Fully refurbished Spring 2014, Clare Cottage is a traditional Lakeland stone built terraced cottage situated centrally in the beautiful village of Ambleside. With accommodation over 3 floors, the cottage provides ample space for 6. There are magnificent views to the front and rear of the property from the upper levels and with all the amenities of Ambleside on your doorstep, including shops & restaurants as well as walks for all abilities, a car is not essential.

Comfortable and convenient

We had a lovely time in this well-appointed cottage which was seconds away from Ambleside town centre. The house was tidy and comfortable and we enjoyed firing up the log burner for a cosy evening in. A delight.

Lovely spacious cottage in great location

Clean and much more spacious than the pictures would suggest, we loved Clare Cottage. The location is ideal for walking to pubs, excellent restaurants and some lovely walks direct from Ambleside. We did find the parking difficult, but we were there during school holidays so that probably contributed. We always got a space within a 3 minute walk however. The cottage is extremely well equipped, everything from casserole dishes to washing up liquid, jigsaw puzzles to DVDs. The welcoming sparkling wine, biscuits and pint of milk were a lovely touch! Look forward to staying at the cottage again on our next visit.

Perfectly appointed spacious cottage with central location.

Third stay for us at Clare cottage which has been fabulously renovated to offer every modern convenience. Beautiful kitchen and bathrooms with under floor heating. Three spacious bedrooms with lovely bedding and towels. Roomy lounge and diner; in fact we bought the same multi fuel stove for our own home following our first stay here. If you are lucky, as we were, you can park two cars outside the front door. The cottage is centrally located in gorgeous Ambleside with the town on the doorstep. Walks from the front door to Grasmere, and further afield. Thank you Jacqui for allowing us to stay in your perfect cottage.

Lovely cottage, fabulous location

Six of us arrived Friday for a three night stay. Plenty of room, clean and spacious, beds very comfortable and the location of the cottage perfect. The cottage was clean and spacious. We arrived in three cars so one of us had to park on nearby car park but at £15 for the three days, not badly priced at all. Definitely recommend a stay here.

Change over day for a full week is Friday during the peak season and either Friday or Monday at other times. Short breaks run from Friday to Monday or Monday to Friday.

The £100 damages deposit will be refunded within 7 days of the end of the stay.
