With accommodation over 3 floors, the cottage provides ample space for 6. There are magnificent views to the front and rear of the property from the upper levels and with all the amenities of Ambleside on your doorstep, including shops & restaurants as well as walks for all abilities, a car is not essential.

Saturday and Sunday changeovers are not available, sorry. Outside: Small patio to rear of property with garden furniture and BBQ 2 Parking permits provided though parking is on a first come first served basis. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All linen and towels included. The property is cleaned after each group of guests depart. Other: Under stairs cloakroom for wet coats and muddy boots.

Very warm and welcoming

The cottage was warm and welcoming and very well equipped. One or two light bulbs had gone but didn't detract from anything. We had a really good time and would go back again and would certainly recommend it with a caution about the steepness of the stairs (not a criticism). The lack of a second parking permit was a bit disappointing but soon over come and as we had two cars we took advantage of the free parking down by the pier and used the shuttle. All in all a good choice, very central and surprisingly quiet.

Clare Cottage: had everything we needed, clean, comfortable, spacious, warm. Very convenient for catching the bus, local shops. Excellent spot to explore the Lake District.

A beautiful house in a great location

The house is beautiful. The decor is clean and subtle but everything you could possibly need was there.

We were a group of 5 family members with elderly parents and the house worked brilliantly. Plenty of living space and beautiful bedrooms and bathrooms.

Central location made it easy to walk out in the evenings to eat and browse Ambleside.

I would definitely recommend this property to my friends and family.

Comfortable and convenient

We had a lovely time in this well-appointed cottage which was seconds away from Ambleside town centre. The house was tidy and comfortable and we enjoyed firing up the log burner for a cosy evening in. A delight.
