House in Sandwich, Kent, England - Wonderful Location, 2 minutes walk from the beautiful beach and close to historic Sandwich

Large family house with 6 bedrooms, described as the "Enid Blyton House" due to its character and charm. In a wonderful location on the quiet private estate of Sandwich Bay backing on to Royal St George's golf course, right by the beach which stretches for miles. One master bedroom & ensuite with views across the bay. Further double-bedroom over looking golf course & sea, three rooms with twin beds (one with sea views) and one room with bunk beds. Four upstairs bathrooms including one shower room and 2 downstairs loo. Two sitting rooms so plenty of space, one with log burning stove and SKY TV including Sky Sports. Dining room, playroom and large family kitchen with French doors out on to the garden. Utility room. Enormous walled garden with plenty of room to run about. If you are looking for a house that is updated and pristinely modern the house is probably not for you - it is old fashioned. Fabulous coastal walk to the historic town of Deal past the golf course. Two other golf courses... Royal St George's (our house backs on to the 5th tee) and Princes, both of which are walking distance. Prince's "Lodge" has a brasserie that is open to all. Sandwich Bay is perfect for those keen on bird watching, wild flowers, walks, paddling or swimming in the sea, kite surfing, seal spotting, historical sites, playing golf... It is a 5 minute drive to the medieval town of Sandwich which has the second most listed buildings in England. You can easily go to Ramsgate, Broadstairs, Margate, Deal, Dover, Whitstable and even across to France. In the summer there are many events in the local area eg at Dover Castle.

Notes on accommodation: This is the perfect house if you want a house with character, charm and space. It has an authentic feel to it and original 1920's features. It is not suitable for hen or stag parties or for those who prefer ultra modern fixtures or furnishings as it may be too dated for their style or needs. Please note that there are about 25 windows in the house and therefore have salty air on them. As a large detached house by the sea -the wind chill means it can be colder than in town Outside: Enormous well maintained walled garden with outdoor table and benchs. Utility Room: Washing machine Sheets provided but please bring your own towels unless alternative arrangements have been made with the owner . Other: Charming dining room to seat 12 which alongside large kitchen means there is plenty of space to eat. Playroom with toys and books (used at guest's own risk). Please note all the bedrooms are on the 1st floor and there are no hand rails in bathrooms & loo

Great location. House needed a little TLC

House is brilliantly located for touring the area. We came with small children and loved Ramsgate, Folkestone Leas, Canterbury, Broadstairs, Pegwell Bay. The beach just up from the house is pebbles so we went elsewhere for the sand. The house itself is full of character with loads of room for a large group. The garden is massive we brought a big paddling pool and a sun tent for the kids to play in. We did have some issues with the house maintainence which we didn't speak to the owner about at the time as we felt they could not be resolved during our stay hence only 3 stars. They have taken our feedback on board. Unfortunately I can't recommend at the moment with the current issues.

A delightful house in a lovely location

The house was just as it is described - i.e. a charming large family home which made a perfect base for three generations (plus dog) for the week. We had everything we needed and were met on arrival so we had a tour of the property and a friendly contact should we need it. We enjoyed long walks on the beach and nearby golf courses, pottering around Sandwich, Deal and Margate and can highly recommend the Ramsgate Tunnel Tours for ages 4 to 68!

lovely large family home

Just back from a weeks stay ,had a lovely time . we were a mixed age group 58 down to 3 years we all had enough space to be together or space apart . not modern but very in keeping with the external design. We would stay again and recommend to friends and relatives alike
