Large Apartment in 1838 Farmhouse, perfect for La Clusaz/ Grand Bornand & Lake Annecy - Peaceful Location Alongside Woodland And Mountain Stream. 10 Minutes to Skiing And 20 Mins To Lake

Our lovely spacious apartment is situated in a rural position on the edge of the traditional village of Les Villards sur Thones. The property has woodland and a mountain river running alongside .A bar and restaurant and Intermarche supermarket are all within walking distance. It is a 10 minute drive to skiing at La Clusaz/ Le Grand Bornand or 20 mins to Lake Annecy. The pretty market town of Thones is 3 km and Annecy half an hour drive or 40 mins bus ride. Perfect for individual shops and restaurants . Summer activities are numerous: swimming, sailing, paddle boarding, cycling,and mountain walks, picnics. The Tour de France is a regular attraction.

Skiing (230kms) snow shoeing (90kms marked trails) and skating are nearby in the winter.

About Flossy Dixon

We are a semi retired couple who love the mountains. We love renovating old houses so La Rochetaz was a dream to get our teeth into!

Why Flossy Dixon chose Les Villards-sur-Thônes

We were introduced to this area about 10 years ago by some friends who had recently bought a house in the same area. We felt we shouldn't encroach on their space so searched the French and Italian Alps for a chalet but always kept returning to the Aravis range. It is such a beautiful area summer and winter . Real Heidi country!

Lake Annecy is so close that we tend to swim or sail there most days in the summer. The skiing is wide and varied with 2 resorts on the doorstep, la Clusaz and le Grand Bornand.

There are about 190 km of Snow shoeing (raquettes) trails to follow too. This is a popular activity in the area

What makes this apartment unique

We are about an hour from Geneva which is convenient for most UK airports. But also we often travel on Eurostar from London to Annecy. The 62 bus goes regularly from Annecy to Our village.

The appartment is situated in a quiet location in a very French village yet is close to the resorts of La Clusaz and Grand Bornand and the pretty market town of Thones

Historic and beautiful chalet with delightful hosts

The perfectly romantic chalet. Huge space, with timber beams and cosy sofas arranged around the roaring log fire, everything you need to relax. Perfectly equipped for cooking, comfortable beds in spacious bedrooms (even hot water bottles). A tub for a good soak after a day's skiing with piping hot water looking up at the stars or in summer sitting out on a balcony overlooking the prettiest valley. Neil and Flossy made sure we had all we needed and were very hospitable. Just what we wanted thank you!

Wonderful walking hoilday

We had a wonderful walking holiday in the French Alps. The apartment is delightful; quiet, clean, comfortable and luxurious with stunning views. Neil and Flossy were very helpful. The alpine scenery is stunning and the cable car trip up Mont Blanc should be on everyone's to do list.

Perfect Alpine Stay

A beautiful place to stay - close enough to La Clusaz for shops, restaurants, skiing etc - but peaceful, relaxing and not overlooked. We could have spent hours looking at the sun on the mountains, or the lights across the valley, with the roar of the stream in the background.

The chalet is the perfect combination of traditional charm and modern living - well equipped, spacious and comfortable. The fireplace is a welcome sight on a cold evening - and was often watched in preference to the TV!

Fabulous Homely Farmhouse in Fab Ski Area

We stayed in this beautiful farmhouse between Christmas and New Year 2014/15. The Farmhouse is very spacious with plenty of room for 6 adults - my husband and I with 4 adult children. Well decorated and very well furnished. The representation of the pictures and the information in the website is accurate.

We chose to ski in the Grand Bornand but could have also skied in La Clusaz - another time for sure. There is so much ski-ing to be had. and suited all abilities. The area is beautiful with plenty to see for those who don't want to ski. You will need a car to get around as this wonderful farmhouse is situated outside of the town in a beautiful setting. It's worth it.

The supermarket is close by which makes shopping on the way back from ski-ing easy, especially if you need to pick up something to drink! Well it was New Year!!

Flossy and Neil are lovely people, very friendly and accommodating. We will be back again and although as a family we love to ski we would also love to explore the area in more detail so a summer retreat would be something we would do.

Thank you Flossy and Neil. We had so much fun and enjoyed your beautiful place and the log fire was a lovely treat at the end of the day.

A great week was enjoyed by all of us. Much appreciated.

Beautiful apartment

This is a stunning apartment, perfect for a relaxing family holiday. Inside, it lives up to the pictures, was spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated, with everything we needed. Outside, the scenery and views are breathtaking. We visited for a summer holiday with our three children and found masses to do in the local area, from beautiful lake Annecy to trips in cable cars and mountain walks. A lovely place to stay!
