Having your own boat will not only give you flexibility of travel but will help create some wonderful memories – imagine a lazy afternoon drifting up the estuary towards Golant where you can moor up and walk from the beach to The Fishermans Arms for a spot of lunch or maybe pack a picnic and disappear to a secret bay or you may prefer to just sit and fish for Mackerel or Sea bass to cook on the BBQ for dinner.

There is a Studio set within the terraced gardens just behind the main house and is open planned with its own kitchen, dining, ensuite bedroom and sitting areas, plus a private terrace with garden furniture.

There is an additional charge to include the Studio.

As with the main property, it also boasts a log burning stove which can be enjoyed from the comfort of your bed.

Stunning property, exquisite location, high spec

  • 5 of 5

Per the statement in the title field, the Old Watch House is simply stunning; both in terms of it's location and high interior spec. We were celebrating my mother's 80th and this proved to be an exceptional choice, which delighted the whole family . Hire a boat to potter around the harbour, as we did, and then treat yourself to supper at the Lugger Inn. Heaven all within a matter of 5 minutes walk. Highly recommend this property!

A brilliant property in a perfect waterside location. The property exceeded expectations , was well maintained and spotlessly clean. We couldnt ask for a better location , great local pubs and such a variety available just a short ferry ride away. Hired a boat for the middle week and cant recommend that enough. overall a great place to relax and unwind.

Owner's Response: Thankyou you for your kind comments and we are delighted you had a great stay at The Old Watch House. The boat hire is great fun, very easy as you can do this without any prior experience and it makes for a very different and fun holiday but giving more flexibility on getting up and down the Estuary to the various pubs but also over to Fowey, where there are more pubs, restaurants, shops and art galleries.

Beautiful views of Fowey Harbour

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed Fowey Regatta week at The Old Watch House with fantastic views of the harbour. We moored our small boat outside the property with easy access from the rear steps. The property was modern, clean and tidy with well appointed furnishings. The ferry to Fowey is a short walk from the house. I would highly recommend the property.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your wonderful review. The passenger foot ferry is fantastic as it gives guests the quick & convenient choice to be able to enjoy all that Fowey has to offer aswell as Polruan....or better still, hire your own boat, assessed directly from the property, and be your own boss as to where you go and when. So much to explore on the river and you do not need any prior experience. You will be given a 15 minute tutorial with maps and information on the area and off you go! Perfect.

Outstanding waters edge property

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed a fantastic weekend with friends. What a fabulous high tech property with beautiful views overlooking Fowey which could be enjoyed from all the rooms! The kitchen was well equipped with everything you needed and more! The property was spotlessly clean and the welcoming basket was a lovely touch with both a bottle of red and white wine too!! Would highly recommend this beautiful place and can't wait to go back!

Great View.

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed staying at The Old Watch House.

Everything was clean and well maintained and the kitchen well stocked.

Our 11 year old son would take the short walk to the little bakery every morning to buy us fresh bread, pasties and other treats and on his return we would have breakfast on the large balcony watching the boats go by.

In the evening we would walk down to the little quay so the children could go crabbing and we would finish up in the pub 'The Lugger Inn' that served delicious food and great beer.

We went days not having to drive anywhere as you can walk directly to great beaches such as Lantic Bay or take your own little boat (hired through Louise) over to Fowey or Lerryn.

Can't recommend The Old watch House and Polruan enough and will definitely return.

Truly luxurious and views to die for

  • 5 of 5

So many properties are advertised as luxurious and are not - at last a genuine description - this is truly luxurious and fantastically equipped. The views over the water from every window are amazing and so relaxing. Spotlessly clean when we arrived and a lovely welcome basket - I highly recommend staying here.
