Villa in S'Algar, Menorca, Balearic Islands - Peaceful / Quiet Location On The Coast 5 minutes walk from sea.

La Tortuga is a delightful Menorcan villa. There is an amazing large outdoor private pool with outside shower. It has 4 Bedrooms, (including 2 double bedrooms with large en suite bathrooms) and a separate shower room.

Other key features include: built in BBQ, Pool/air-hockey table.

Located 5 minutes walking distance from the sea and village centre of S'Algar which is a coastal town located in the south east region of the Balearic island of Menorca. S'Algar boasts some fantastic restaurants and S'Algar Diving is probably the best scuba diving club on the island for snorkelling and scuba diving.

Paul and Nina who help look after our villa are both English and situated nearby in S'Algar. They are fluent in English and Spanish and able to help with any questions whilst you are away.

Well located villa

Perfect family holiday!

We loved this villa, perfect location, lovely pool and garden. Felt like a home from home, it's really well equipped and for us as 2 families with 4 children age 6 and under it was ideal. We just wished we could have stayed longer than a week! We will definitely be booking to come back again soon!

Private & relaxing

Our mixed age group of eight had a wonderful time in this comfortable spacious villa. Lots of room inside and out where we could gather together or have some quiet space.

Everything we needed was in this well equipped villa.

Our party included two small children who settled well with plenty of toys and a beautiful pool to enjoy, they also enjoyed visiting the nearby hotel mini disco.

S,Algar is A very relaxing place to stay with enough to keep everyone busy and also within walking distance of a picturesque, safe beach with a welcoming beach hotel/restaurant .

Hopefully we will return and enjoy again sometime.

Beautiful Villa, Wonderful Holidays

We have stayed in Carl's villa a number of times, with friends and with family. S'algar is quiet, perfect for a family holiday and has enough shops and restaurants to mean you don't have to travel far if you don't want to. That means to you can relax around the villa, sit on the roof terrace, play games on the patio, or enjoy the fantastic pool - which is big enough to swim, play or just cool down in. There are 'proper' supermarkets a short drive or bus-ride away, if you want to stock up the fridge and cupboards.

The villa has its own off-road parking, which is great (especially for unloading cases or shopping) if you have a hire car, and travel around the island is quite straightforward. Roads aren't too busy and well signposted. Buses to Mahon and beyond leave the village centre every hour and S'algar is on the island's Cami de Cavalls coastal pathway, if you fancy a day's walking or cycling - find some secluded beaches and old lookout towers.

We have been to Menorca 4 times now and still find plenty to do. Recommend snorkelling in the bay, the village bakery for coffee and pastries, the pizza restaurant is good, kids loved the go-karting in San Luis, drive to the top of Monte Toro and see the whole island and take a boat trip out of Mahon.

We hope to come back again soon.

Excellent accomodation

What a beautiful spot!

Just what we needed for a relaxing break.

Near enough to the sea to walk there in 5 mins but enough away to be incredibly peaceful.

Plenty of lovely restaurants nearby all within walking distance.

We live in NZ but hope to go back soon.

From the Owner

We love going back to S'Algar and Menorca we find it such a lovely island and not too commercialised. Louise always used to go on holiday as a child to S'Algar and so has fond memories of this part of Menorca. I enjoy diving and there is an excellent Dive club (probably the best on the island - S'Algar Diving) just a few minutes walk from the villa. There is an amazing beach just a few minutes drive or 15 minutes walk and some great restaurants.

Activity and Interests

Car: not necessary


It is approximately a five minute walk to the village where there is an area for snorkelling and swimming in the sea. There is also S'Algar Diving centre which is probably the best on the island if you fancied trying some scuba diving.

15 minute walk to Alcafar beach which is idyllic for children


The nearest airport is the Aeroport de Menorca in Mahon and is about a 20-25 minute drive. Car hire recommended but not essential.


Mahon is the capitol of Menorca and is about a 20 minute drive from S'Algar. There is a bus service from S'Algar to Mahon. It is great to visit especially on market days.

Monte Toro which is the highest point in Menorca which has a gift shop and great views of the island, it is about a 45 minute drive.

Further Details:

Menorca is surrounded with lovely beaches to visit and many great restaurants and cafes.

We are located very close to S'Algar Diving, probably the best diving club on the island, so great if you like to go snorkelling or scuba diving.

There is a great network of cycle paths if you enjoy cycling and bike hire is readily available.

Eating out in S'Algar

There are 2 restaurants in the village centre (El Pirata and Isobel Reina) which are really friendly and serve great food. If you want something a bit different there is Asia restaurant near the big San Lluis Hotel. Up the top of the hill is Las Palmeras which are good for pizza and steak.

There is also a fabulous bakery serving fresh cakes and coffee.

S'Algar also has several gift shops, local supermarkets, car hire etc.

From the Owner

The property is close to the sea with a fantastic sea view from the roof terrace. A few minutes walk into the village centre are the local shops and a great place to go swimming or snorkelling near the Dive centre. I think our favourite feature of the villa is the large private swimming pool. S'Algar is not too far from Mahon which is particularly good to visit on market days. The villa lives up to its name as you may occasionally spot a tortoise or two roaming around the garden.
