Situated in spacious grounds, on the Normandy/Brittany border, within the bay of Mont St. Michel.

About Lesley SOULSBY

My Husband Ian and I moved to France in 2007 to renovate a house we fell in love with while on holiday. Now our children have left home, there is room aplenty and we have separated the accommodation to make a gite. We look forward to sharing our tranquil surrounding with you.

We moved to France in 2007 when we found our home whilst on holiday, it was in the middle of a field with cows walking in and out of the large building and needed total renovation. We took on the challenge and started work. Now finished and with our children living their own lives, we would love to share this lovely tranquil setting with others.

What makes this farmhouse unique

Our property is set within seven acres of land surrounded with lovely country side.

With over an acre of garden down to lawn and shrubs, with our own woodland, there is plenty of space for children of all ages to run and play. We have a stream running along the edge of our property with shady walks. Swings slides and climbing tower, and many other activities for children to enjoy

In the surrounding area there are many interesting places to visit with both Normandy and Brittany beaches close by. The area offers sand yachts, go-carting and many other interesting attractions. We are with in the bay of Mont St Michel on the cycle route for those wishing to bring bicycles. Historical sites:

Mont St Michel - Fougeres Castle - The American Cemetary - Avranches with many historical buildings including 'Pattens Tank'

Great holiday venue

This property was just as described on the website, and we made use of all that was offered - all 9 of us! This property would equally suit a smaller number, but for our three generational, two car visit with four adults and five children aged nine to fifteen, it proved ideal. The children loved the spiral staircase, the four boys fitted into the bunk room with the extra beds and we grandparents enjoyed the downstairs bedroom and en suite, well worth the extra amount paid for privacy and seclusion.

There was plenty of space and seating for all in the large living/dining area.

The kitchen was well stocked and equipped, though more than one at a time was a squeeze in the narrow space - good excuse to leave all the work to some one else!!

On arrival the owners large and friendly dog caused apprehension to the dog fearing member of the party, but was soon got used to, and kept well under control by Lesley and Ian, the owners, who could not have been more friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

The swimming pool (to be replaced by a larger one next year) proved lots of splashy fun, and after a wet day spent indoors, was a good way to get really wet in suitable bathing attire in spite of the rain.

The grounds were beautifully kept with play equipment and a separate ball game area.

If we had not wished to explore the surrounding area we could have happily spent the entire week in this peaceful retreat without leaving the grounds. We visited Mont St Michel, St Malo, Granville, Ducey and Fougeres with its wonderful castle.

I would recommend this venue to anybody not wanting to venture more than five to six hours from Calais and hope they enjoy it as much as we did.

Please contact the owners direct by e-mail to make a booking. A deposit of £100 per week is required to confirm a booking. The balance is required 8 weeks before arrival date together with a security deposit cheque of £150 which will be returned to you within 7 days of your departure.

Changeover Day:
Sunday changeover day 10.00 departure 4pm arrival. In low season we can be a little more flexible with times.

Notes on prices:
Shorter stay booking negotiable, with additional laundry charges on number staying.
Autumn breaks include logs and heating in the price.
