About the Owner

We are a family with Cornish roots who love Porthtowan. We bought the Beach Cottage for the stunning views over the beach and coastline beyond. We furnished the house to a high standard with 1 to 2 families in mind, so you can have a relaxing holiday in Cornwall.

Amazing house and brilliant views

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing stay at this property and the whole process was very easy, Mark was really helpful and gave us some information beforehand for the local area. The house is in an amazing location and is beautifully presented, we stayed with another couple and the house is just huge! Highlights are the beautiful baths, double showers and main bedroom views of the sea. The kitchen has everything you could need as well. The beach is great for bodyboarding and surfing and we had a lovely walk to Chapel Porth this area was so beautiful with a local shop, a coupe of pubs nearby and beautiful walks that we didn't use the car once during our week away. We can't wait to go back - thank you for having us!

Awesome

  • 5 of 5

We booked beach cottage as we were getting married in Porthtowan on May 31st. All my family stayed at the house so it was very busy but with the lovely bedrooms, all the bathrooms and the huge sun deck we felt like we were in a mansion!!!

From the very outset Mark has been so helpful answering all our questions and helping us in so many ways!

The house was very well equipped and we had everything we needed for a lovely stay.

We made some wonderful memories in Porthtowan this week but nothing will beat sitting on the sun deck, drinking some bubbles, watching the sun go down with my new husband!

Thank you Mark and Rowena for making our wedding week just that bit better by staying at Beach Cottage. We will be back for many years to come!!!

Simply amazing!!!

  • 5 of 5

We booked the Beach Cottage for a weekend in February 2016 to celebrate our Grans 80th birthday. Our stay was simply amazing, it was the perfect property, the perfect location and had the perfect view.

Even before we arrived the owner was very helpful answering all questions and had good local knowledge that was extremely helpful.

Our party consisted of 9 adults and 2 dogs who more than comfortably fitted in a spacious and relaxing cottage, made even more cosy by the log burner roaring away whilst Storm Imogen raged outside giving the most dramatic seas and views. The cottage was well equipped, warm, clean, well maintained and there were instructions for everything including the Sky tv with all channels which entertained our sport/movie mad family.

It was the ideal location for the Eden Project, Flambards and Porthtowan Beach.

The Beach Cottage made our Grans 80th birthday truly unforgettable and the memories made will last a lifetime, in fact we are already making plans to return next year.

Beautiful views and lovely cottage

  • 5 of 5

We recently enjoyed a lovely week in Cornwall staying at the cottage. The views are stunning and the accommodation fully met the needs of our family of 10, which included my mum aged 73 to my granddaughter aged 3 months. It is located in easy reach of places to visit such as The Eden Project and Land's End. Screech Owl Sanctuary is well worth a visit and Gnome World is close by but unfortunately they weren't open for another couple of weeks so some members of our party (but not others!) were disappointed. We were so looking forward to wearing a gnome hat and having a fishing rod so as not to embarrass the gnomes!!! The Victory Inn is a great friendly pub close by and the food was excellent. The Blue Bar is also a great place to hang out and have a drink or something to eat. The younger members of our group liked this bar. I would highly recommend the cottage and would love to go back again sometime in the future. Happy holidays if you choose to stay here!

Amazing holiday!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Beach Cottage in March and had the most wonderful time. The cottage itself is beautiful. Modern and spacious but still very cosy. The views from nearly all of the rooms were breathtaking and we enjoyed lots of time in the cottage and made use of the lovely wood burner. Being a large family group including a 16 month old baby and a dog there was plenty of room and we had everything we needed. Great location for walking and quite central to most places so a great base for exploring more of Cornwall. We were very lucky with the weather which made our holiday even more special- we even visited Elm Farm bicycle hire which wasn't too far away and cycled 18 miles to the south coast! Customer service with regards to booking etc. was great, very easy to contact and book. Would highly recommend Beach Cottage and would love to return again one day. Thank you for a wonderful holiday!

Simply fabulous!

  • 5 of 5

This is a fabulous house offering a very comfortable space for up to ten people with everything you need to cater for them all. The kitchen is really well stocked with lots of mugs, plates, cutlery etc. and a huge array of utensils, pots, pans, bowls - in fact anything you may need if you want to cook for a houseful. Every room is fresh and clean, beautifully decorated and the majority have stunning views. We loved waking up in the morning to watch the tide coming in and some of the sunsets in the evening were stunning.

It is perfectly situated for relaxing, walking the many nearby footpaths along the coast or down to the beach, visiting nearby towns and attractions. We loved it, our grown up children loved it and our dogs loved being in such a great location as no two walks were ever the same. The owners were really pleasant and really helpful. Would highly recommend.
