About Bev Chittem

Hi my name is Bev, Hampton Hayes is a 200 acre hill farm.Barry my husband rears beef cattle & sheep.

We also have a small boarding kennels & cattery. Wednesdays 9.00 to 3.00 we host activity days for special needs people, about 8 visitors. We do seasonal activities{ making jams/chutneys, bottle feeding lambs, gardening, arts & crafts. We enjoy meeting people and sharing stories. Our values: "we are each a stitch in the beautiful tapestry of life, some stitches might be more vibrant than others, but all stitches are needed to form the full picture" We try where possible to meet your requirements. please ask, any questions/directions email. Whilst the lodge is comfortable it isn't a high end luxury hotel (price reflects) Its a rustic cabin set in stunning countryside, and we welcome you.

Bev Chittem purchased this cabin in 2000

Why Bev Chittem chose Shrewsbury

Hampton Hayes Farm, nestles into the hill side and appears like the Mona Lisa, wherever you see the farm from the valley it appears to be looking directly at you.

We are situated at the end of the lane, so any traffic up the lane is to see us, we are south facing so get good sun, the views are far reaching .

What makes this cabin unique

Whilst we seem to be in the depths of beautiful countryside, we are only 1.5 miles from the village and approx 15 miles from the market towns of Shrewsbury, Welshpool & Montgomery which allows us feel we have the best of both worlds. Ideal for persons loving country walks, artists, professionals needing to wind down.

Wonderful rural find

  • 5 of 5

Stayed in Dragon fly lodge for a long weekend,

Better than ever expected, previous reviews are correct, Bev and Barry have thought of everything.

The fact they let us take our dogs was excellent.

Never bothered us once but are right at hand if you need them, what a wonderful little haven and a lovely couple, we’re already planning our next visit, dads in a wheelchair but everything was fine for him a delightful little break for us all.

Thanks Folks and well done.

Absolutely stunning views....

  • 5 of 5

Set just off a small village which has a small village shop for all your needs. The views as you drive up to the farm are stunning. When you reach the top you will not be disappointed. The lodge was amazing everything you needed a really home from home. Bev and her family made you feel really welcome. Shame we only had a couple of days but will definitely come back again.

Thank you for sharing your lovely farm with us.

Lovely, secluded, relaxing stay

  • 5 of 5

Our stay in Dragonfly Lodge was perfect. The accommodation was very spacious and comfortable. The highlight by far was Lucy - the donkey who we all got very attached to! We will definitely be visiting again in the near future. Thanks to Bev and Barry for their hospitality.
