About Mrs Samantha Revell

Hello my name is Sam, I own Villa Roma along with my two brothers Stu and Marc and manage the bookings on behalf of the three of us.

Mrs Samantha Revell purchased this villa in 2014

Why Mrs Samantha Revell chose La Oliva

Our parents fell in love with Fuerteventura after their first visit 3 years ago. Whilst looking to find a property as a family holiday home in Lajares, Villa Roma stood out above all the rest.

Lajares is a typical Canarian village, only a short drive to the beaches at El Cotillo and the sand dunes of Corralejo.

What makes this villa unique

Panoramic views of the mountains from the private secluded pool and sun terrace. Situated on the hillside on the north eastern edge of Lajares, only a 5 minute walk to the countryside paths leading to the near by mountains.

A Home From Home

  • 5 of 5

I have stayed at Villa Roma twice now and after staying in some of the other villas in Lajares this one is very spacious very comfortable its clean and in the perfect area, a car is recommended but its still only 5 mins walk into the village and bus services are good and cheap.. being only 10 mins drive from the amazing beaches of El Cotillo (surf heaven) and Corralejo.

Paul who looks after the villa is a lovely guy and nothing is too much trouble.. Sam one of the owners is lovely to communicate with and dealing with her was quick and easy also a point to note is there are no add-ons in the cost.. what you see is what you pay this alone won me over as i'm tired of feeling stitched up by other owners who want extra for anything and everything... overall would very much recommend even though there is a piece of me that doesn't want to share this find. Everything you will need to feel at home is already there so no need to pack those extra items.. I will most certainly be back asap!

Thanks for another wonderful stay!!

Nice location

  • 5 of 5

We were seeking a quiet location, away from the main resort towns, for our first trip to Fuerteventura. Lajares proved to be exactly the right choice, a small, quiet town with good access to beach resorts, very friendly locals and good restaurants and cafes.

The villa was roomy, facing the right direction, private enough, and well equipped. Everything worked. Villas on Fuerteventura are generally of slightly lower standard than on Lanzarote, but this was fine and good value. I would be happy to return and to recommend it to others.

We did have a hire car and I think that you would need one.

The property was clean and 'as described'.

As to a star rating, I give this five stars for Fuerteventura. There wasn't a better villa that we could find elsewhere on the island for location, privacy and space. We like 'real Spain'.

I can't think of any serious downsides; there is a bit of the 'dog barking' syndrome in the village, which you seem to get in all Spanish villages, and the villa was probably last renovated about fifteen years ago, but that's it. We are a couple in our early sixties, and are seasoned renters on Lanzarote.

Excellent

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at Villa Roma, we were the first people with WiFi and it was brilliant. Such a lovely area and so peaceful and relaxing. The Villa had everything we needed or wanted. Lots of lovely restaurants in Lajares and plenty of great bars, restaurants and shops in Corralejo. Lots of fun thing to do, i.e go karting and buggy rides.

We went for a 4 hour buggy ride From Corralejo to Lajares around to El Cotillo and back to Corralejo. A lovely trip enjoying the scenery and the lagoons. With stops along the way to take pictures and walk around.

Coast/Beach:

Villa Roma benefits from the peacefulness of being slightly inland but still only 5 mins drive from the surfing beach at Majanicho, 7 mins from the wonderful beaches and lagoons at El Cotillo and 10 mins from the tourist town of Corralejo with just a short ride further on to the golden sand dunes.

Travel:

Lajares is a 35 mins drive from the airport and although a car is not essential it is recommended to make your stay more relaxed and enjoyable. Car hire and taxis are available at the airport.

Further Details:

Lajares is still a very unspoiled, typical Canarian village with numerous bars/restaurants, a large supermarket, French bakery, German bakery, pharmacy, surf shops, surf school, newsagent and cash point, which are all just a 10-15 mins walk from Villa Roma. Flights: Low cost airlines Ryanair, Easyjet and Monarch are now flying direct to the island from the UK.
