About Bev Chittem

Hi my name is Bev, Hampton Hayes is a 200 acre hill farm.Barry my husband rears beef cattle & sheep.

We also have a small boarding kennels & cattery. Wednesdays 9.00 to 3.00 we host activity days for special needs people, about 8 visitors. We do seasonal activities{ making jams/chutneys, bottle feeding lambs, gardening, arts & crafts. We enjoy meeting people and sharing stories. Our values: "we are each a stitch in the beautiful tapestry of life, some stitches might be more vibrant than others, but all stitches are needed to form the full picture" We try where possible to meet your requirements. please ask, any questions/directions email. Whilst the lodge is comfortable it isn't a high end luxury hotel (price reflects) Its a rustic cabin set in stunning countryside, and we welcome you.

Bev Chittem purchased this cabin in 2000

Why Bev Chittem chose Wales

Hampton Hayes Farm, nestles into the hill side and appears like the Mona Lisa, wherever you see the farm from the valley it appears to be looking directly at you.

We are situated at the end of the lane, so any traffic up the lane is to see us, we are south facing so get good sun, the views are far reaching .

What makes this cabin unique

Whilst we seem to be in the depths of beautiful countryside, we are only 1.5 miles from the village and approx 15 miles from the market towns of Shrewsbury, Welshpool & Montgomery which allows us feel we have the best of both worlds. Ideal for persons loving country walks, artists, professionals needing to wind down.

Wow! You won't get a more stunning view from a holiday cottage! Lovely comfortable lodge.

A wonderful place to stay in a fabulous location with lovely owners. The views are simply stunning- watching the sun rising over the hills was beautiful. The lodge is a home from home, with all the things you need for a comfortable stay. A very handy outside decked area as well as a garden are great for enjoying the views with a meal or simply letting your dog have a wander in safety! The owners are great, very welcoming & available if you need them. A really peaceful spot- we highly recommend a stay at Dragonfly Lodge- you honestly won't be disappointed!!

Perfect family break...lodge, location...loved it!

  • 5 of 5

Stayed Monday until Friday with our 2 teenagers and puppy. All thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The stunning views,

extremely comfortable and homely lodge were perfect. The varied local footpaths meant we didn't have to go far to enjoy lots of dog walks. Many thanks to Bev, Barry, Angela and of course Tom.

Fantastic property! With views to match, stunning location!

  • 5 of 5

We recently stayed for 3 nights over the bank holiday weekend, 4 adults, 3 kids and a dog. Wow! What a superb property and unbelievable views across the Shropshire country side! Second to none! A great place to chill and relax with friends. Barry and Bev were extremely hospitable, the kids were treated to tractor rides and feeding the calves! They really enjoyed it like the rest of us. The lodge wanted for nothing and is really comfortable, ample space for the whole group. We will definitely stay again, in fact we are hopefully booking to stay again next Easter! I would definitely recommend the lodge and the fantastic location to anyone.

Thankyou so much

Beautiful wood cabin

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful wood cabin, set in a stunning location, very clean and comfortable.

Sitting outside listening to the cows and sheep is really very relaxing, there is a kennels close by, but it doesn't affect your relaxation.

What a great place!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our weekend away in this super cabin. Comfy rooms, two bathrooms, all we needed to enjoy our stay and fantastic views as well! Our two dogs were made welcome and were looked after and walked during the day so we could go out without them. Thank you for a great holiday.

Met all our expectations, and much more!

  • 5 of 5

Though it seemed a little 'out of the way' at first, this location was fantastic! The views, superb, and the Lodge was delightful, in terms of it's cleanliness and decor. It was well insulated, and although near dog kennels, noise was not a problem to us. A great base for exploring southern Shropshire. Our thanks to Bev and Barry. No hesitation in recommending this accommodation and location.
