About John Nicholson

We are a couple from Durham who have owned the property for 10 years using it as a holiday home where we have enjoyed many enjoyable holidays. We recently decided to let the property and have completely redecorated and refurnished it to make a quality holiday experience which we hope you will enjoy.

Why John Nicholson chose Seahouses

We love the Northumberland coast and surrounding area it is one of the hidden gems of Britain. Wonderful beaches, numerous castles and attractions as tranquil or hectic as you want to make it.

We would welcome any comments after your stay so that we can ensure a first class service.

What makes this cottage unique

The cottage is located within 5 minute walk of the beach, harbour and facilities of the village.

Guestbook comments from the owner

"What a lovely place to stay comfortable, spotlessly clean and close to everything you require, a great relaxing break"

David Henderson, Durham.

"The cottage is ideally situated for touring the many attractions in Northumberland, being not too far from any of them, especially Bamburgh Castle which is just three miles away. The house is spotlessly clean and well furnished and has all the bits and pieces you would need for a self catering holiday. Seahouses centre and late shops etc are just a five minute stroll and there's an excellent characterful pub 'The Old Ship' for evening meals. We ate there most evenings! To sum up; this is certainly one of the best self-catering holiday homes we've experienced and we'll certainly book it again."

A great situation but a little short on comfort.

  • 4 of 5

If I was a young person I would've found the place very comfortable I'm sure but I'm not and both my wife and myself found the sofas unbearably uncomfortable. On that basis I would not book this property again. That's a shame because in most regards it was very good. Get rid of that awful furniture!!!

Owner's Response: thank you for the feed back it is the first complaint we have had regarding the sofas which are only a year old but we will look into the matter I am sorry that you felt that way and did not tell us sooner so that we could have helped

Lovely Holiday Home

  • 5 of 5

Lovely holiday home on a quiet estate, just a short stroll in to Seahouses for all the amenities. The house is tastefully decorated, has all the equipment for your stay, warm & welcoming and very clean. Ideally situated to explore the area. We'd highly recommend this holiday home.

Perfect place to stay for a Northumbrian base

  • 4 of 5

The cottage was clean and comfortable with very easy access to the centre of Seahouses - just a short walk along the cliffs or road into town. It was good value for money and had everything necessary for a week's break. The only problem which I am sure will be easily resolved was the noisy boiler.

Owner's Response: sorry to hear about the boiler you should have told us you felt there was a problem, I will have it looked into though it maybe the fact it is an oil boiler and they have to fire up I am on the case though!
