Small villa, full of character and with lovely heated private pool and terrace, nestling partway up the Corniche with magnificent views of Beaulieu village and the Marina, Cap Ferrat and along the coast towards Monaco. Beaulieu village has a market, banks, shops, restaurants, information centre, train station and beach all within 5 minutes drive of the villa. Spacious accommodation for four, both upstairs in the bedrooms and downstairs in the open plan lounge, dining and kitchen area. Outside barbecue on terrace. Excellent train services for scenic journeys along the Cote d'Azur to Italy and Cannes.

About Sandy Wilson

I'm retired now after working for years in IT and also the health service. The villa was originally bought by my parents-in-law as a peaceful haven from their busy working lives. It's belonged to me and my husband as a second home for many years now and has seen lots of happy holidays with family and friends. It was renovated and updated, although retaining its character, and made available for rental for the first time in 2014

Why Sandy Wilson chose Beaulieu-sur-Mer

This part of the world is absolutely beautiful and full of interesting things to do and see. The villa makes an ideal base to be able to visit all that the Cote d'Azur has to offer. Using convenient local transport means a relaxing way to explore the local area and an excellent way, for example, to get to the market in Ventimiglia in Italy (on Friday).

The location provides wonderful views and access to all local amenities, sights and transport links.

However, it is tucked away up a small private road and is quite secluded once you are inside - the best of all worlds. The local micro-climate of Beaulieu between the Corniches means that the weather is nearly always much better than any surrounding areas, which is why it is so sought after.

What makes this villa unique

Genuinely our second home, the spacious and airy property has stupendous views and a lovely private pool. Good restaurant and shopping facilities with Super U in Beaulieu village and a medium-size Carrefours 8 kms away on the Basse Corniche without having to go through Nice.

Notes on accommodation: The house and terrace provide a great deal of privacy in lovely surroundings, with the private pool heated for bookings from May to October. The area is peaceful and the villa is situated on a small private road with parking for two cars. Perfect for one or two couples or a family with one or two older children. Outside: The private pool is around 9m long by 4m wide and is heated from May to October. There is a profusion of bougainvillea, passion flowers and roses along the walls and outside dining furniture for up to 6 people. Outside barbecue and implements. Also sunbeds for four with cushions and towels: full size table tennis table. Utility Room: Washing machine, tumble drier, ironing board and iron. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All linen and towels, including swimming towels, are included. These are normally replaced weekly, but could be more often at extra charge. Property is extensively cleaned between lettings. Other: Downstairs cloakroom with wash handbasin/vanity unit, WC and hooks for swimming towels.

Perfect place to unwind

My family had another lovely stay at Scoubidou (our third time there). This was our first late-season visit, but even in October the weather was gorgeous and the outdoor pool was still lovely and warm – a very welcome antidote to grey, rainy London.

We didn't go on many day-trips this time out – there's a largeish supermarket just a few minutes' drive away in town, so we mostly just loaded up on provisions and lounged around the villa. But we're happy to report that Beaulieu-sur-Mer has lost none of its charm. We ventured out to St-Jean-Cap-Ferrat for lunch one day (about a 20-minute drive away) and got some superb photos of the beautiful views along the coastline. We'll definitely be back next time we need to get away from city life and decompress!

Very relaxing and comfortabel, splendid view

My husband and I spent 10 wonderful days in the villa in September. Everything is fine and clean. The beds are very comfortable, the kitchen is provided with everything you need.

It was calm and relaxing, the pool is heated, perfect for a nice swim in the morning sun. Spendid view - we enjoyed our stay and hope to return.

Location

Coast/Beach:

5 minutes drive to local beach. The Monte des Mandarines steps lead down from right outside the villa to the village, marina and beach, but this would take 10 minutes or so (and longer on the way up!)

Travel:

Essential really to have a car to make the most of the local facilities and surrounding area AND/OR use local bus down to Beaulieu station for trains to Monaco, Menton and Ventimiglia in one direction and Nice, Cannes and Grasse in the other.

Nice Cote d'Azur airport 25 minutes by car.

Distances:

1.5kms to Beaulieu, Nice 8kms, Eze 5kms , Monaco 11 kms, Cannes 42kms, Italy 22kms.

Further Details:

Range of shops, including large U supermarket, banks etc. Market in the village square. Port with marina.

Fees No additional mandatory fees

Booking Notes:
Please email the owner with likely dates to check availability. Minimum stay is generally one week. A deposit of 25% is payable to secure the booking and must be paid within one week otherwise the rental period will be made available again. The balance is payable 8 weeks before arrival. Bookings within 8 weeks must be paid in full. A refundable deposit of 250 Euros will be taken at the same time as the balance is payable and will be returned in full assuming no damage has occurred.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is always Saturday, as deviating from this in 2014 left us with un-fillable gaps in the calendar. The villa should be vacated by 10am on leaving and will be available from 4pm on arrival day.
