Awel y Môr is our modern, bright, self-catering holiday apartment situated overlooking the beach at the stunning Millennium Quay in Llanelli, South Wales. We hope you will love the constantly changing views of the sea from the master bedroom as well as all the features of the well specified two bedroomed apartment. The apartment was refurbished / redecorated in May (2014) and new furniture, bedding, curtains, TVs, kitchen appliances provided. The front balcony faces the morning sun and is perfect for breakfast and morning coffee, with its views towards Llanelli. The rear, south-west facing, Juliet balcony overlooks the coastal path, sandy beach and the sea. From here, you can enjoy the fantastic view and the setting sun. There is a wide range of things to do in the area and for families and couples. At Awel y Môr we have tried to provide comfortable beds and, with the choice of two doubles (one super king and one king) or one king and two singles, you will have the flexibility to book the accommodation you need. For those quiet nights in, the smart TV has a collection of over 100 modern films (categorised in U, PG etc) , a library of thousands of songs and surround sound system (with blue-tooth connection for your ipod, phone etc..) For dining out, you will have a wide choice of restaurants and pubs, including the fabulous Sosban Restaurant (voted the Best Restaurant in Wales) just a 5 minute walk from Awel y Môr and the Machynys Bar and Brasserie a little further along the coast. The Sandpiper (Brewer's Fayre) is ideal for family meals and entertainment and is also within walking distance. If you'd prefer to cook, we have provided you with a well specified kitchen with large fan oven, induction hob, microwave, coffee maker and wide range of utensils. Not forgetting, of course, the all important full size dish washer!

About Wyn Edwards


We are relatively new to the holiday rental business but please don't be put off with that!

Our apartment is nicely furnished and was fully redecorated and furnished in May 2014. We are really passionate about making your holiday a success and our business a success too!

We have both retired from full time occupation - Wyn has completed over 30 years in the fire and rescue service and Delyth has even more experience in local government, health and law.

We live just over six miles away from the apartment and love the beach in front of the apartment and the location around.

We bought the property early in 2014 and, after viewing several in the area, chose this one as it has a fabulous view from the master bedroom and, despite being so close to the beach, it is really peaceful!

Modern apartment, with superb view.

We stayed at the apartment for a short break,the area is ideal to explore this part of Wales by foot or car,lots to see and do.We did not have very good weather,but it was a real pleasure to be in the apartment! .Also it was nice to come out of the rain into a warm apartment and put on one of the many films on TV,and share a bottle of wine.We would like to thank Wyn and Delyth for their hospitality and friendliness.

Well appointed, good location

The apartment is very well maintained and well equipped with pretty much everything you could ask for.

We were met as agreed although we were running late due to a road closure on route, and it was a nice touch to be shown around the apartment with everything explained, and welcomed with a cake and some milk in the fridge (particularly as it was reasonably late).

The view of the beach and sea from the main bedroom was great, despite the weather which to be fair wasn't the best. Plenty of things to do in the area, especially outdoor activities.

Great flat but...

The flat is fantastic. It is extremely well equipped with everything you could need, including things like kitchen roll and baking paper for cooking. The only thing that was lacking was any spare toilet rolls. The location is brilliant for cycling on the Millennium Cycle Trail and for easy access to good beaches e.g. at Burry Port.

BUT the "We like to personally greet our guests" part of the holiday turned out to be a complete pain. Instead of leaving the keys in the key safe (and there was a key safe), the owners wanted to hand them over personally. Despite us informing them over a week in advance what time we would be there, they were late. They'd been on a day out, their mobile was "out of range" and hadn't responded to our calls and texts. We were basically left, with 2 young kids, unable to access the flat, unable to take in our food delivery that we'd ordered, waiting. When they finally did get in touch we discovered from them that the flat had not been cleaned for us and we had to go out AGAIN with our kids while they cleaned it. In short, it was a good 2 hours after we'd planned when we actually entered our flat and started our holiday. We suspect that the truth of it was that they had forgotten we were coming on that day. They gave us a very small refund for our troubles, but I expected a little more to compensate for the disrupted start to our holiday.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay at our apartment. Once again we can only apologise for the delayed check-in. You had been made fully aware that check-in was from 3pm but you chose to arrive at lunchtime - for this time we paid your car parking fees whilst the children played in the park. We had not forgotten your arrival, and we were on schedule to meet you at 3pm as arranged. Unfortunately, for the first time since being in business, we were let down by our cleaners. We too were disappointed that the apartment wasn't ready for your arrival. You were, however, able to take delivery of your shopping and bring in your luggage etc. whilst the apartment was being prepared. We felt that the compensation was more than fair (25% of the full 24 hour rate) plus the car parking fees you accrued by arriving early, in the light of a 90 minutes delayed check-in.

The rental unit is equipped with all the modern conveniences plus wifi and many other entertainment options. The owners are very helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone.

The apartment is less than a mile (walking) from the Festival Fields - the location of the 2014 Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Cymru / National Eisteddfod of Wales and, with its own parking, the apartment is an ideal location to stay for the event.

Changeover Day:
Saturday is our preferred change over day but we are flexible with bookings to suit our guests' needs.
