Situated right in the heart of the charming Normandy port of Honfleur, within a private, gated complex of traditional style fisherman's cottages. A self contained 'Duplex' cottage with a stairwell leading you from a large lounge area on the ground floor to the two bedrooms on the first floor, both overlooking the South West facing garden.

The property also has the advantage of a large, secure, parking space, underneath the site accessed via a remote control steel gate, 2 x pedestrian stairwells with self locking doors lead up to the cottages at ground level.

There is a supermarket, boulangerie, butcher, delicatessen and pharmacy etc. within a couple of minutes walk of the cottage. A superb new visitor centre is attached to the library where you may research further information and guide brochures on current local events and places of interest to visit.

About the Owner

Our names are Gina and Graham and we live in Kingswood Surrey UK. We fell in love with Honfleur when touring France with friends and have returned over the years in classic sports cars and Harley Davidson's.

Les cottages du port was a concept model in the agents window and we made a snap decision to build from plan with the developer flying in to Biggin Hill two weeks later to pick up a deposit. Graham loves his cars & bikes so top of the list was the largest slot in the secure underground parking, the result is close friends with exotic cars love to drive to Honfleur and visit the 100 plus local restaurants knowing their pride and joy is locked safely away. Eating around the harbour at sunset you can understand why the French impressionists used to meet here!

Great Location just short walk into Honfleur

  • 4 of 5

The property is on two floors and due to our ages we found the stairs a bit on the steep side but that would not deter us from staying again. Great location an easy walk into Honfleur. A bonus is the underground secure parking, always plenty of hot water, adequate kitchen utensils, very clean property and in very good condition. A lot of restaurants very nearby our favourite for up market food was La Breard which was not cheap but very good value for the quality. I would recommend this property to family and friends.

A lovely cottage five minutes walk from the harbour

  • 4 of 5

Great location - a short walk to the town centre, restuarants, cafes etc. It was useful having a supermarket just down the road.

A little surprised to find the cottage on a gated housing complex. Was expecting a few properties but not 50. Would have liked a few more bits in the kitchen to make eating in easier.

Owner's Response: The cottage is situated in batiment E&F a secluded group of only eight individually styled private cottages, the plan can be clearly seen at the rear of the plot when you click on the satellite option of google maps shown on our web page.

  • 5 of 5

Stayed a week again having stayed last year for the first time... It is a very comfortable cottage, a home from home .... parking underneath is excellent, beds super comfortable, piping hot shower and everything you need to cook. A family of wrens live in the garden and are delightful to watch. no satellite so if wifi is an essential you must bring it with you

Great Location

  • 5 of 5

The property is everything your would wish for a holiday stay in Honfleur. Clean and well presented, with excellent instructions both from the printed Guide Book sent upon booking (very nice touch Graham) to notes in the property. The secured parking space particularly earns it five stars. All the local people very friendly and tolerant of my attempts to speak French.

We came from Ouistreham, and took the coast road (avoids autoroutes and les Péages) that takes you across Pegasus Bridge (definitely worth stopping at the museum). Coming this way take the D579A into Honfleur and head for Place Albert Sorel (our Sat Nav found that), you pass a big Pharmacie on your left, then take the first road on the left just past the Pharmacie (Voie Communale le Bouloir) to find the entrance to the property's underground parking halfway up on the right. Don't bother to park up in Carrefour for initial supplies as we did - park as Graham's directions and it's a minute's walk from the property!

Excellent property, well equiped and centrally located, but quiet.

Our week in Honfleur was superb, we enjoyed eating out in a number of local restaurant (all within easy walking distance). There is plenty to do in Honfleur, you find hidden gems as you explore the wonderful cobbled streets. It is a good center for exploring the north Normandy Coast including the D Day beaches, Bayeux Tapestry and so on.

Location

From the Owner

Living in the SE of England with good connections on the Eurotunnel the charming port of Honfleur can be reached within 2.5 hrs drive from the French terminal. With over 100 restaurants around the port we can decide to leave the UK at short notice in the afternoon and be sitting in a restaurant around the port watching the sunset at 8pm. There is always a busy market on Saturday mornings where you can really enjoy the ambiance of the French lifestyle. During the winter months a Russian Market surrounds the port just before Christmas, Classical Music playing in the 'greniers a sel' with the port looking beautiful decked out with Christmas decorations. New Year's eve is a big celebration here, welcoming log fires in the bars and restaurants make Honfleur an all year destination.
