I live in England with my husband and have two grown-up daughters. We own and run a holiday cottage business in Yorkshire together with running a sheep/arable farm.
We are very busy with our business, but when we can, take the short flight to Bergerac and then 15 minutes later we can be at our holiday cottage in Issigeac! Switch off and unwind!
AMANDA TATTERSALL purchased this cottage in 2013
After several holidays in the Dordogne, especially around the Issigeac are, we decided to purchase a house for our own holidays to share with our family and friends. We totally fell in love with the house at the first viewing (we had previously viewed many!) and now after a few months of refurbishing and adding a second bathroom we are ready to let our lovely house. We run and own eight holiday cottages in the UK - 4* and 5* Gold Visit Britain Accreditation, so we now how to provide a first class holiday home - which is what we have achieved at our home in Issegiac. We love the area around our house - so much to see and do for all ages/tastes and very easily accessible.
The house is situated in Issigeac - a vibrant Medieval Bastide Village. Just a short stroll away you will find a choice of restaurants/bars/cafes, 2 Supermarkets, 2 Butchers, 3 Bakers, Individual Shops, Tourist Information Office, Pharmacy and Doctor. etc etc and on Sundays the village hosts a very popular large market spreading out into many winding streets and attracts both locals and tourists alike. A visit to the market is a must whilst staying in Issigeac!
A quick note to thank you for our stay at your lovely house! We had such a relaxing time and the children as well as I loved the house. So nicely decorated, very homely, and brilliantly located. We loved being able to walk into the village for coffee and a game of cards as well as the Sunday market which is fab and we got to enjoy one of their great Medieval Fairs and the feast which was really worth it. Two weeks flew by and despite having teenagers we found lots to entertain ourselves with. I recommend the tennis courts in the village (there is a time table at the little hut and you just put your name down) as well as the Karting at Bergerac! Many thanks, The Evans Edinburgh.
"I just wanted to say thank you for such a lovely week.
Our daughter and I really appreciated the decor of your gorgeous cottage which creates an ambience we really appreciated . We both felt a lot of thought had gone into the finishing touches and congratulate you and your husband on thinking of everything.
You have created a beautiful home from home, in such a lovely village in a stunning part of France!
Thanks again and good luck for the future" The S's August 2014
We have had a lovely time and the cottage was great. Highlights were our strolls into the village every evening and taking Daniel to the little park with the slide! Then, sitting out in the garden enjoying a glass of wine. We enjoyed swimming in the lake and visiting the Chateau at Lanquais, and the Sunday market in Issigeac was fabulous. the cottage had everything we needed, was cool and quiet and felt like home for the week. Thank you for a lovely holiday. The J's July 2014.
It is over 30 years since we last visited the Dordogne region and we could not have found a more relaxing and comfortable property in which to stay. Flights to Bergerac from Yorkshire are short and then it only a 2 road/15 minute journey to Issegiac.
The cottage is furnished/decorated to a high standard, the king size bed is extremely comfortable and all amenities are provided. The only problem we had was getting the temperature in our bedroom cool enough - a mobile air con. unit would be perfect for upstairs. The fan provided simply moved the hot air around!
The back garden is peaceful and wonderful for watching all the birds darting about.
The village centre is only a 5 minute walk away - perfect for fresh croissants and newspaper in the morning. There are good restaurants and really there is no need to leave Issegiac - it has everything.
We will certainly be looking to visit this property again.
We had a really great stay at your lovely cottage. It was very cosy and had everything we needed. We especially enjoyed eating in the garden in the warm French sunshine. It is also in a handy location - 15 mins from Bergerac airport and close to many pretty towns. We had many nice visits into the village of Issegiac - a 1 minute walk to the centre of the village from the cottage - where there are a number of nice places for food and coffee. While we visited there was a Bodega taking place on the Sunday evening which was fantastic - great local food and wine as well as entertainment. Thanks for letting us stay in your lovely house Mandy and John!
The house and garden is just perfect. It's great just to sit in the garden and listen to the birds singing, wonderful views out on to an open field and woodland. The house is very comfortable and we had the best nights sleep in the main bedroom, which made a refreshing change to sleeping in rental beds! There are at leats two great restaurants one down the road from the house going out of the village and the Bruceliere in the village and they we good value for the type of food served. The location is great for the Lot area, which I particularly liked. We would return without hesitation.

The cottage is extremely welcoming- it is cosy and inviting. The owners have cleverly designed and decorated each room - each looks like a photo shoot for Homes and Gardens! Yet we felt extremely comfortable and at home in this lovely house. The kitchen is well equipped and I can think of nothing else we hankered for. The garden overlooks wood land and again has been designed to please the eye. We are frequent visitors to this area- there is SO much to do and to see... The fortified medieval town of Issigeac in easy walking distance of the cottage with plenty of bars, restaurants and markets. Further afield are many places of cultural and historical interest. We thoroughly recomment both the abode and the area for a really fab holiday! (and this is from 3 very, very fussy customers!)
