whole island. Parking, neighbours all respect each others space outside houses. (asked guests after who did not have a car and no one parked outside house all week) Pool is as advertised 4m x 4m x 1.1m deep, no trees in garden for leaves to go in, cactus . Filters do work and are on a timer, there are no problems with the pool. Cleaning of house is not advertised, this is self catering, many towels and extra sets of bedding left, however you chose not to use the extra sets of clean bedding. Bedrooms, you say there are no windows ceiling fans or aircon (which is not advertised) what you do not say, as can be seen on pictures is there are full length patio glass doors with shutters allowing doors to be open and shutters closed giving a breeze through the whole house. There are also fans in utility room which can be used anywhere in house not ceiling fans which are far more restrictive. Photos and advert say shower over bath, do not say separate shower. I will stop there as this will get too long, however during your stay you never contacted me to say you wanted extra cleaning, more fans or had problems with the house al all. I live only 5 minutes away. All other guests have loved the house, many are repeat guests and referals from each other. Their reviews on our property say it all.

Stayed for 4 weeks wonderful views and fresh air all amenities we needed in the house broadband and English TV channels + plenty of films to watch. Facilities good washing machine (drying area) large fridge freezer oven hob etc. Comfy bed also Karen supplied beach towels and toiletries! Had a relaxing time would definitely go back.

Lovely house very homely

Lovely house. Friendly and helpful owner great facilities. I'd recommend a hire car due to the hill but the views were great. Highly recommend and would definitely stay there again

Coast/Beach:

The beaches and the village of Caleta de Fuste are 1.5km away, a 30 minute walk approximately.

Travel:

The airport is about 6km away and takes about 10 minutes in a car, taxi is about 15 euros.

Distances:

Car hire is recommended for this property and to explore the fantastic beaches and villages this island has to offer.

Taxis down to the beach and the village cost about 3 to 4 euros, and there is also a reliable bus service that goes to much of the island, but find the secluded beaches a car is needed.

Centrally located to explore the island, the location is ideal.

Further Details:

Caleta has alot to offer all ages, from golf, scuba diving, quad safaris, jet skis, go karting ( Puerto del Rosario), Deep Sea fishing, crazy golf to a day at the Spa relaxing.

There are many good restaurants and are child friendly, with everything from Local Fish and Tapas, to Chinese, Indian, Italian, Portuguese and Caribean. Atlantico shopping centre has restaurants , cinema, ten pin bowling etc. there is local market twice a week.
