Fantastic property! With views to match, stunning location!

  • 5 of 5

We recently stayed for 3 nights over the bank holiday weekend, 4 adults, 3 kids and a dog. Wow! What a superb property and unbelievable views across the Shropshire country side! Second to none! A great place to chill and relax with friends. Barry and Bev were extremely hospitable, the kids were treated to tractor rides and feeding the calves! They really enjoyed it like the rest of us. The lodge wanted for nothing and is really comfortable, ample space for the whole group. We will definitely stay again, in fact we are hopefully booking to stay again next Easter! I would definitely recommend the lodge and the fantastic location to anyone.

Thankyou so much

Beautiful wood cabin

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful wood cabin, set in a stunning location, very clean and comfortable.

Sitting outside listening to the cows and sheep is really very relaxing, there is a kennels close by, but it doesn't affect your relaxation.

What a great place!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our weekend away in this super cabin. Comfy rooms, two bathrooms, all we needed to enjoy our stay and fantastic views as well! Our two dogs were made welcome and were looked after and walked during the day so we could go out without them. Thank you for a great holiday.

Met all our expectations, and much more!

  • 5 of 5

Though it seemed a little 'out of the way' at first, this location was fantastic! The views, superb, and the Lodge was delightful, in terms of it's cleanliness and decor. It was well insulated, and although near dog kennels, noise was not a problem to us. A great base for exploring southern Shropshire. Our thanks to Bev and Barry. No hesitation in recommending this accommodation and location.

100% A* wonderful

  • 5 of 5

We holiday a lot and I can honestly say i've never found such a spacious, welcoming lodge, in such an utterly outstanding location. I stayed with my husband, toddlers and two cats.

The view is literally breathtaking, i was totally unprepared for that, and could easily have stayed all week just watching the weather come into the valley, the amazing birds and wildlife ...if you go take binoculars, take a camera, take a sketchpad. The world is literally right outside your front door and there's something for everyone to see and do on site.

Gentle walks and animal meetings, views to appreciate, lots of family games and a kitchen you can really cook in, or for the more active and wonderful country walks nearby.

The lodge itseslf has the feeling that people have actually lived here, so has all the small details taken care of that holiday lets often miss, it really feels like a home from home. A very clean and well taken care of home.

Tv's in every bedroom, games, local info packs, extra bedding, dishes, etc. Inside the bedrooms are spacious, and there's a wet room and private enclosed rear garden for pets/small children.

While the owners live nearby, they are not at all intrusive. It was a bonus having Barry on hand when we took our toddler for a walk round the farm, his knowledge made meeting the animals even more enjoyable and Bev's knowledge of the local area made it even more special.

There sheep were driven past the end of the lawn and my toddler loved visiting the pigs. Cows, calfs, and other animals in the barn were also popular.

If you can go - do. It's the sort of place you'll remember for a long time.

LOVED the views! Perfect for family get together.

  • 5 of 5

We had a fabulous stay in Dragonfly Lodge! The views from the property are amazing and Barry and Bev are the perfect hosts, always happy to help out or offer advice. The lodge itself is great, loved the open plan living area, perfect for a family get together of 3 generations, and having 2 shower rooms meant there was little waiting around! We ate out at the local Lowfield Inn and the Nags Head at Pontesbury, but mainly we enjoyed simple suppers with a bottle of wine or two, round the big table where we could then lounge on the squashy sofas - so relaxing! Days out included Shrewsbury which we loved for shopping and the Quarry gardens, Ironbridge was fascinating and the Iron Museum which was free and we were lucky to catch one of the falconry displays there. I'd happily recommend this property to anyone who enjoys fresh air and far reaching rural views!
