About Elizabeth and John Bloxham

Liz and John finally moved from Cambridge to Granton House in Goodrich in 2005 having spent many years restoring the property. They ran a successful award winning B&B from then until May 2014 when they decided to close the door to that side of the business and concentrate on self-catering accommodation allowing more time to spend with grandchildren.

They are anxious that all guests enjoy discovering this beautiful part of the Wye Valley and are happy to suggest places of interest to visit etc. There are many books and leaflets for guests to read.

Elizabeth and John Bloxham purchased this cottage in 2009

Why Elizabeth and John Bloxham chose Goodrich

The Wye Valley is a superb area and many parts are totally unspoilt. Herefordshire is well connected to motorways and airports yet remains one of the country's least populated counties. The scenery is amazing at any time of year.

People have time for one another here...a rare thing in the age that we live in!

What makes this cottage unique

In a quiet location yet all places of interest are close by. There are Many varied walks from the door and others further along the Wye Valley. The Coach House is probably C18th decorated in a contemporary style yet retaining many original features such as the floor and beautiful beams. The verandah is a special place to sit and listen to birdsong. Sorry but no pets and no children.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Superb cottage in village close to Ross on Wye in Wye Valley Herefordshire.
average rating of 5.0 based on 18 reviews

A very warm and welcoming property with a home away from home feel. Very clean and a great location.

Generally we could not fault the accommodation, however the advertised wifi could only be accessed when in the owners front yard and there was a lack of any tea or coffee and milk to greet our arrival. If you come prepared for these minor issues you will not regret your stay.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to review our Coach House. The problem that we are experiencing with the Wifi is unfortunately common to so many rural places. We are ever hopeful that it will improve as the lane has been dug up and fibre optic cable installed..just need it to be switched on. Some guests have no problem getting on line whilst others struggle. Really pleased that you enjoyed your stay though and hope to see you again one day.

The coach house is small but very comfortable with good quality fixtures and fittings. The owners are friendly and helpful but not intrusive. The property is in a great peaceful location with easy access to near and far. There is plenty to do and the area is very picturesque. Plenty of good pubs nearby for eating out.

Beautiful cottage in a great location

  • 5 of 5

This cottage is superbly appointed with everything you could need, apart from WiFi which we could not connect to. It is cosy and warm - a lovely home to return to each day. It is well located in a beautiful part of the country with plenty to visit and do in the surrounding area. We would love to return.
