Freshly painted inside and out for the 2017 season....This attractive villa is situated at the head of a small cove in the residential area of Cala Llonga and is built on the hillside to take full advantage of the beautiful views across Mahon harbour. The villa is tastefully furnished and has high quality terrace furniture including a large dining table and chairs to complement the Menorcan-style barbecue. We consider that we have furnished the villa to a very high standard to ensure that your stay will be a memorable one. The towels, linen & bed coverings have all been chosen with care, this is our home in Menorca and we hope that our guests will enjoy the house and the area as much as we do. The villa has the capacity to sleep 10 in four bedrooms with three bathrooms. The pool is private & regularly maintained as is the garden. Attractive villa surrounded by Mediterranean garden and sun terraces, integral garage with automated access.

The accommodation is very well furnished as a home, sitting-room with wood-burning fire, iPod dock, CD Player, DVD and radio/stereo plus Apple TV for films and international TV since satellite stopped working on the island in early 2014. Dining area and comprehensively fitted kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, and fridge/freezer. Separate utility room with washing machine, leading to outside drying area. On the ground floor there is a double room and one with four bunk-beds sharing a separate bathroom, and a large double room with its own en-suite bathroom. All ground-floor rooms have access to the pool-side terrace. Upstairs is the master bedroom with its very large en-suite bathroom. The room is attractively furnished with wonderful views of the harbour and balcony via double doors. Radiators are fitted in the sitting area and the two master bedrooms. All bedrooms have fans and fitted wardrobes. Outside there is a barbecue area with outside dining, a further covered dining area furnished with a large teak table. The villa is near to accessible but unspoilt beaches, great for sea-swimming in natural surroundings within a conservation area. Envilles is the perfect size, whether your requirement is as a couple wanting a pool-side romantic break to get away from it all, or for up to two families wanting individual en suites but still have rooms to spare for teenagers or toddlers. The variety of activities for all ages is inexhaustible from local historical sites, to any number of sporting activities, the island's culture is dedicated to all things equine. The sea, rocks, caves and inlets offer sea kayaking, sailing (dinghies upwards) fishing and many other water-sports and for big boat enthusiasts charter your bit of luxury with a skipper for the day from one of the excellent charter companies, or for a quick treat use the water-taxi which is available from Cala Llonga to Es Castell or Mahon. Excellent tennis facilities throughout Menorca and there is a good golf course at Son Parc about 20 minutes drive away (a couple of tennis rackets can be found in the garage). For walkers or cyclists there is a network of well-signed tracks and paths which are both tranquil and fragrant from the wild herbs that are to be found all over the island. The Cami de Cavalls (http://www.menorca-net.co.uk/walking/), the recently reinstated Menorca coastal path right around the island is a particular draw for walkers. Gastronomes will not be disappointed with the wonderful variety of fish available at the historic Fish Market in Mahon, or at the many waterside and inland restaurants with many local specialities including Caldereta which is a spectacular lobster soup. The local beef is a must, there are many cattle farms on the island. For night-life, whilst remembering that this isn't Ibiza, the quays and waterfronts in Mahon, Es Castell, Fornells and Cuitadella are all buzzing at night and there are some great small clubs in Mahon, not forgetting the spectacular setting of El Cova den Xoroi in Cala 'n Porter (check it out on You Tube). About Simon Taylor

We recently bought Envilles (April 2014) mainly for use by our family and friends, but also to rent out to people who will enjoy it as much as we hope to over the coming years. The house is very well equipped by the previous owners and we will be adding to this over time as we send more "toys" out and look to put our own stamp on the property. At the time of writing our children are 5 and 20 months respectively. We look forward to them spending part of their childhood in the tranquillity of Menorca, and taking advantage of the chance to learn Spanish and to learn to sail at an early age. We live in Kent in the Southeast of England.

Why Simon Taylor chose Minorca (Menorca)

We have holidayed in Menorca for the past 4 or 5 years and finally decided to take the plunge in Cala Llonga on the back of visits and a friend who lives in the area. We like the fact that it is a "year round" place to live rather than purely a beach resort that could be a bit dull out of the season. It is close to beaches, shops, and the restaurants and night life of Mahon. It is quick and easy to access from the airport and is a lovely quiet area yet within reach of all that you could want on a relaxing holiday with friends or family.

What makes this villa unique

Cala Llonga is close enough to Mahon to be convenient for all your needs, yet far enough away to afford peace and quiet and a relaxed feel. the property has fantastic elevated views of the harbour and across to the Port of Mahon, plenty of space, and a lovely garden and pool area. Parking is no problem and the small supermarket 100 metres away can provide most things. Larger supermarkets and other shops are only a short drive away, as are some stunning beaches. Menorca is a small island and everything is within easy reach as long as you have a car. There is also an excellently maintained park with children's play equipment no more than 100m from the villa down by the water's edge - perfect for young children. There is also a bar at the apart-hotel just 100m up the hill.

Just arrived back from an great stay at Envilles. The villa had everything we needed to keep our 18m old son entertained, and Cala Llonga has a handy playground as well. It is also well placed for access to both beaches (Cala Mesquida was a particular favourite only 5mins drive away) and the main city of Mahon. Highly recommended - we're looking forward to our next visit already!

Special interest holidays:

Many people visit Menorca for the coastal walks, including the Cami de Cavalls coastal path, and it is also a popular destination for cyclists. There is ample storage for bikes in the garage if required. There is one mountain bike with helmet in the garage for the use of guests.

Coast/Beach:

The waterfront is about two minutes walk, the cove is mostly occupied by boats, although there is a small sandy strip and grassy park with a play area for small children. The nearest beach is Mesquida, an unspoilt sandy beach approximately 10 minutes drive away. There is a pretty fishing village Es Grau which has a sandy beach and safe shallow bathing about 15 minutes drive. There are also numerous boat-hire and sailing schools as well as sea-kayak tours and hire. Jeep safaris, too.

Travel:

The main airport is at Mahon, and is a 15 minute drive from the villa. Car hire is essential and available either from the airport or we can recommend a good car hire company who will meet you at arrivals.

Distances:

The capital of Menorca, Mahon is 10 minutes drive, although separated from Cala Llonga by the harbour. Approx. 13 Euro cab fare for up to 5 people. The island is not that large and nowhere is more than 45 minutes drive from the villa. There is a small park with children's play equipment 100m from the villa down by the water's edge.

Further Details:

Many harbour side restaurants in Mahon and Es Castell (across the harbour). The nearest supermarket/bank/post office is 10 minutes drive. The old town of Mahon contains many restaurants and shops of all descriptions many supplying high quality leather goods, shoes and fashion. There is a cinema, theatre and art galleries. Sports facilities of every description including all water-sports, tennis, riding and a cricket club! There is also a trotting racetrack. Aero-club and boat charter facilities.

The villa is suitable for children of all ages, although toddlers may struggle with the stairs until confident. Pool safety fence at extra cha . 2 x high chairs available, cot available on request. Outside: There is a private garden surrounding the villa. In addition to a purpose built barbecue and dining area, there is a further covered dining area adjacent to the kitchen/dining room with teak dining table and directors chairs for 8. There is a patio area around the pool with eight sun loungers and chairs. The pool benefits from views over the harbour, and night lighting. Utility Room: Washing machine, iron and ironing board, vacuum cleaner. Doors to drying area (outdoor). Laundry sink. Seven of us spent four nights in this lovely villa and our only wish was that it was for longer!

Given that we were only staying for a short time I was looking to find accommodation that was easily assessable from the airport yet close to places of interest and also local amenities. Having read previous reviews, Villa Envilles seemed to tick all of our boxes. It was described as being within close proximity to Mahon and local beaches, as well as having a supermarket and a hotel serving food just down the road. Upon arrival, Villa Envilles did not disappoint. My friends and I loved it. It was very comfortable and well equipped, as well as being extremely clean. Even though we were only there for four nights and did not have a car, we managed to pack a lot in. We ventured into Mahon using taxis and the water taxi and from Mahon also caught a bus to a local beach. It was always nice to come back to the villa to relax in the sunshine and in the evening to play cards into the early hours whilst enjoying the local wine! Simon, the owner was very helpful and accommodating and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend this villa to anyone.

Comfortable and spacious villa

We enjoyed our stay here in early July. The pool was very private and a good size. All the usual required equipment was there including a tv that allowed us to log into Netflix for that occasional night in. Its location, near the local shop is also a bonus.

Relaxing stay in villa with stunning views

Comfortable, well maintained villa with great pool. Lovely to sit outside in the evening and enjoy the views over Mahon harbour with a glass of chilled wine. Whilst a short drive away from restaurants and bars in Mahon, the villa is in a peaceful residential area. Best of both worlds!

A very comfortable villa, well located with a fairly private pool terrace and very helpful owner

A comfortable, good sized villa with nicely appointed bathrooms and excellent water flow in the showers. Good air conditioning throughout and useful door stops/hooks to keep windows/doors from slamming in the nice breeze that is often present in Cala Llonga. Lots of helpful items available for guest use, such as beach umbrellas and windbreaks etc.

There is a decent rotary washing line on a large un-shaded patio at the rear, which is unusual for this area and great for drying beach towels etc. quickly.

The location is ideal for the local shop (which is quite well stocked) and a children’s' play area. The fairly private pool terrace has a nice view of the busy harbour approach, particularly from the covered dining area.

The local beach (Sa Mesquida) is lovely and a short drive. Even in high season this beach never gets horribly busy.

Easy access (10 mins drive max) to Mahon town with many excellent restaurants on both the waterfront and in the old town. Mahon also has a number of larger supermarkets, some with easy access.

Simon the owner is extremely helpful and quick to respond to communications.

This villa will be on our short list for our next visit.

Great villa...

Great accommodation, well appointed and close by airport and Mahon made for a great few days away with friends.

A very well appointed villa for a family or group of friends. Lovely pool area to relax, eat, drink and enjoy the views over to Cala Fonts and Mahon.

Quiet and peaceful location with a local shop nearby (2 mins walk) for essentials as well as nearby ApartHotel for drinks and food throughout the day. A short drive from Sa Mesquia beach and the excellent Cap Roig restaurant for Paella... What more could you want.

Amazing Short Break

I have just spent the best long weekend in this perfect villa, in fact it is my 3rd visit, it's that good! The villa was clean & tidy. It's full of light with bedrooms that open out on to the pool area and amazing views of the harbour. There is a generous size kitchen with an indoor and outdoor eating area, and lovely sitting room. The local supermarket (2 mins down the road) has everything you would need, and the local Aparthotel (2 mins up the road) serves great food as well as a mean gin & tonic! Cala Llonga is beautiful and close to both the airport and Mahon town (take the water taxi, it's great fun). The perfect getaway for couples, friends and families.
