Bungalow in Highcliffe, Christchurch, Nr Bournemouth, Dorset, England - Great Location Just 5 Minutes Walk To The Beach And Backing Onto Chewton Bunny Nature Reserve

Great location with a short walk (approx 5 minutes) to beach, shops (including fresh fish stall and local butcher and delicatessen), cafe bars, pubs, restaurants (Chinese, Indian, Fish and chips). Good base for many other local beaches, historic Highcliffe Castle, Christchurch town, the New Forest, Bournemouth, Poole and Lymington where there is also a ferry service to the Isle of Wight. This 3 double bedroomed semi detached bungalow is designed to be versatile so you can choose 3 double bedrooms or any variation of one double and any combination of 2 to 4 single beds. There is a large comfortable lounge/diner with free view TV and a DVD player with a selection of DVD's you are welcome to use. The kitchen is fully equipped with all you need to be self sufficient including a fridge freezer, electric cooker and hob. The garden is very private with patio furniture and as we back onto the Chewton Bunny Nature Reserve it is very peaceful and full of the local birdlife including the odd woodpecker or 2 if you're lucky. Local amenities are Highcliffe golf club, beaches for swimming, surfing or sailing. Avon Beach and Mudeford are close by and whether cycling, walking or driving you won't need to travel very far in any direction before finding excellent restaurants and bars for relaxing and watching the sun go down. Chewton Glen Country House is a stones throw away & Christchurch town approx 5 miles away has an historic Priory plus Monday market for local produce, clothing and other stalls. You can walk or cycle the 2.5 mile coastal path from the cliff top to the castle, through Steamer point nature reserve to Mudeford Quay. We are lucky to be in the unique position of being right on the Dorset/Hampshire border meaning that you are a 5 minute walk to the beach as well as just a 10 minute drive into the beautiful New Forest famous for the ponies wandering around freely which really makes it a must to go and visit during your stay.

We have been lucky to have lived in Highcliffe for the last 16 years and having relocated from Herts/Beds we fully appreciate all the wonderful things available to you when living by the sea.

We have over the years taken full advantage of long beach walks / cycling in the forest / sea fishing / outdoor music events and many other things that the locals are able to take advantage of every day when living in a holiday resort.

What makes this bungalow unique

We have recently moved to our current property and it has a completely self contained 3 bedroom semi- detached bungalow attached to it that we are able to let out for holidays so that others can enjoy all the things we do about this great place. The location is fantastic as we back onto the Chewton Bunny Nature reserve and we really are a 5 minute walk to Highcliffe Beach.

Bunny Hop Heaven

When we arrived we were so pleased to see such a bright and welcoming place. It's in a lovely quiet road and we couldn't wait to explore.

As soon as we walked in I felt at home, the welcome basket full of little gifts of chocolates, wine and treats for the dogs. Milk in the fridge for our tea while unpacking.

It's close to the village centre with all the shops and cafes you would need if cooking is not what you want to do.

Supermarkets in the village and also the bigger ones a short drive away for a bigger shop if needed.

As you step out your bungalow you turn down a country path down to the beach, which is stunning over looking the Isle of White. We sat at the restaurant/ cafe bar a many a night with the dogs watching the sun go down.

We can't wait to come back.

Wonderful weekend

Stayed for 3 nights at Bunny Hop - 6 adults and 2 dogs. We had a wonderful weekend with plenty of space and all the facilities we could have needed. We didn't need to bring cooking utensils or t- towels, bin bags, foil etc as it was all there, with plenty of personal touches too. The bungalow was immaculately presented and extremely well kept. The garden was enclosed and perfect for the dogs. The property is perfectly sited for so many things to do and see. In fact it was a pity we couldn't stay for longer. We can thoroughly recommend staying here and also the local Thai restaurant called Similyan - some of the best Thai food we've ever had! Thank you Tanya & Pete.

Lovely Christmas

We had a Lovely Christmas at Bunny Hop. The bungalow was excellent. Warm and cosy very well equipped with everything we needed to spend a family Christmas there. Tanya and Pete were very friendly and helpful.

The position was excellent close to the beach, shops and restaurants.

Family heaven

We have just returned from a lovely family holiday at Bunny Hop. The bungalow is a bright, airy, clean and comfortable place to stay. We took 3 small children and they loved being there. A very warm welcome awaited us on our arrival. Tea, coffee, milk, water, chocolates and wine everyone was happy! The short walk to the beach was through a lovely wood very child and buggy friendly. The beach itself was clean. The children had hours of fun! We visited the new forest, a day trip to the Isle of Wight on the ferry which went from Lymington. We also visited the all important Peppa pig world, all places with in a close distance. We ate fish and chips from Daniels fish shop, all enjoyed these. Tanya and Pete were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for them. A lovely family holiday where many memories were made. Thank you both.

Perfect getaway

Arrived with group of friends for a catchup weekend away, leaving husbands/partners and city life behind. We were not disappointed, Bunny Hop was the perfect place to stay. The bungalow was very clean, beautifully presented and we were welcomed with a complimentary bottle of wine, biscuits as well as finding tea/coffee etc available. Close by we were able to enjoy picturesque walk to the beach through the woodlands, and beyond to the fishing village of Mudeford, venturing out to Brownsea Island on our second day. We enjoyed meals at The Cliffhanger, Daniels fish & chips both close by as well as a superb lunch at The Jetty in Christchurch Harbour, here we indulged in the freshest of seafood and the most delicious of cocktails. I thoroughly recommend Bunny Hop as the place to stay if you want an enjoyable place to stay. Thank you Tanya and Pete for such friendly customer service.

Hop down to Bunny Hop

Bunny Hop is just like it is described on the website. A lovely, fully equipped, clean and comfy bungalow; arriving to find milk, water, tea, coffee, a bottle of wine and a pack of cakes, started the holiday off well for all concerned. The owners never intruded but were available should the need arise and always had a friendly wave and smile if they saw you. So nice to walk through the woodland path to the beach, which is child friendly, shops are within an easy walk from the property, as are the numerous restaurants. I would thoroughly recommend Bunny Hop to my friends and we will definitely be using again. Thank you Tanya and Pete.

Long winter lets can be arranged with a discount. Bookings are from Saturday to Saturday, please do enquire for other possibilities as we can be flexible. A £200 deposit secures your booking and balance payments are due 6 weeks prior to arrival, for bookings made less than 6 prior to arrival the full balance is due upon booking. We also ask for a £200 refundable damage deposit with the balance. This is then returned (all being well) after your let and an inspection of the property. Please feel free to contact us with any enquiries or questions you have by email or telephone.

Changeover Day:
Usually Saturday but we will consider other days so please contact us with your requirements.

  • Notes on accommodation: The bungalow is perfect for anyone looking for a holiday at any time of the year. It is great for coastal walks in the spring/autumn/winter or for a relaxing beach holiday in the summer. You can do as little or as much as you like as the area has something for everyone. Outside: Own private garden with garden furniture backing onto the Chewton Bunny Nature Reserve leading to Highcliffe Beach. Parking on drive for one car but ample free parking on roadside outside the property. Washing machine and outside rotary washing line. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are included. Please bring your own beach towels, end of rental cleaning is included, more frequent cleaning and linen change can be arranged at additional cost. Unfortunately not suitable for wheelchair users
