Cottage in East Runton, Nr. Cromer, North Norfolk, England - It Is Just A 2 Minute Walk To Glorious Sandy Beaches In The Heart Of A Coastal Village
Elder Cottage was originally 2 fisherman cottages which had been in the same family for generations. It has been refurbished by us to provide home from home comfort with a setting perfect for family holidays. The lounge is complete with a wood burner which delivers a nice and cosy winter welcome after a long walk, perfect for a romantic evening. Guests can enjoy our lovely enclosed garden, with seating area and BBQ and plenty of room for dogs and children to run around and play. There are lots to do and see close by. There is the beach with its rock pools which is excellent for swimming and is patrolled by RNLI lifeguards during the summer season. Also nearby for sightseeing and walks is Felbrigg Hall and Sheringham Park. There is a particularly lovely walk up Ingleborough hill rewarding you with beautiful views of both East Runton and West Runton. Just a mile to the east is the Victorian seaside town of Cromer, where you can visit the New Amazonia Zoo or enjoy the end of pier show at the Pavilion Theatre. Just 3 miles to the west, is Sheringham, where you can take a trip to Weybourne by Steam train on the famous Poppy Line. East Runton also borders neighbouring West Runton famous for the discovery of the West Runton elephant.

Lovely quaint cottage
About the Owner
We are very much a husband and wife team. Richard runs his own building firm and has personally undertaken most of the renovation work on Elder Cottage. He was brought up in the village and his family have lived here for generations. His father, Jimmy Brownsell, had his own fishing boat called Pandora, and fished for many years, as well as letting beach huts deck chairs and wind breaks in the 1950's 60's 70's and 80's. Also he owned a caravan site on the cliff top, part of which is now owned and run by Robert Brownsell, one of his 5 sons. Arabella has her own cleaning business and originated from the neighbouring village of West Runton. Together with our family we love living in East Runton, it is truly a special place.

Lovely quaint cottage
We had a fantastic holiday in this lovely little quaint cottage . The cottage was spotlessly clean and had everything that we needed . A very cosy living room with plenty of seating for 6 people and a good size dining area . The stairs in the cottage are very steep so not really ideal for the elderly or young children . The garden was a great size being on the end of a row of cottages and it was fully enclosed which made it perfect for our dog . It is situated on quite a busy road but the road at the side of the cottage leads to a really pretty village green , ideal for a nice dog walk & the beach is a 2 minute walk away . Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely visit again .
