Very spacious property

Very well presented rooms with loads of space for everyone. The kitchen was well equiped and overall provision was excellent. The views over the water towards the Bass Rock were fabulous. Our two 12 year old grand daughters loved the garden area where they practised their gymnastic routines.

Wading, walking, wildlife and weather. Wonderful!

We loved staying here. It is a fabulous home and we really enjoyed using the facilities. The sonos speakers were a great success and a very sneaky way of getting everyone up in the morning!

We waded in the rock pools every day and became very friendly with the local herons, curlew, oyster catchers, red shanks and diving turns!

We walked from Shell Bay to Anstruther. Walked the Elie Chain. Ran along the coastal path in both directions. Spent hours in Edinburgh Castle and St Andrews.

We ate in the Ship Inn and The Cellar and of course had fish and chips from the Anstruther Fish Bar. All exceeded expectations.

We didn't get chance to eat at the smokehouse but went in to check it out for next time!

To top it all we had the most fabulous weather and a spectacular storm.

What more could we ask from a holiday.

Fantastic House in a lovely location!!

The house was newly refurbished and in great condition. Well equipped, large, homely and in an amazing location. The view from the house made it feel at one with the sea.

The kitchen and downstairs lounge area opening up onto the back garden/terrace were fantastic for socialising as well as the upstairs snug for relaxing.

The villiage of Anstruther has the perfect balance of being small enough to feel quaint and untouched by high street chains but there are enough shops and good places to eat and drink to keep you entertained for a week away.

Great property with beautiful views

We took the property for a get together for a group of friends and children over the New Year. It was perfect. The house is well appointed and finished to a high quality. The views of the winter storms were very impressive and we were glad of the log fire to keep us cosy as the storms raged outside. I would highly recommend this property and we are very likely to book again.

The Manse.

I stayed with family and friends at the Manse for a week as I was playing in the Dunhill links. I play on the European tour. I can honestly say it's one of the best houses we have ever rented. Absolutely stunning. Well equipped,beautiful decor,comfy beds and fantastic views. We will be going back for sure. Highly recommended from myself and family. Tommy Fleetwood.

Amazing place with amazing views!

We had a wonderful week at The Manse. The house is huge and just amazing. With the 5 bedrooms and 2 living rooms, there was plenty of room for our group of 8 adults and 2 small kids.

The kitchen and dining had everything that we needed and plenty of room to cook and eat. There is also a BBQ and firepit outside, which we used. The outside garden was a great space to watch the birds, boats and let the kids run around.

There are great views from each room and we even saw dolphins from the lounge.

I highly recommend this house. We can't wait to come again for another visit!

It is also 5 mins from the best Fish and Chips in the UK.

From the Owner

We have refurbished The Manse to provide a retreat from the "bustle" of city life. With golf, beaches and plenty of space for kids, we believe it ticks all the boxes.

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

There is an abundance of excellent beaches in the area - the nearest being within 100 yards. For those into walking, Anstruther is also part of the Fife Coastal Path (and arguably part of its finest stretch).

Travel:

Edinburgh Airport is 70 mins away.

The Manse is within the village itself and is served by a bus route. A car is therefore not essential - but with parking immediately outside and a plethora of places to explore, we would suggest one is advisable.

Distances:

The property is in the village.

The fishing villages of Pittenweem and Crail are 5 minutes away.

St.Andrews is 15 minutes drive.

  • Outside: The front garden is immediately adjacent to the seawall. There is a large patio, astroturfed area (the sea can splash over the wall in winter and makes growing grass a challenge!) and decking area. There is a selection of garden furniture (inc. a church pew!) and a barbecue. Utility Room: A large, separate utility room houses plentiful cupboard space as well as washing machine (with tumble dryer), microwave and drinks fridge. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are included and are changed weekly. In addition, a selection of ESPA toiletries are provided each week. Likewise, Nespresso capsules and other condiments. No smoking in house and please bring own beach towels. Other: Bed 5 is in the attic and is the perfect kids' den. There is another 46" LED tv with Playstation 3. Velux Cabrio windows make this an incredible space. There is an internal cctv monitor should parents wish to keep an eye on upstairs.
