About the property

Beautiful Villa with all comforts near Alberobello, Locorotondo, Martina Franca - Ideal For Families, Pool Fence Protected, Beautiful Location, 30 Min To The Coast

SPECIAL OFFER: Due to a last minute cancellation we are offering week 5th to 12th of August 2017 at a special discount of 15%.

A wonderful place all year round and which offers lots of things to do for the whole family. The pool is open from mid-April through October. The central garden and pool area are shared with the other house on the plot (a traditional Trullo which sleeps 4 people). Garden, pool and pool area (with large shaded dining area) are very generously sized, in order to offer enough space to each party, in case both houses are occupied. We are confident we can recommend this property to anyone, including families with small children (our own kids grew up here). The property is a tranquil, safe and child-friendly environment, the pool is protected by a fence. The garden has a great variety of fruit and olive trees, some hundreds of years old. There are many attractions in the area: Lots of little towns with wonderful historical centers, Unesco heritage sites like Alberobello (just 15 minutes by car) and Matera, Lecce with its amazing baroque, lots of beaches on both coasts, countless typical restaurants for all budgets...Upon arrival you will find your complimentary Welcome Kit with useful information and advice about the area.

The Villa, a recent build, has been designed to interpret the original style of the local architecture without trying to look like an ancient building. This is expressed in the small windows towards the front and the inclined outer walls. It is very spacious and light. All bedrooms have their own access to the garden. Equipped with aircondition and underfloor-heating.

About Ina Fumarola

My husband, Alessandro, and I have been living in this wonderful area for several years now. Alessandro was born and raised in Martina Franca while I'm originally from Munich (Germany). The Trullo and land have been in Alessandro's family for seven generations (it was build by an ancestor). We have restored it very carefully, focusing on keeping its original features, such as the exposed stone arches and the century-old limestone on the floor. At the same time, we have built a new house on the land which we wanted to blend in with the local architecture without trying to look ancient. We have spent a lot of time exploring this enchanting region and love to share our findings and experience with people who come and visit us.

My husband Sandro and I are active members of the dog and cat rescue association ANGELI DEI RANDAGI, a local non-profit organization, entirely run and funded by volunteers, all highly dedicated to saving as many stray animals as possible while improving their living conditions.

We regularly feed the strays, while rescuing and fostering as many puppies as we possibly can. All adoptions are managed very carefully, with a thorough check of the adopters before and especially after the dog or cat has moved in with their new owners. We also organize campaigns to raise awareness and fight abuse and abandonment.

The association mostly relies on donations while all volunteers work without any kind of monetary compensation.

Absolutely fabulous villa

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay in this lovely villa. Everything was top notch. The pool and grounds were also beautiful with the pool large enough to share.

Ina and Sandro were incredibly responsive and helpful with any queries we had.

Trullo Fumarola, Ina and Sandro are fabulous

  • 5 of 5

The villa and pool are both spotlessly clean and very well appointed.

As the pool area is fenced off, it felt very safe for my 2 year old to wander around.

There are many indoor and outdoor toys for young children, which was a welcome surprise. They kept my son entertained for hours.

The villa has a large open plan feel to it and a lovely outdoor eating area.

Ina and Sandro are great and nothing was too much trouble for them.

The area itself has a few good local restaurants too.

I would thoroughly recommend staying in the villa or at their beautiful Trullo next door.

Pleasant, spacious house in quiet spot

  • 4 of 5

The house was well appointed. Kitchen small and not so well equipped.

The sitting space would have been better with comfortable low armchairs.

The house is full of light from big windows which is nice. Nice big garden, spot is very quiet.

The bedlinnen is beautiful. We would rather have liked a house on a hill

looking down onto the Valle d'Itria, but here it is quite flat.

Ina was very kind and helped us whenever this was necessary.

Owner's Response: Thank you very much for this review. The kitchen is actually fully equipped with large fridge, freezer, oven, stove, dishwasher and microwave, as well as toaster and kettle. We have just enlarged it to provide extra surface. The house, apart from the dining/kitchen area, has a large lounge giving onto the garden with extra spacious sofa beds.

Luxury villa and pool

  • 5 of 5

We spent a thoroughly enjoyable week here. The villa was stunning and beautifully appointed. The booking process and instructions on how to get there were amazingly detailed and we managed to find the property late at night without any problems. There was a welcoming gift of local biscuits and wine when we arrived and the owners - Sandro and Ina - were on hand to help with any problems and to provide local information. Sadly it was a little too cold in October to use the pool but everything else was perfect. We thoroughly recommend it as a place to stay.

Gloriously spacious villa

  • 5 of 5

The villa is all the photos suggest and more. They don't do justice to how spacious it is. It combines elegance with comfort, with nice bonuses like figs on the trees and (for our sons' benefit) Sky on TV. The pool is big though a little chilly in late September, bracing but irresistible. The location is handy for visiting a number of beautiful towns, our favourite was Locorotondo, and easy enough to get off to the sea. Though you could be tempted just to stay there. We loved the place.

The hosts were very helpful. Welcoming with well thought out directions to get there and a useful booklet of local information.

No ifs or buts, this place was excellent.

Fantastic hosts

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in the villa with our two year old and six month old and Ina could not have been more helpful, setting up the cots and high chairs and even leaving out some toys for our children. She was unceasingly helpful throughout our stay, from providing us with weather forecasts and suggestions for rainy day activities to printing our boarding passes for our return flights. Our daughter loved picking fruit from the trees in the garden for breakfast. Thank you both for being truly fantastic hosts.

The villa is great, clean and smart and has everything we needed. The towns nearby are lovely, Martina France our favourite for lovely buildings, restaurants and gelato!

We couldn't fault our holiday, if only the weather had been a bit better!

Location

Coast/Beach:

The nearest beach, on the Adriatic coast, is about 30 minutes by car. At about 1 hour’s drive is the Ionian coast which we definitely recommend you explore. Puglia is long and narrow, with the sea on almost all sides, so there are hundreds of miles of coastline, with countless places of all kinds: Fully equipped beach clubs for all budgets, free beaches with high dunes and great scenery and anything in between. We will be happy to supply you with directions to what we think are the best places.

Travel:

Nearest airports are Bari and Brindisi, both at about 1 hour's drive. It is essential to have a car in this area as public transport is scarce to use an euphemism. Cars can be easily rented at the airports. It is very important to book your car in advance.

In case you arrive late or want to avoid the hassle of food shopping on your first day, we can do this for you, as well as organising catering for your first evening's dinner. Please write to us for more details.

Distances:

Nearby towns: Martina Franca, famous for its ancient baroque centre and the opera festival in summer, is just 4 km away. Even nearer is Locorotondo which holds the official title “uno dei borghi piu belli d’italia” (“one of Italy’s most beautiful villages”). Famous Alberobello, a Unesco World Heritage Site, can be reached in about 15 minutes by car. Also nearby are Cisternino and Ostuni, two very pretty and lively towns. Lecce, the capital of baroque architecture is about one hour's drive away.

Further Details:

The area offers many attractions, with loads of interesting festivals, countless wonderful towns and places to visit and explore. It is also a great area when you are on vacation with children. We can offer some experience on this topic as our twin boys grew up here.

There are great restaurants for all budgets and the most delicious local produce in case you prefer to cook.

We will be happy to supply you with information and directions.
