A cosy cottage in a quiet relaxing part of Sussex

  • 4 of 5

I stayed for the weekend here with my teenagers and found the property was beautifully finished and clean when we arrived. The owner was friendly and it was a good base to explore Sussex. Although the private garden is small there's a big grass area (like a village green) in front of the cottage where the children could play football, etc. Lovely place.

Beautiful cottage in idyllic location.

  • 5 of 5

Court Lodge Cottage surpassed our expectations ten-fold with it's stunning location and comfortable, stylish furnishings. Everything we could possibly wish for was provided and more!

It sits in the middle of the owners small estate and enjoys a lovely aspect over the fields and woodland, in which we enjoyed some wonderful walks with the children able to run around in complete safety.

Ashburnham is close to historic Battle, the stunning South Downs and beach where we had a swim followed by delicious fish and chips.

Sarah, Giles and their lovely family have created a real retreat and we can't wait to return!

Magic hideaway in deepest darkest Sussex

  • 5 of 5

What a brilliant find! I would recommend this to anyone looking for a cosy hideaway in the middle of nowhere. We stayed as a party of 3 - Dad, Mum and our 4-year-old Daughter. The cottage looked great, really well appointed, very clean, very comfortable beds and bed linen. All amenities, Kitchen & equipment, bath, shower were of a really high standard.

The hospitality of the owners was above and beyond the call of duty, very friendly people who made sure everything was good.

You'll need a car to get there and for shopping & exploring.

We did some exploring around the area by car but the cottage and its location is ideal for relaxing and unwinding. We spent a lot of time at the cottage, relaxing inside, sitting outside in the sun, exploring the woods opposite. We made the beautiful walk through quiet country lanes to the great local pub for dinner or drinks a couple of times, it was all exactly what we were looking for.

I couldn't fault the property or the owners on anything. This is an excellent place and I have fantastic memories of staying there.
