The villa is situated on top of a hill,( Cerro das Mos ) With a beautifull views over the Lagos bay and in to Monchique mountain,ad just outside of the busy area of Lagos,is in a new residential state,of only villas,but close enough to the main supermarkets about 5 minute walk. Riua Abel Figuieredo Luis 259 8600-359 Lagos.It has 3 bedrooms all en-suite large living room area and wi-fi all throught the house and garden with a private pool.

you can walk to 3 large supermarkets and shopps about 5 minuts walk away.

About Jose Goncalves

I'm Jose, 53 years old, married to Graca and have a son and a daughter, Arthur and Catia.

I am a property administrator and have been working in this business for more than 20 years, I like flamenco music and red wine, and I produce my own red wine in a small farm where I live now, near Praia da Luz.

As the children gone to work away we decided to rent our beautiful home in Lagos, as now is too large for just two of us.

Why Jose Goncalves chose Lagos

We build our home just out of the city centre ,1.5km about 10 minutes walk, and about 2km from the beach ,near to 3 large supermarkets 300 meters away, but in a area without apartments ,only villas.

The villa has wonderful views over Lagos bay, Lagos Marina and to Monchique mountain.

We know all the neighbours and they are all very nice people from different nationalities.Some of the villas are holiday homes but there are also all year round residents.

The villa is in a cul de sac,in a very quiet area,away from traffic noise.

The bus and train station are about 600/700 meters from the villa.

What makes this villa unique

Spending a holiday in this villa will always be a beautiful memory of a few days spent on the sun of Algarve in a privileged area with all the conditions of comfort that many villas do not have

The Trotman Family Holiday

We are a family of five 2 adults and 3 children. We arrived late however Jose was there to greet us when we arrived and also made arrangements with me beforehand to stock up the fridge with some basic food essentials for our first night and also arranged for a local takeaway to provide an evening snack because of the late flight.

This property is better than described. The Villa has fantastic views and the layout is exceptional including 3 good size bedrooms all with on suite facilities. There is a utility area with washing machine and a drying area. The pool is very private and gated which is ideal for younger kids.There is a lovely small garden next to the pool which leads to the barbecue area which also includes a small outside dining area.The Villa is exceptionally clean and well maintained including the pool area. It provides all that you would expect in your own home and more. There was enough space for all of my family to fully relax and the Wi Fi is of course a must for older kids and adults.The kitchen is spacious with two fridge/freezers and the lounge provides a panoramic view of the surrounding area. Satellite TV with some UK channels.

It is easy to walk down into Lagos town which is only a 20 minute leisurely walk away. However as the walk back is on a slope it may be easier to drive especially if you are travelling with very young kids or someone elderly. Lidl Supermarket is only 10 minutes walk away. Lagos is a great town to be located near as it offers a variety of Restaurants,bars,beeches and the Marina and old town. However if you prefer you could just spend time relaxing at the Villa in the pool or BBQ, garden area.

Our host Jose always made sure we were looked after and he was informative about other local places to visit or shop. He would also take time to speak to the whole family. Nothing was a problem for him and this added to our holiday experience. We have been to Portugal several times in the past and have stayed in many different types of property. None however have offered what this Villa does in terms of location, facilities and of course the friendly host Jose. I would certainly recommend this to other families. The Villa is a hidden gem and the photos do not give it justice. My whole family are keen to return as soon as we can.

A Great Place to Stay

My wife and I plus another couple rented Jose's house for most of November 2016.

Our first impressions of this huge property were only enhanced as Jose met us and showed us around. Everything was spotless and in good order. Jose explained that he had designed and built this house himself for his wife and family, but when the family had grown up and moved on, he decided to rent the property. Consequently it was fitted and equipped more like a home than a rental property. It's a very good size for 4 people to stay without falling over each other. There are superb views out to sea and to the mountains at Monchique. There is a patio/veranda all round the property and a secluded sheltered garden with pool.

Jose was very helpful in explaining about the area and places to go in very good English.

It is a 20 minute walk into town, with a supermarket within a 5 minute walk. A car is a definite advantage.

In summary, a very good place to stay and highly recommended for a group of people. Great owners too!

Great House and wonderful host

The house was huge, clean and in really good shape. The view from the balcony on the ocean is great, we enjoyed having our meals out there. Jose is a very welcoming host, who will answer all your questions and help you out wih everything. We had a great vacation and can only recommend this property and its host.

Great holiday villa

Me and my friends rented this property two years ago and we loved it so much, that we decided to come back again.

The property is very spacious, clean and well kept. It is well equipped with basically everything you might need during your stay. The view from the top of the villa is just amazing.

Communication with host was great before and during our stay, he is very friendly and provided excellent service.

I would definitely recommend this property to my friends and relatives.

The owner is very helpful and welcoming and was always available if needed.

The villa is in a nice quiet area of Lagos, it's huge so if you are in a family or group of friends you always have a quite place to go to be alone somewhere in the house. Probably not very practical if you have several very small children as there are lots of steps, inside and out. It's very clean, bright and comfortable and equipped with absolutely everything you will need during the holiday and the little garden is beautiful, the photos on this website do not do justice to the property (Jose, you should add better photos and add more details).

Fantastic house and hosts

A fantastic house in a quite, safe location just 20 minutes walk from the town centre and a number of supermarkets within a few minutes walk. The house has a lovely small pool and garden that is ideal for relaxing during the day. The bedrooms and living area are spacious and comfortable and it felt very homely. The owners, Jose and Graca, are lovely and could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. We've just booked our return trip for later this year!

Coast/Beach:

the distance to the beach is about 1.5 km so you can walk to the beach but is best to take the car as you have so many different beach to choose from.

We do recommend the beaches on the west coast as they are quiet and very clean and clear water,but are about 20 minutes drive

Travel:

the local airport is Faro 90 km away,we do recommend guests to rent a car

Distances:

Lagos centre is 1.5km from the villa , Praia da Luz 5 km,and Portimao 18 km

Further Details:

About 500 meters from the villa there are a few good restaurants and shops
